  1. Interesting debate, fellas. Been trying to follow along as best I could, lol. Figured I'd jump back in to say there's a very good chance I will take my soon-to-be-purchased drive (that will be DCS only) from my current PC and put it in my next PC, which will probably have a Z790 board. I think I'm leaning towards getting a Gen4 drive now, since I can use it in both systems, even though I won't see those speeds on my Z390. FWIW, I did some more looking into my PC and how I installed everything. My OS is actually on a 2.5" SSD, not that SATA M.2, not that it really makes a difference I guess.

  3. Yeah, I've been referencing the MoBo setup for M.2 ports and SATA ports. I have 2x 2.5" SSDs into SATA 1 & 2 right now, so I need to figure out where the new drive will go. Can't remember where my current M.2 is on the board either. So, this brings up another question. Not speaking to which slots are active/inactive at this point in relation to SSD placement... in general, will the PC still recognize moving an M.2 from one spot to another? I'm pretty sure I put my current M.2 in slot 1 (just can't see for sure).

  5. I didn't realize it at the time, but I have DCS on a SATA m.2 drive from when I built my PC several years ago. I only realized it now that it's full and I can't update DCS, and have been shopping for a new one. I'm going to get a larger SSD for DCS, probably 2 TB, but I want an NVME. My question is, is it worth it to go with something like the WD Black SN850X/Samsung 990 Pro? Or would a WD Black SN770/Samsung 980 Pro still do fine? Just don't know how much of a difference it'd make vs price. I'm on a 9600k (4.9 OC), 32 GB RAM, and 2080Ti. Planning a new build in a few months, but still want to play in the meantime. Just need the room. Thanks!

  7. I am still learning MOOSE, but do you need spaces between the parenthesis in some of those? ( "Oscar" ); ( 0, 0 , 10000 ); ( 600 ); ( 30, 0 ) ?? I'm sure someone that actually knows MOOSE will chime in though!
  8. Question regarding A2A Dispatcher... What would make my Blue F-16 AI planes fire on other Blue aircraft?? They're killing anything and everything in the air, red or blue, doesn't matter. If it moves, it dies. One just shot my Huey down, lol. I've never seen this behavior, but that doesn't mean much, haha. Edited to add that it had been a red-only set up initially, which had been running fine. I only added the blue side tonight and that's when I noticed the friendly fire. I copy/pasted a lot of the red stuff in the script for the blue side, so maybe I forgot to change one of the parameters? Edit again - Think I figured it out. Made separate scripts for both red and blue sides. Seems to be working fine now. Still learning this stuff; I guess maybe you can't make red and blue into the same script file?

  11. I ran a search in this forum for "runway repair," which pulled a bazillion results, none of which seemed relevant. Anyone know if it's possible to repair a runway and return it to service after it has been bombed? I started working on a new mission where enemy flights will continually respawn (once destroyed) from their base, and the objective is to take their runway out to prevent them from departing. However, I'd like to be able to return the base to service after a certain amount of time has passed. I did a Google search as well, and thought I saw reference to runways being fixed after a 60 minute time period has elapsed, but that thread was really old and almost seemed like folks were saying it was a bug or a script. Thanks!
  12. You bet, thanks. Edit: Issue posted. Also, I wanted to ask: is anyone else experiencing this issue as well? I've used the CTLD script plenty in the past without issue, so I'm curious if it's happening to others or not. If not, it's probably just something on my end.

  14. Okay, so I went into the F10 map and clicked on a CTLD-spawned Hawk site. No special controls pop up when I click on one of the units. I see all the unit info, but not showing a control menu anywhere. I've checked all the mission settings, and can't find anything that would lead me to believe it has to be "checked/allowed." I guess I'm at a loss again, but thanks for the idea anyway!

  16. So this is something I’ve always wondered about- is there a way to change that and other ROE actions for a CTLD-spawned Hawk or other air defense system? I have another Hawk site that’s active from mission start (placed in Editor), and it works fine.
  17. Hey all, I threw a CTLD mission together so I could fly the Huey for a bit again. Is there a problem with the Hawk site right now? I saw comments here and there about AI behaving oddly, but thought it was just planes, etc. I've deployed some Hawk sites and they never track/engage enemy aircraft, so maybe this falls under the same AI issue?

Again, it just covers the basics. As for a CTLD Discord? No idea. There is a MOOSE Discord, if you want to go that route.
  19. Are you using a custom load out, or a preset load? I couldn’t get things to fire and then read you need to use a preset from the drop down box (most of the time). Started working for me.
  20. Some aircraft are better rate fighters and prefer a 2-circle fight. If you have two planes, nose-to-tail, chasing each other in the same circle, whoever can move around that circle more quickly would eventually catch the other one for a shot. Other planes, like the F-18, have a ton of nose authority and can really point the nose quickly. If you merge with someone and end up head-to-head in a 1-circle fight, the plane that can move the nose more quickly onto the other will have the first chance at a shot. Downside is you’re usually super slow after killing your energy for that shot, so make it count. That’s the general answer to your question I think, lol. Edit- didn’t watch the video. Just did a brief drive-by/response to your post.
  21. Thanks for the video, Flappie. Way worse on my end. I'll see if I can record and put up a video as well. Edit: Interesting, but my testing just now is better than it has been over the last few weeks. It's still not smooth, but better. I can keep track of my cursor whereas before it was like ollk22's issue of not being able to find it due to the stuttering. I would move my mouse maybe 1/2" or so at a time so I didn't lose the cursor. The only reason I can think that it's improved a bit is because we're here talking about it; it got concerned and is trying to act normal so it doesn't get removed from the Matrix, lol! I will keep any eye on it. Edit 2: Here's a link to the video. The cursor is running pretty smooth early on, but gets worse the longer the loading takes. How it's acting at the end (real choppy) is about as GOOD as it had been up till this testing for me. It's like it would start loading with it acting that choppy, and then continue to worsen as the loading continued. Again, no idea why, NOW, it's not doing that. I will try to catch it if it's acting up again.

  23. Yeah, that's probably more likely. I know the Su-27 and similar are usually pretty easy to knock down with the gun. Thanks!
  24. Don't know if it's a bug, or something weird going on in the server, but I just fought an invincible Su-27 on the Just Dogfight server, lol. Went through all of my ammo (F-18). It was missing the entire left wing, left horizontal stab, verticals were both shot up (jagged w/pieces missing), both engines were on fire, and right wing was smoking and leaking fuel. He flew around like nothing had happened. The only way the fight ended was me running out of ammo, and at the same time he ran out of gas. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a screen shot during the action, and I will say that the server (or my install?) was being weird at the end of the fight - I couldn't grab a new slot, return to spectators, or anything else. Had to disconnect. Don't know if anyone else has seen this, but thought I'd bring it up just in case.
  25. At the risk of sounding like Oculus Support, have you tried re-seating the cable at the headset? I have had issues in the past with my Rift S, and that resolved it. My display would get some static/snow in it, and it would occasionally lose tracking much like yours. However, unlike yours, mine lost total tracking. Really hope it's something simple like that, but I'm guessing they probably already had you go thru these steps. Good luck though!
