  1. Thats for the TAF datalink
  2. You have the Aero on order right?
  3. It will be in the next update on friday.
  4. Its mostly the crossed out part. But a bit more complicated.
  5. Yeah it would be really nice for ED to sort this out and fix it. Its a big issue on several MP servers.
  6. Pretty sure thats the plan, the radar stuff flat out will be used in the F15, and most likely the 23. And the TAF DL, is at least in basic form similar to lazur to consider it a beta test for that DL.
  7. Yeah, but AFAIK we don't differentiate this in the DCS cat do we? At any rate it would be nice to have an option for jester to re-align the jet without having to fully shut down/startup.
  8. Would the handset alignment work fine on the ground?
  9. That was more or less my thinking. Its way easier to just swap out some ram at later point. Though, RN, there is no RAM, but then again, I'm waiting on a conversion kit for my cooler too so its just what it is for now. Also, got some links to those overclocks?
  10. So, as I said, the 2000C with the RDI and 530D, wasn't a thing for most of the 1980's. Lets assume your 87 date is in fact an actual operational date not some rosey eyed oh we have like 1 working plane and 2 missiles that are "technically" working which most of those dates usually are. So lets see lemme do some math, 1980-1987 thats 7 years. Then 1987-1990 is 3 years. So, last I checked 7>3. So, I'd say my statement that the RDI 2000 and the 530D werent a thing for most of the 80's is in fact pretty accurate. Also at no point did I even bring in some block25 viper into the conversation. Also I'd be curious since we have a 2000's era M2Kc what sort of upgrades did the RDI, and 530D get over the course of the 90's.
  11. Maybe shut down fully and restart? IRL IDK, alot of planes needed special equipment to "align" on the boat, harrier is one of em. So its entirely plausible the tomcat did too IRL and maybe thats not entirely reflected in the startup procedure or maybe thats why you can't just align it anywhere.
  12. Barely... During the majority 80's the M2k had RDM and 530F... Like only at the very last year or two did it get RDI and 530D. And even then thats mostly on paper. Hell in 86 they had squadrons with F1's and 530 (not F) flying around. At any rate I look forward to this new radar model, its about time we get some better sensor modeling in DCS and I really don't care which Dev's do it, be it Raz or Deka, and hopefully ED will follow suite.
  13. Likewise, esp since it was available before the proc release.
  14. Yeah, in that same boat, or you can pay scalper prices on ebay. Best estimate is about 2 weeks/early december it should start to be more available.
  15. I'm not optimistic since we haven't seen radar or weapons modes yet. I bet the cyrano is gonna be hard to code based on that manual that was posted here. But it will come when it comes and I will buy it when it does. No point in worrying too much about it.
  16. A bit late to this party... I run like 80gb of ram, and I routinely see DCS use like 30, and it does go over 32 here and there but not by a ton, and I'm not sure if its really that relevant if you only have 32. At any rate, I'm updating to DDR5 once I can actually find some, and I'm gonna try 32 at first. The only thing there that worries is the much higher CL timings, but I guess that's partly offset by the improved bandwidth.
  17. I mean no firm dates have been set. They were shooting for a Q2 release this year, but well we are in Q4 at this point sooo. But as you can see from the airshow it looks like alot is already done, what we haven't seen are things like radar/weapons stuff aside from the gun mode shown. And I'm gonna guess that the Cyrano is taking them alot of time to do right. Plus having to add a new weapon (530 and 530F and the 550) is probably not trivial either. That all being said I'd love to see the F1 in the next month or so, but unless all the stuff I mentioned is already done and working well I kinda doubt it at this point, so I'm recalibrating my expectations for Q1/Q2 next year.
  18. Yeah, I'm not really sure what their actual plans are for EA release with the F1, but I would assume its gonna have some basic fox1, fox2 capability and then probably some dumb bombs n rockets. Alot will depend on how detailed they do the radar for release or if there will be modes missing.
  19. That sounds great, thats one of the "heavy" environments that always starts to approach slide shows.
  20. I honestly hope that the new "flir" model is actually more functional in the sensor sense rather than just a graphical rework and things like Diurnal Cylces and such get modeled, as well as IR contrast and reflection issues. And then it also gets added to things like IRST's that potentially have issues with say ground clutter, or sky clutter (and don't see through clouds).
  21. Hope in one hand should probably the official anthem of DCS
  22. For the 29 not that hard, the 29 is the pass round girl of aviation, everyone has had a ride.
  23. Below 11 is great, 11-22 is ok, above 22 is bad
  24. Yeah I agree as far knowing the "Broad" understanding of how seekers work when it comes to jammer effects or flare effects. Again, when it comes to things like flares people have this "color-blind" idea that its just "hot" and in reality its far far more complex. And in more cases like the docs you posted, when they show some IR image, yeah thats great, but aside from the aim-9x, a missile "doesn't" really "see" like that, especially in cluttered environments. There very real reasons IRST's were dropped by alot of nations from the 50s-90's and most of them have to do with clutter/false positives, which had fighters intercepting "hot" clouds or rocks and such. Missiles primarily worked because at very short ranges there was sufficient signal and contrast, but even then there were plenty of issues historically.
  25. Yeah the problem tends to be what you consider "multi-spectral" flares/chemistry vs single. And then the historical research to figure all that out, of who had what when.
