  1. If you are referring to the JHCMS "egg" its bugged. I have started two bug reports about two issues which are related. Locking the wrong aircraft and the target designator box being offset when trying to lock a target. Both issues are being investigated. As long that is what you mean, I am afraid we cant do anything about it until ED adresses the bugs..
  2. Wags is awesome and the entire team behind DCS and the third party develpers are awesome too. Quality products take time to develop. And this is what we get here in DCS, most people seem to forget that. Want a prove? Get the F14 for 40 $ for MSFS2020. This is not even an Alpha version yet. And we are just talking about the flight model here as weapons system dont exist in MSFS. Modern times, modern ways of budgeting DLCs. You buy the F16 and it will finance the upcoming DLCs as the previous ones did for the F16.
  3. Nope. Not a RAM issue on my end. 32 GB Ram and a RTX 3090 with 24 GB of Vram. The Hornet eats a lot of CPU power compared to the Viper. But the original poster had the opposite issue. Still curios if we can find a solution.
  4. Luckily warthog HOTAS users can bind it to a switch that stays in the brakes open position, so you can actually feel the position. Otherwise the tiny indication in the cockpit is your best friend.
  5. As far as I know will an open refuel door and gear change the behavior of the FLCS and the curves how stick input is processed. The DCS F16 had issues with rocking left and right, yawing. That is supposed to be gone. But I lately ran into it again. Will make a report soon.
  6. The thing is, before I started playing in VR I was not aware of that two things are needed for game performance. CPU needs to deliver the frame for the GPU in time. Otherwise you see stutters although the GPU is perfectly capable to deliver the requested frame rate. Do you play in VR? Can you install fpsVR? Or if non VR gaming, can you check the CPU frame time of the F16 and the F18?
  7. I forgot to mention. If you want to test what assymmetrical loadouts do you can really push it to the limit, loading one wing with bombs and keep the other clean. You can trim that out,but even a change in airspeed will mess up the trim and the F16 will start to roll. I think the F16 wont compensate for that is correct too, but nobody would fly with such an assymmetrcial loadout so the effect is barely noticable with a "realistic" loadout. With that configuration pull some Gs and create a high alpha situation the jet will roll and is very hard to control maybe due to high alpha or because pulling Gs changes airspeed or both. I dont know. I guess, like I said, that must be the limitations of a late 70ies jet FLCS.
  8. What we know is: The F16 is not built perfectly balanced laterally, it wont compensate for assymmetric loadout or assymmetric fuel states, the tanks have different volumes and are emptied sequentially, leading to a shift of the center of gravity depending on fuel state. The FM update needs to come with a FLCS update if ED works on the g onset. So the only thing that makes sense at this time is asking someone like Mover who has flown the F16 or an F16 engineer who knows about that stuff.... Or just trust ED they know what they're doing.
  9. Well I am experiencing the opposite issue. The F16 runs smooth but the F18 gives poor frame rates. Which comes from not a GPU bottleneck but from a CPU bottleneck the F18 produces. I can see that using FPSvr when playing in VR. Which makes sense that the F18 performs worse, becaue it already has more systems as a module compared to the F16. That will cause more CPU load I guess. But the other way around that the F16s frame rates perform worse than the F18 seems weird... Ryzen 9 5900x with RTX 3090 on my end. Which sounds like a capable system, but not when you connect a Pimax 8KX
  10. That process is really complex. So why dont you just include a track file or record a video of what youre doing? You can even record your PC when its playing back a track replay after you did a bombing run which produced the exact results you are talking about. Much better than screenshots.
  11. Would be nice to know in general. But seems somehow irrelevant for this topic now. Because it depends on fuel state for sure. See my video. Either left or right roll depeding on if the internal tanks are full or empty. My feeling is that this behavior, if it depends on the F16s order of emptying the fuel tanks, should be correct because the F16 does not compensate for assymmetric loadouts. So why should she do fo assymmetric fuel loading either. That thing is from the late 70ies and not flying cell phone like the F35.
  12. Disclaimer: What I am showing here is a fight against a stupid robot scripted AI Mig29 without a soul. On a MP server it could work (against a Mig29), but the outcome will not be as certain as with an AI Mig. And I am just a gamer and not a pilot. So everything you read here are just my observations but I could also be horribly mistaken instead. When I watch your video it looks like you want to get to the perfect shot position, in his control zone, by controlling your speed only. It sometimes looks like playing with the prey instead of remembering the most important rule: To kill as quick as possible. I am afraid what you want to achieve is very hard to do with the current FM and G modelling. Anyway: I realized you dont want to bleed you airspeed for a kill in that video and end up in a scissors. Watch my video when to bleed air speed. Remember: Your goal is to kill, not to maintain airspeed. Here is what works and what will happen 90 % of the time when you do it against AI, and it just takes one minute. Me and the Mig have 65 % fuel. Enter the merge slightly above corner speed. With full afterburner. Lead turn, because the AI does not know what that is, and his shots will miss. Dont go up with him, stay horizontal the first pass. Which also is an F16 rule. When you are getting too fast, use the stick to slow down by pulling GS. Reduce thrust only if you are almost blacked out. Thats the way it is now. A real F16 pilot can withstand 9 Gs for a very long time. But in DCS what you can just do is: speed up, pull until almost blackout and repeat. Now drag the Mig down on the deck. Nose position for optimizing the rate. Once on the deck, the AI will try to do a high yoyo just once. Then it will reverse turn and go up with a very low energy state. Here is where you bleed all your energy because he wont jink and you can easily kill him. Remember that was an stupid AI Mig and he does that every time. I know the dogfight server, I am a frequent visitor, and the F16 is clearly inferior in 1v1 there at the moment. If you enter a 1v1 you get roasted all the time. Because those dudes in the 1v1 slots just do that all day long. Most of them will roast me and maybe you too in any other aircraft. So dont worry. Go to the "guns only" area instead. Where people cant just focus on one bandit, but need to fight many. If you lose an attack, dont think about it, speed up, disengage, reset the fight, come back, fight another guy. Much more rewarding than those 1v1 fights which feel like almost a clincal surgery to me. When FM and G modelling of the F16 is updated, who knows how she will perform in MP 1v1 then.
