Keine Ahnung.

Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread
Tiramisu replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in DCS Modding
I have an issue: Today I have bought the advanced version of tacview on Steam, but when I double click on any acmi-file, then only a blank mission will be opened in tacview without the actual recording. It is still possible for me to open acmi-files within tacview by clicking File => Open, but that is cumbersome for me, because I have to close tacview every time I start another mission in DCS to save performance on my PC. Having to do all those additional clicks very often affects my workflow. When I had the non-steam version of tacview, I was able to open acmi-files very easily by just double-clicking them in windows explorer. Also I was able to open multiple copies of tacview. Now I cannot do these stuff any more since I have the steamversion. Should I refund it or is there any fix for my problem? -
Nope. It's just a few modules:

7.1 GB update at 6 MB/s on Steam. I am happy with that. :)
-
Does that mean, that AI UH-1 helos can attack other helos now? In my missions the AI did not even have gunners, even though I put miniguns in their loadout (or maybe I did not notice the AI using them). More detailed explanations about these fixes would be nice. In some situations I got very confused by the unintuitive behavior of the AA modes of the Hornet. Btw. thank you very much for the normandy update. I am excited to see the changes ingame. :)

Wow, this is ridiculous. How dare you, Paypal?
-
That sounds extremly cool. I hope there is a wishlist thread for that in the Harrier forum. :(
-
How is that function for the wind correction called in the Harrier? I have not found anything in the documentation, yet.
-
I remember my own thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=253663 Basically, if your weaponsystem does not support wind corrections, then you should attack along the wind direction and use ripple mode.

Hmm... that is interesting. I guess even the devs might be surprised how reliable the JF-17 is. :D Edit: The reason for my assumption was not that I am biased against non-western aircraft whatsoever. I just secretly hoped to get an unreliable aircraft with interesting quirks.
-
The JF-17 is supposed to be a cheap aircraft, so probably in real life it is not very reliable. I.e. failures might be an important aspect for this aircraft, which is why I wonder how realistic system and engine failures are simulated for the JF-17. I know that by default the chance of failures in DCS is usually very small, but mission creators could try to use realistic probability values for the available aircraft failures.

There is gun ammo in the F-14 for this mission, but you need to set the ammo-counter yourself, if you have started up the F-14. Else the counter will always show 0.

There are different ways for being at the bandit's 6. 6 oclock is just a rough description that you are behind someone. I have yet to find out what exactly triggers the endless AI looping-loops, but in some cases they make some nice maneuvers other than just looping, even when you approach them from their 6 (at least for WW2 aircraft this is true). On the other hand though, once the AI got in that loop, it will not stop unless its pursuer stops being on its 6 or when the AI runs out of fuel.
-
Whether the AI gets trapped in that looping-loop is dependent on how you approach the AI. If you get very close to their six, then the AI looses its creativity and just starts looping, but from slightly different angles you can see some interesting AI maneuvers. So currently the AI improvements are not always visible.

I have noticed that the AI keeps its heading towards its ground target, after it has dropped weapons like GBU-bombs. It only changes its course after the dropped weapon has exploded. Instead the AI should fly away from the target after dropping its weapon, even when the AI still needs to lase its target. I have tried to use a lua script to make the AI switch waypoints after dropping its bomb, but that resulted in a bug, where the AI kept flying along its heading without following any waypoint or going RTB.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. :(

On reddit I was reading that you can use ammo trucks to rearm SAMs, but I do not always want to use trucks. Sometimes I just want to use an ammo box for smaller units like manpads. So I am looking for a general guide or a lua script for how to rearm the AI or even human players (if they have Combined Arms). It would be also nice to allow only certain weapons to be rearmed. I am a little bit stuck on this topic.

Nah, actually I just wanted to know, if I can wait for the Wintersale on Steam to gain more experience for buying the JF-17. You can hate me now if you like. :D
-
For how long will the EA sale continue? Until the end of this month?
-
Why? Currently in DCS each SD-10 is an earth shaking weapon that can blast almost everything from the sky. You are going to by a flying SA-10! Meanwhile the Mirage III is still in the PAF and can only carry one SARH missile, when it will come to DCS. :megalol:
-
I am not sure if that is what the opening post is talking about. If he is talking about the AI, then your wingmen always give o'clock-headings with respect to their own heading, wheares allied flights from other groups give BRA-information. I wish the AI wingmen would also use BRA-calls once they break out of formation (wishlist @ED :music_whistling:).

I do not own the JF-17, yet. So how does the flight behavior feel like? Is it comparable to other fly-by-wire aircraft like the Hornet? Does it have any interesting quirks or can you feel high AOAs? What about the new systems like IFF or the ground radar? Anything interesting to mention about them?
