  1. This is exactly right. When it came to developing combat skills, the German military was well known for its work ethic and perseverance. Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Denmark, Norway, France, Belgium, Netherland, Luxembourg, and Greece. Not to mention short trips to England. Yeah, compared to Germany, the U.S. military, and fighter pilots especially, were just a bunch of couch potatoes.

    DLSS 4

Perfect, thank you. Mine is already set to "Latest", so I assume that's due to the Profile Inspector setting.

Would you mind posting a screenshot where you’re using this option? I see an option for this, but for me it’s grayed out.

    DLSS 4

Yes, I saw that but hadn’t acted on it yet, thanks

From what I've seen, the DCS default preset is C, so I'm still using the profile inspector.
  6. Yes. Bignewy said Steam pre-purchase will come when they have a release date. That appears to be a Steam requirement.
  7. Ditto! The Mirage III is probably my second highest wish for a module after the F-8 Crusader. Alas, I doubt we'll see either one anytime soon.
  8. Their A-4’s were very successful attacking low-level with dumb bombs. I think they accounted majority of British ships losses.
  9. If you're talking about the HMS Sheffield, it was with an Exocet missile.

    ACL Tomcat

Any chance you can direct me to an online NATOPS source that references that? I know you can't post it here.

So you’re saying without DLC engaged the hook angle isn’t at the optimum angle to trap? I don’t have a NATOPS or I’d look myself

    ACL Tomcat

I’m not grasping this. Do you have a reference I can look at that explains this?
  13. FWIW My G2 still works with Win 11
  14. It would be an interesting statistic to know. But I would guess otherwise
  15. It’s a small point, but if I had to bet, I’d say Hornets land on runways more than carriers.
  16. Times and technology change. After about 45 years, I’d say it’s a non-issue.
  17. I don't remember the name but there's an external lights master on/off switch on the throttle

    DCS : F4U-1 Corsair

Are they just teasing us now!?!?!?!?
  19. Yes, this is stimulated the little grey cells. The VSIs I was remembering were all "IVSI"s. It's been a long time.
  20. Fair enough. I can't speak for all airplanes, but the ones I've flown have had the altimeter lag the VVI. I'm speaking of jet aircraft. I don't really remember props. Also, I remember referring to it as a VSI
  21. Isn’t it the opposite with the altimeter lagging the VVI?
  22. Threads like this always make me wonder how many people are actually just guessing. I mean, I have 4000 hours of flight time but I have no clue about the nuances of the F-16 flight control system.
  23. STAB 12 (up) is the normal takeoff position. It defaults to that on startup so your systems are working as intended.
  24. Thanks. That's news to me
  25. The F1 view is first-person, isn’t it? How do you expect to see the helmet?
