ich hab mir erst vor kurzem wieder Top Gun angesehen. Ihr müsst mal von dem ganzen Fachwissen ausgehen das wir haben. Und trotz dem finde ich ihn echt gut gemacht und ohne allzugrobe Schnitzer. Ja, die Story, aber ok, es ist nunmal Top Gun und nicht Cloud Atlas...

Was issn jetzt los? Was war denn GCI bei Topgun 1??? Top Gun 1 war eigentlich voerdammt cool, vorallem wegen der vielen, verschiedenen realen Aufnahmen. Gab wohl lange keinen anderen Film mit so vielen Aufnahmen. Flight of the Intruder ist da aber auch absolut ganz vorne dabei. Ich hatte an Top Gun 2 nurll Erwatrtungen, aber der Trailer hat mich äusserst positiv gestimmt. Ebenso die Ansage das wohl sehr stark auf CGI verzcihtet wird. Und das was Shagrat sagt könnte wohl wirklich die Basis zu einer guten Story bringen:

AB use is prohibited on the B, thats why we need the A soon ;).

I spawned yesterday on the Tarawa on a private MP server. External server, Tarawa was empty, two Harrier slots on it. The fourth attemp let me spawn. Just to see that the lightings on the Tarawa are only on one eye and the radio communication is not working. Maybe they are able to fix all those bugs before we have DCS 4.5...

Imagine the shitstorm when the Phoenix will be modeled correct and does not hit anything anymore when loosing the target after firing and the WCS never sends the signal for going active *ggg*. (Don't ask me how often I have seen that "fire and forget" behavor online)

Nicwe to know, I always thought that the C is nothing more then a revision. Like on the US aircrafts.... So what does the other letters/numbers stand for? Like N, 5 or D etc... (N is easy I gues...)

Ewig schade dass man solche Mods nicht in eine Mission einbauen kann :-/ Das Mod installieren und deinstallieren für solche Objekte ist echt mühsam...

Hmmm, mal ansehen... Ich verstehe nicht dass denen bei ED selbst nicht auffällt dass man weder mit TrackIR noch mit VR die Moving map ertragen kann...

Which tanker are you training? KC-130 with 250kts IAS is by far the easiest as it has the biggest "box" where you connect and stay connected. F-18 is very, very easy to refuel, Tomcat is a harder job, correct. Why do you need rudder? I barely use rudder while refueling. Maybe a little bit when flying circle during refueling. You always look at the tanker and never at the basket. Check the basket only with your spherical seeing. You are flying formation with the tanker, the refueling ist just little thing by the way... As everything in life it is only a matter of training :). Invest some hours and you will see that it is also not a big deal with the cat...

With Anti-Skid on, during land operations, NWS button needs to keep pressed for steering, otherwise its in cast mode. With Anti-Skid off, during carrier operations, NWS is permanently activated and NWS button gets you to nws-hi.

They have yet not even managed to get the 4-way working...

Kann man eigentlich irgendwo die Schrift der Moving map nachstellen, so dass man sie auch an lassen könnte ohne Augenkrebs zu bekommen?

I guess the problem of shaking in the backseat while standing on the carrier with running engines on multiplayer seems to be an ED netcode issue. I'm pretty sure that the F-14 makes you a mich better Pilot because you need a lot more senses to fly it. Not just watching the HUD. I still like the comparsion of the F-18 as minivan and the F-14 as muscle car. Not because it down sets the bug, just because it is really applicable.

Aktueller Markatanteil: 1070: 4,31% 1080: 2,58% 1080 Ti: 1,55% 980 Ti: 0,45% Wird dann mit den 20er bald nicht anders aussehen, denn die 2070er hat ein sehr guts P/L Verhältnis (bei den aktuellen Preisen, LOL) und bereits jetzt schon 1,16% Marktanteil... Nein, 1080Ti User wecheln nciht auf 2070 Super. Aber auf 2080Ti.

A model of the Phoenix has a seperate cooling system. Thats why the Fwd position. C model has no seperate cooling system and "works like" the Aim 7 or Aim 9. Just check the NATOPS, its described there. Thats why two positions. However, it would still be intresting what would happen if there is no A loaded and the Switch is fwd. If an A model is loaded and the switch is aft, "MSL COND" caution light will light and no cooling to the Phoenix happens. No idea if it have any consequences in DCS. However, clarification on also those fauilures / cosnequences qould be great.

Definitiv 2070 Super weil neuer (längerer und besserer Treibersupport, die 2070 wird vielfach öfter verbaut sein als eine 1080Ti) und stromsparender. Noch dazu vergleicht man Neupreis mit Gebrauchtkauf. Da gäbe es für mich nicht viel zu überlegen. Und wenn noch Zeit, dann würde ich sowieso auf jeden Fall noch warten.

Please HB, can you clarify on the actual state of the cooling simulation of the WCS including the damage? Situation (please correct me if something is wrong): The WCS needs proper cooling to be allowed to turned to Stdby or On. Cooling consist of two parts, the cooling circuit, and actual airflow for cooling. The cooling circuit is the first thing, and can be turned on as soon as electric power (or hydraulic pressure? please clarify) is available. Fwd if an Phoenix A is on board, Aft if no A is on board. IIRC Natops says that the circuit needs to run for 1 minute before further tasking? The cooling air is the second thing. It can either be achieved by turning air source to anything else then off while the engines are running, or turning ground cooling on while ground air supply is applied. If the cooling circuit is running, and air flow is available, the WCS is allowed to be turned out of off. So my question is: Is there actually any kind of damage modelled, if anything of those steps is not done correct, and if, what? IIRC NATOPS says, that damage occours after 3 minutes operating without cooling. The ground cooling is not implemented yet, will it in the future? Thank you very much:thumbup:
