  1. Typische Schilderung der Alltagsprobleme eines Hornet Piloten. Da können die Turkeydriver nur schmunzeln xD.
  2. Tomcat release has been nearly a half year ago. Its an outstanding module which is outstanding done by you guys. Congratulations. Although it has a quite high completion grade, a lot of functions are still missing. Since release of the early access version, there was mainly done bug fixing. Also there was none progress on the Viggen. According to the first posting in this thread, personal I'm looking forward and can hardly await nearly every single one of that missing features. So can you give us some hints of what to expect in the near future? Or what the actual plans are?
  3. Whats blocking your view when looking behind from the correct position? The headrest? That is quite realistic that it is there and you can't view through...
  4. PD and SteamSS do the same. Don't use both of them, just one. I'm running with SteamSS on 150% (make sure that you set that as general, or DCS specific) and PD 1.0. Looks better for me, and performs better then SteamSS 100% and PD 1.5. Pd 1.5 and SteamSS 150% should be the same.
  5. Even if the MLC is turned off, there is still the zero doppler filter. So you won't detect a target that is moving away from you with +/- 100kts. Whtas the "best" is not always a safe answer. it depends a lot on the situation. There is a real cool chart where all radar modes are summed up, however, I won't post it here cause of forum rules. Personaly: When doing CAP, i go for RWS with full bars and degrees. When its getting hot, I go for TWS. PD-STT or P-STT depends on the situation. I only change to pulse if I know that he must be there somewhere, but I can't find him in TWS. Pulse is extreme powerrful and awesome to operate, however, due to no filter its also not easy to operate. Especialy under stress.
  6. Playing VR since ~50 hours. Never had that problem, yesterday evening it occoured for the first time. i forst thought that I hit a wrong btton in DCS, but as it was also there in the Cliff House after I left DCS, it seems clear that It does not have to do anything with DCS.
  7. O+ here and also feels that last two patches have decreased the performance, and also the optics.
  8. Thx, will give that a try. I only opened a Windows in the Cliff House and it was not able to stay there when I went to SteamVR, so I thought it will not work.
  9. You guys realized that the VR movement is limited already? Did you ever tried to get REAL CLOSE to the side consoles? The warning lights on the harrier? The weapon wheel in the Tomcat RIO pit? I would welcome it, if that restriction would be gone, and a canopy restriction would be there. I don't see any "immersive" problems with it. Its glas. I just can't go further. To go through the glass is a more breaking experience.
  10. Tested it today with the Viggen on the NTTR map and everything was fine, so was the NTTR not affected?
  11. Thick8, have you managed to get that working? I was not able to "drag the window with me" to SteamVR... AMVI_Rider: Thats what I would need it for: uhhbQBYJGVk Google Chrome because I can do within the browser everything I need.
  12. Your project sounds very cool, but as I understand, you need a tablet to use it? Or is it possible to use a chrome browser tab?
  13. For both.
  14. It is not only a drop-down menu, you can also just write numbers in there for custom resolutions.
  15. Yes, Hornet has exactley the same problems. Seems to be DCS related.
  16. Just tested it quickly on the NTTR map and it seems to be fixed.
  17. Ok, so I may have found now a way which seems really quite doable for me. However, its still a lot of work and I would prefer some native, better solution. As Nealius suggested, I use now OpenVR to capture the VR stream on the right eye. Recording it with 1440p is near the native resolution of the HMD and is not a problem with only a 1080p monitor. While viewing the video with VLC I can make screenshots and crop them to 1080p. This gives quite good results as you can see from our yesterday training session attached. To say that I'm happy would be too much, but at least its a working solution. It feels quite better and more doable then Jabbers approach with a virtual monitor. Will try now to cut the recording and see how a whole video feels after de-shaking and cutting.
  18. A PD of 2.3 is not normal and I can't imagine that this would help anything, especially with an Rift. Are you sure that you have not meant 1.3? You will be just blocked with the resolution of the HMD. I use a O+ with SteamSS 150% and PD 1.0. This is perfectly fine and all the HMD can do. I can read (not guess) the speed gauge on the Tomcat without leaning forward. Perfectly sharp. I can read all labels in the Hornet without zooming. I can read nearly all labels in the Tomcat without zooming. I fly the ball from one mile. But, no matter what I do, i barely can read the warning lights on the harrier on ther lower right side (at your right knee, not the warning lights on the UFC). Of course, I'm not moving my initial seat position, moving the head down is blocked very soon and also VR Zoom does not help anything. Also the font on the MFDs are a real pain. So maybe a Reverb is that over the top headset which makes that possible, but I can remember that they have been already hard to read on the normal screen.
  19. I guess the actual DCS performance problems (and yes, they are there) will be more noticeable on VR then Screen, because VR is simple much more on the edge of playable fps.
  20. Tried that, but the window does not "go with me" to SteamVR :-/.
  21. Nunja, gerade bei der Hornet geht eh gut was weiter. (Finde ich)
  22. Anybody knows if it got fixed and just not mentioned in the changelog?
  23. Oh, I thought you were talking about the Kneeboard.
  25. That makes me ask what cockpits you find worse in VR? In my opinion: M2k and Mig21 are on the same "bad" level. F-5, A10 and Huhey are a little bit better. Tomcat, Viggen, FW190 are much better. Hornet is by far the best in readability in VR.
