  1. I also like to think I sit somewhere in the middle, so very much agree with this. While F22xRaptor could have perhaps been more... diplomatic, I believe they have brought attention to some of the frustrations within the community. Whether some might find them legitmate or not is irrelevent; they're there. You're probably right, so what are those circumstances? Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't expect HB to air their dirty laundary, nor would I expect them to make any promises they can't keep (including giving specific dates). Just a little info. No matter what a dev does they'll get criticised. However, I've been on the forums for a long time and I honestly don't think the keeping quiet strategy has ever been the best option.
  2. Nah, once you take people's money everything changes. While I'm not too bothered we've not got the module or had any decent news yet, I do think the lack of any communication is poor.
  3. Aircraft development is interesting. It's seems to follow a similar pattern to this: It was initially difficult to get jets to go supersonic, until the developed things like area rule airframes and moving inlet ramps, yet they've gone full circle and it seems they're not needed anymore.
  4. Or at high latitudes, but that doesn't apply in DCS. Thanks for confirming!
  5. That's what I remember too.
  6. There was no ability to set failures at all when the Hornet first came out, now we have some. Hopefully we'll get more as time goes on, and you'll be able to simulate this scenario.
  7. Ah I see what you're getting at. It does change with altitude though, so keep that in mind as that can obviously change quite quickly.
  8. It most certainly does. What ever gave you the idea it was constant?!
  9. Not if you've lost all hydraulics, no.
  10. No getting away from EA, now modules are so complex. Developers just need to get better with their PR. In this regard while I don't have any big problem with the way Heatblur have gone about things, I think they could do better.
  11. Er, how so?
  12. I have good hardware and still use a bit of a curve. It helps me.
  13. Thanks for that. I get the same. I'm sure that's not right.
  14. Did you pull the lever all the way out? What did you see with the control overlay? I should have taken a screen shot. Will have to wait until tomorrow.
  15. Yes I believe the hornet should work the same way. Yes that's exactly what I'm saying. It has nothing to do with your toe brakes though. Start a mission hot without touching them, press CTRL ENT, pull the emergency brake and watch the brake get applied. You now can't move forward.
  16. No harm done. If you find something different let me know. I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but it's always possible I've made a mistake.
  17. Do you mean find it on the skin file? If so, I'd say so because I'm not sure what you're looking for.
  18. What are you talking about? Any time. Pulling the lever activates the brakes, that's it.
  19. I wonder if any of those terms are really appropriate for DCS anymore. It's common for titles these days to release without all of their planned content, but it's usualy much more clear cut what's missing and when you'll get it (e.g. more maps for Battlefield). Missing content/early access doesn't tend to result in the 'alpha' label being placed on those, so why DCS? Sure, we have to wait for modules to be feature complete, but what constitutes feature complete is far far more than it ever was before. 'Early access' I expect, is a system here to stay. ED/their partners and third parties have set the bar so high we don't expect anything less than totally modelled aircraft. While this can be frustraiting, this genre is a niche of a niche; we're fortunate anyone manages to make this a business at all.
  20. Very nice, thanks.
  21. Unfortunately that point ends with 'debugging'; that wouldn't include new features if taken at face value. I hope you're right however.
  22. Good info thanks guys.
  23. Sorry for the slight hijack - what does the latent bit of LTWS refer to? Thanks.
