  1. Hey Trip, I just noticed that your pics from the first post are missing now...did you happen to have any showing the wiring process?
  2. Thanks Yogi, I'm sure I can live without it, just curious.
  3. Yeah, my Komodosim collective's hat has the same feel, but no function, but it would be a nice feature to have, since simulators require 'extra' functions, like zoom, or recenter of VR.
  4. Yogi, I received my EC-135/145 cyclic and collective today, and everything looks great. I haven't had time to assemble anything, but I noticed that the hat switches on the collective and cyclic seem to press inward, as well as the four ways (up/down/left/right). The the inward press serve as a button?
  5. I used to fix H-53s, so as far as I can remember, it is the same grip as in the H-60, which I fly as a pilot. It is a B8 grip, just with the buttons wired up for what is required in those helicopters. While I'm not sure exactly what the abbreviations mean, up, or IC, is for the ICS, or Internal Communication System. Basically, it only talks inside the helicopter to the crew. PT transmits on whatever radio is selected (maybe it stands for Primary Transmitter or Transmission). Anyway, that one is for talking outside the helicopter. Edit: Just noticed from your description, and picture, the switch is backwards from what is in the H60. Not sure why that is, but I'm sure they work the same, even if reversed.
  6. The picture Bugs is covering up is an E model. It has seven blades, and the FLIR arm.
  7. Not to mention the fact that it has seven main rotor blades.
  8. Not sure I would group Komodo with the others...I'm not too impressed with what I received from them recently. Definitely third this!
  9. For sale is a Suncom SFS throttle and Talon stick with the Realsimulator FUSBA installed. Works just fine with the Realsimulator software to calibrate. Will ship worldwide at buyer's expense. Ebay listing here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252962582014?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  10. Used Logitech G940 for sale. Located in Tennessee, USA, but will ship worldwide at buyer's expense. Ebay listing here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252962679974?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  11. For sale is my virtually unused Pro Flight Trainer Puma system. I was going to create two cockpits, one for fixed wing, and one for rotary wing, but I just don't have the space. I've instead had to opt for one simpit for both, with interchangeable controls, and this system didn't work for my setup. Works great, though. Here is the listing on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/252949018544?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 From the listing description: "This is the 4th Generation Puma Pro Flight Trainer Helicopter Flight Control system. It features a B8 style helicopter cyclic grip as seen on many aircraft, including the Bell 206, UH-1 Iroquois, UH-60 Blackhawk, and many others. The system also features an integrated collective and rudder pedal set with everything feeding into one controller board that provides a USB connection to the computer. This particular one for sale was purchased for a new sim setup to act as the helicopter control system. Unfortunately, the way the system is put together did not work with either of my sim chairs (Monstertech, and Obutto). This system is meant to be used with a 4-legged chair, and as tested by me, works great with one (steel folding chair, or kitchen chair). I just don't have the room for the extra stand-alone sim. This item was assembled, tested, and found to be in great working condition. It worked great with all pieces of software I have on my system (DCS, IL-2 Sturmovik, FSX, and P3D). As a helicopter pilot, I found the resolution, physical feel, and features on this system to be perfect for helicopter simulation. Assembly was straight-forward and easy with the provided printed instructions (also includes an optical disk with .pdfs). Ships from the U.S. same or next day as long as the shipping company is open." 12. I agree. I went back to the #10s to get rid of any detent.
  13. The Warthog throttle can be used with any stick, since it has its own usb. I use one with various joysticks, including VKB Gunfighter, G940, and BRD-N without issue. Only caveat is you can't combine a non-Thrustmaster stick with the trottle in TARGET.
  14. Thanks Rainer. I went with the #10 cams with a #40 spring on pitch and #30 spring on roll with some damping dialed in on both (extension w/Warthog grip). It definitely doesn't return to center, but i'm not worried about that. Honestly, I think everything will feel much better with the lighter MCG when it's available.
  15. I've noticed that the 'W' cam is described as being designed to compensate for the added weight of the Warthog grip in the pitch axis, but how does it do this? Is it more of a center detent, or just thicker to provide more spring tension? How does its detent compare to that of the #10 and #30 cams?
  16. Yes, your Cougar grip will work with the base, but you must purchase the Vkb-Thrustmaster adapter shown here: https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=vkb-sim-tm-warthog-adapter-for-gunfighter It says Warthog, but it will also work for the Cougar grip. Yes, exactly, as long as you buy the adapter. Unfortunately, no. The Cougar TQS uses a 15-pin connector that is not in use on the Gunfighter. You can either purchase an adapter that makes it stand alone USB (Realsimulator, per Sokol's suggestion), buy another throttle option (Warthog throttle standalone for example), use your existing Cougar and just have the stick set off to the side, or wait and see what VKB and Virpil come up with. There are other options for standalone throttles, such as this: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/28738-metal-throttle-consoles/#entry470815
  17. Hi Wolf, I'm running into the same issue with my current setup. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to have two dedicated chairs, one for fixed wing, and one for rotary wing, or just one for both. I currently have an Obutto Ozone, which I've found is not a good setup for floor mounted controls. This is because the cyclic can't seem to be placed on the floor close enough to the front of the chair due to how the chair mount sits on the floor. As far as the Flightlink base, I'm not sure I would go with that setup with Yogi's controls, as his controls are meant to go all the way to the floor. I think that collective would be too long, unless he does a custom control for you. The MaxFlightStick setup is good, if you are good with using a desk and basic chair (I had an old RC Simulations MRVC setup that I used a steel folding chair with that worked alright). Again, though, that collective is pretty short compared to the floor mounted one Yogi makes, so I'm not sure any mounting system would work for that (not aware of anything on the market, other than Wheelstand which is for racing/HOTAS setups). Personally, I'm going with a system from Monstertech. https://www.monstertech.de/en/product-category/sim-rigs/ The space on the floor in front of the chair is open, so a floor mounted stick is able to be put in there. They also have a center mounted joystick mount if I want to use the Gunfighter I have on order, or my Warthog. I plan on using the stick shifter add-on as a collective mount. Everything is adjustable, so I should be able to figure something out. I know Yogi is working on a collective housing that should simplify mounting the collective, but no word yet on a cyclic mount. I've seen stated by Yogi himself (either here, or on his website) that his controls are meant to be mounted to a floor, and there is a little bit of DIY assembly required with those controls. Unfortunately, it seems as though you might be stuck with coming up with something on your own if you want to go with Microhelis.de.
  18. Thanks Yogi. Hopefully your situation improves, and try not to work too hard! This is all in the name of fun when you boil it down.
  19. Looks like a nice seat. Was there a center mounted stick in that motion sim?
  20. Another question for Yogi: Will we be able to select which button on the cyclic is the force trim release when the base becomes available?
  21. Actually, it looks like it is USB, but with serial ports to attach other controllers. Still pretty steep at $4000.00.
  22. Generally I play DCS in VR, but I do play sims on a monitor as well. Did you buy something from eBay, or new from an online store?
  23. Hello all, I just purchased a new sim it from Monstertech to replace my Obutto Ozone. I know I could probably just take the seat from my Obutto to bolt onto the new rig, but I think I would like to have the option to either have two separate setups, or get rid of the complete Ozone set after I get the Monstertech set. At any rate, I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for a goo seat to bolt onto the rig based on experience with your builds. From what I understand, it doesn''t have to be anything special, just basically like a car or racing seat that has adjustable tracks on the bottom for fore/aft adjustment. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
