The 2.8 update brought the opposite of VR improvements for my system. On the Pimax I was on smooth 75% occupancy before now I am at stuttery 95% occupancy. Switching to the Varjo Aero I came from relatively smooth 90 fps down to 80 fps or even 75 fps. Same settings I did not change anything except the update. Also it takes a lot longer to display the ground. The water surface is displayed double the amount of time when jumping into a MP server. Dont know if related. Before the update DCS was smooth on the RTX 4090. Now I am back at where I was with the 3090. Please ED do something. Smooth frame rates in VR are more important than pretty looks. Here are my system specs. It really a decent system. null

I just joined the Varjo Community discord. And texted in the DCS channel whom to contact for beta drivers as I cant find the contact you were telling to contact. Cant find anything about "arch" on there.

@zildacHow did you get your hands on Beta drivers for the varjo. I need them too

I just update the Varjo Base software to 3.7.1.11 I was hoping the issue was already fixed. But it does not seem so... We still need to wait apparently.

Is the DTC app working on the latest DCS beta? Upload to jet gives a "unhandled exception" for me. Even if used as administrator. -
As the title says, sorry might be a noob question, but the search did not return anything useful. Can I just enter the coordinates of a waypoint somewhere instead of using "customize->set position" and eyeball a position while zooming in until I am close enough to the waypoint? I can click on the waypoint and go to the "edit" menu. But I can just alter speed and altitude but no coordinates there.

Same issue here too. Varjo Aero + 4090 = stutters. I also tried the studio drivers with no success. Please feel free to post a heads up here if someone finds a solution or if new varjo drivers or Nvidia drivers are rolled out to solve the issue.

I guess then it's the same when getting acquired by an aircraft with heat seekers. Pre flare is just useless until the bandit fires his sidewinder. That's disappointing

This is the input/info I was looking for. Of course I cant provide evidence as a gamer. But having played almost every F16 sim that was out on the market, I have the feeling that ED might be interested into having a closer look at how the idle thrust vs the tire friction and the break away force (not sure if the translation is correct) with the F16 standing still are correlated. In real life we have the friction and of course a much higher static friction that has to be overcome to get the jet moving. But from what I heared is that the idle thrust is sufficient to get the jet moving when not standing on the breaks. If the difference in weight between the many F16 blocks make the difference between having to stand on the breaks while in idle or not, I dont know.

There is a question I have since a long time. I was expecting while development of the DCS F16 progesses that it will start rolling in idle without the parking brake set. It is said that without the parking brake the idle thrust is enough to push a clean jet forward. Or does our block have some kind of automatic brake that engages while in idle thrust? Or is it just not true that idle thrust is sufficient to get a clean jet rolling.

In short: replace openvr_api.dll with the one from Gitlab or the one I attached. It works for me. Located at: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin Then create a shortcut and add in the "target" box: --force_steam_VR Now start DCS with that shortcut. Works for me with the Varjo Aero. openvr_api.dll

[OB 2.7.18.30348] AIM-120 does 40G loop/backflip when fired in maddog

One more aim120 loop here: Tacview https://www.dropbox.com/s/mfr7aio3bdy421k/Tacview-20220924-231213-DCS-mobettameta's Dogfight Arena v1.64.1.zipxAim120loop.acmi?dl=0 Track: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mfr7aio3bdy421k/Tacview-20220924-231213-DCS-mobettameta's Dogfight Arena v1.64.1.zipxAim120loop.acmi?dl=0 Its at the end of the tack, I disconnected when it happened. My name was "player" -
But it was in todays update. Will there be a Wags tutorial on it? The manual has not been updated with it yet.

What is PFLD? Some kind of FLCS failure? What happens if you run into it?

Okay got it. As stated we dont have motion reprojection / motion smoothing, but the common practice is to lock the Aero to 45 fps to avoid juddering. Which is like irregular stutters. But without motion smoothing fast movements will always get double images, blurred edges until we have a motion smoothing / projection equivalent OR a GPU that can deliver steady 90 fps steady. Is that correct?
-
Can someone please give me a quick help here, what exactly Vsync does? Sorry noob question: But we dont have motion reprojection, got it. Which is like motion smoothing I guess. So what does Vsync do? What am I looking for to achieve with Vsync? It does reduce the frame rate to 45 fps and extrapolates the missing images to match 90 fps then? My system can achieve 60 fps. So it should be sufficient to keep 45 fps.
-
I tried it as described in the top most post. Works perfectly. But as we dont have motion reprojection, how do you guys get a smooth experience. If I roll the jet around I see the horizon split off with double vision. My system can achive 60 fps steady. Motion reprojection on or off does not help either.

Thanks. And is it actually the most efficient way warming up the virtual pilot? I imagine what you guys are doing is a 20 second 4 G warm up : 90 degrees left, 180 right, 90 left sounds like about 20 seconds to me.
