  1. What you describe is not a fix, but rather for the IC to do something it isn't currently designed to do. You're asking for a modification for additional functionality.
  2. That's just the thing though. There is no officially accepted definitions for the different generations of aircraft. All valid points, but I stand by my opinion of the F-14.
  3. I have the same opinion except not specifically because of the lack of FBW. IMO Looking at the F-14 there was nothing really revolutionary about it so much as it represented the apex of existing technology. Nothing really new came about until the F-16 with its exclusive FBW controls. But that is probably a tangent best left for a different thread. No point in high jacking this one.
  4. Then the original question stands: What did ED mean in the change log by, "VR. Added free cam mode."?
  5. Interesting. I know LCTRL + F11 worked in 2d because I use is often, but I have no firsthand knowledge of it in VR prior to the last update. The prevalent opinion above seems to be that it wasn't working for VR. I wonder if it somehow broke at some point after 2017, requiring a fix?
  6. Correct. I had modified my last post to mention that.
  7. If you can get the cockpits fixed, then yes, do that. Until then this is the best, and possibly simplest, alternative available. Having said that, adjusting the Force IPD Distance value while in the jet isn't necessarily that arduous either, since you can do it without leaving the cockpit.
  8. Was it working in VR?
  9. This. In retrospect I should have added additional detail, but you covered it exactly.
  10. If CTRL + F11 wasn't working in VR before, it is now. I just confirmed it for myself.
  11. So far, this is the best post of 2022 Thank you, sir, for taking the time to provide that.
  12. It would be nice if each aircraft could have its own assigned value for Force IPD Distance.
  13. That sounds like the perfect setup for you.
  14. Yes, there is that. Mine is paired with a Virpil CM3 throttle so plenty of switches there.
  15. Very true but that's still three more than the Navy F-4's
  16. Exactly this. I have one and love it, but I have it mounted as a center stick on my chair, low enough that my right arm lightly rests on my leg. I would not use it mounted too high such as on a desk, or as a side stick.
  17. And I forgot about the MiG-17 that's in the development.
  18. Sure. But when I said "instant" I meant the dedicated dogfight servers that do drop you right into the furball or 1v1 engagements. Doing that in F-8's, F-4's, etc without any 4th gen fighters in the mix is going to be exciting.
  19. I didn't know about that particular server, but I have it saved as a favorite now, thanks. It does have the modules that are currently available, but it is about to get even more interesting with the many new modules in development. And yes, the dynamic campaigns are fun, but I was mostly thinking of the air quake instant action type servers. Sorry, but I am addicted.
  20. But it's no less modern than an early Super Hornet.
  21. Yep, I remember.
  22. If I remember correctly the Navy took advantage of a cancelled order and purchased some of the F-16's intended for Pakistan. It may have been that at least some of the jets had already been built.
  23. People say that but then there's the Typhoon that's in development.
  24. Is there anyone else looking forward to the possibility for having a Cold War dogfight server populated with the F-4, F1, F-5, MiG-21, MiG-19, F-8, Viggen, G-91, MiG-23, and A-7 (what do you think, suicide?). And, yes, even the F-86 and MiG-15?
  25. I would offer the most important thing is for developers to be very, very clear about the state of a module when it is released into Early Access. If potential customers know what features are included and what is still pending they can make an educated decision on when to buy.
