  1. When going to the menu for the map, I should be able to use the large right knob to select which option I want to change (Orientation, Auto Zoom, Land Data, Avtn Data), and then use the small right knob to scroll through the options for that field, followed by an enter press to select which option I want to use for that field. Currently in the sim, you use the large left knob to select the field you want to modify, but the small right knob doesn't do anything, and you seem to just use the enter button to toggle different options. This isn't how the real one works.
  2. Has anyone been able to fly an RNAV approach with the 430? In the real 430, you can select an approach by pressing the PROC button, and then select an airfield, then the approach. After you select the approach, it loads into the flight plan. I can't seem to get the sim to operate that way. I'm trying on the Nevada map in the cold start quick mission. The 430 in the sim doesn't seem to let me change airfields after pressing the PROC button, and select approach. It will only show the approaches for Mc Carran (and the names for those approaches don't seem right either). If I press the CLR button to try and get to the airfield selection portion, it doesn't let me select an approach for the new airfield (I've been trying to use Laughlin, ICAO ID KIFP).
  3. Grease pencil
  4. I'm curious, has anyone ever done a grease mark mod on the Huey? It would be cool (and realistic) to have backup grease marks on the windshield for the armed variant. Also, it would make it easier to shoot with the miniguns fixed forward from the left seat. I did do a Google search for such a mod, but came up with nothing.
  5. This works great Chic, thanks for doing the leg work on that!
  6. Would a compromise be (for those who wish to use encoders) to add a function like ‘turn left outer knob one click’?
  7. Seems like this function shouldn’t be controlled by the amount of time the button is pressed, but instead by the number of times the button is pressed. The real life 430 has a notch feeling in the knobs, so one notch equal one ‘click’ of movement so to speak.
  8. Just looked through the 430 manual, and the only thing I could find was that the clear key will return to the default nav page when held. Otherwise it just deletes, or cancels an entry. It doesn't work as described in the first post. From page 1-3: (5) CLR Key – Used to erase information, remove map detail, or to cancel an entry . Press and hold the CLR key to immediately display the Default NAV Page.
  9. Force trim doesn't move the center, it just moves the point that the force gradient holds the controls. You can still push against the force gradient to the control stops, but total throw remains the same in all axes.
  10. On the real 430, you hold clear from any page to go back to the default nav page.
  11. Is there wind in the mission? A crosswind will cause you to have a different heading than your desired track in order to hold that track.
  12. I have both the Vipers and the F1 pedals. I pretty much echo everything Goblin says. I use the cam with the softest center for each set, and have found the center softer (more smooth) on the Baur pedals. I do like the brake pedal travel better on the Slaw's than the Baur pedals, but as it stands, right now the Baurs are my primary, and the Slaws are the backup. Bottomline, I don't think you could go wrong with either set. I find them both fantastic.
  13. Just windows defender. It's on a separate SSD from the operating system. I am using OVGME to install and uninstall mods, and it works just fine with the standard install, and alpha, so I wouldn't think that would be the problem either.
  14. Not sure if anyone has had this problem before, but for some reason, if I install the beta, it will disappear off my hard drive after awhile. I've installed it three times now, even opened it and played it, but after awhile (not sure exactly when it happens), confirmed both before and after a restart, everything in the beta install folder disappears except any mods I have installed. Standard release and alpha builds seem to be unaffected.
  15. I'm assuming he means he flies the T-38 IRL.
  16. It definitely isn't an easy process, but I was able to work it loose with side-to-side motion with my fingers, although I had a flathead screwdriver on standby.
  17. Just got my T-50 base. Changed the cams/springs to the soft center/light springs, then mounted everything up to try it out. Unfortunately I was met with the below screen on the control panel. None of the buttons respond. The axes work just fine, though. Side note, the cam changing process, while a pain, wouldn't be so bad, except the milling of the parts seems like it might be too tight. I had a real hard time getting the pitch cam to seat all the way so the screw holes would line up. I had to press it in place using the bearing arm assembly. Edit: Turns out it was the PS2 connector. I changed to a different one, and now everything is working. I'll leave the rest of the post as is, in case someone has the same problem.
  18. Chic, they have a version of the MCG that is made especially for TM products (and will work plug-and-play with the BRD-N). It doesn't have all the buttons and functionality of the MCG Pro, but that's because the Warthog is limited to 18 buttons (I think). Either way, the WH can't handle as many buttons as VKB products. If you get the version I linked below, like I said, it's plug-and-play, no adapter required. https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=vkb-sim-mcg-tm Edit: Well, it's more than 18, since it says 23 on their description. Either way, the MCG-Pro won't be compatible with TM products because it has too many buttons.
  19. Hey Trip, I just noticed that your pics from the first post are missing now...did you happen to have any showing the wiring process?
  20. Thanks Yogi, I'm sure I can live without it, just curious.
  21. Yeah, my Komodosim collective's hat has the same feel, but no function, but it would be a nice feature to have, since simulators require 'extra' functions, like zoom, or recenter of VR.
  22. Yogi, I received my EC-135/145 cyclic and collective today, and everything looks great. I haven't had time to assemble anything, but I noticed that the hat switches on the collective and cyclic seem to press inward, as well as the four ways (up/down/left/right). The the inward press serve as a button?