  13. The speed of the cursor on the MFD seems to differ from the speed the cursor has on the FCR. Whats good on the FCR is still too fast for Maverics on the MFD. Seems to be a related issue.
  14. ED introduced it two updates ago. But it was bugged. It brought the lock over to the other modes but the lock got lost. I reported it. The next update it got even worse. Even the "no rad" symbology is bugged now. I dont know. As it is work in progress I think ED knows it. If the behavior above and the DGFT "no rad" symbology ( no rad and boresight cross shown simultaneosly) are not fixed the next update I will consider reporting the changed behavior again. Btw.: Thanks for the great video link!
  15. Same did I. Just keyboard input. @Mikaa said it is due to high alpha situations. So of course during take off you end up in a high alpha situation. Its two things. The jet rolling either left or right depending on fuel state while in the air under high alpha. But why is it also yawing when rolling on the runway? Could be one issue or two separate one. We need someone who knows about the F16s fuel management system if thats an issue in the real jet or if it is something just in the sim and if the FM update already has that on the list or if it needs to be reported.
  16. I have the leap motion module for the Pimax. I can not find any information on a hardware update from leap motion. When you do your testing try the demo app called "blocks" by leap motion. I think that is what DCS is being fed with. So if you find ways to improve stuff it would also improve in that app. This is how I test leap motion hardware. For example if the down left switches are hard to use in DCS I try the same positon in the "blocks" app. If it produces the same results its a leap motion issue. Not DCS.
  17. I have the feeling that the server admin who is called @Flighter here in the forum used to be active, like you said a year ago, for the last time. And it seems like the server just keeps running and running. Auto-updates itself. I dont know if Flighter pays for the sever and just does not care about it any more. No idea. One of the greatest servers without an active admin.
  18. Nice, another mystery to solve about the DCS F16. Take off with just 700 lbs of fuel and the F16 will roll to the right after take off, also yawing right a good amount on the runway. Take off full with 7000 lbs of fuel and she will do as already mentioned, and roll to the left. Seems to be a fuel related thing. Maybe in what order the fuel tanks are emptied and how the FLCS compensates for it. Could be correct or a bug though. I dont know. I am just playing the detective here. Whatever it is, I am sure @BIGNEWYcan explain or will move it in the right section hopefully. Here are both track files for 700 lbs and 7000 lbs take off: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7ay6a63u30botab/700_lbs_fuel.trk?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/m1i4n6z3p3k6rhy/7000_lbs_fuel.trk?dl=0
  19. Did the same thing again. Just a keyboard take off. Which again, should eliminate any possible roll input. No ammo for additional left side weight. No flares no chaff. As clean as an F16 can be, same result. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lgbuyol5npqp923/left_wing_heavy_no_ammo.trk?dl=0
  20. Beating any AI aircraft, no matter what AI level, does not mean anything in my opinion. AI cheats, does not obey the laws of physics, will fly infinite loops around you, defends missiles with only 6 flares while flying straight, does not know how to jink. And it has no soul I usually fly on a dogfight server which has only one AI aircraft that appears from time to time. And I know 10 seconds in the fight if that it is the AI Mig again or not. The only thing that counts for a fair comparison: Fly against a friend or someone whom you use to know on a server. Fight against him, see how the score is after that. Then change your aircraft. See how it develops now. If you start losing now, either you cant handle the new aircraft (yet) or the aircraft is inferior or a combination. It took me literally half a year to grasp the concept of energy fighting in combination with the F16s current flight model and G modelling (please no discussion here). Also getting rid of the radius fighter mindset the F18 (I started in DCS with) gave me, was also a huge factor why it took me so long. As stupid as it sounds, or as clever: How to maintain airspeed is by maintaining airspeed. You need to learn when to spend it. The better you get in judging when you get a shot opportunity the less will you find yourself in a situation spending airspeed.
  21. Weird. I noticed that too, but thought my stick could be not perfectly centered any more because I use it for quite a long time now and might be worn out. But I unplugged everthing and did a take off with keyboard only. So no roll is involved. The F16 seems to be left wing heavy. It gets less the faster you get. I did a non AB takeoff and when you pitch the F16 up and down after that in slow speeds the left roll adds more and more. Who knows something about it? Gun weight? Turbine rotation, although its not a propeller engine, is it something the FLCS considers? Track file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ew5zux27m1ylibk/left_wing_heavy.trk?dl=0
  22. That series is pure gold. Watch and learn what he is illustrating. Especially how lag pursuit looks from the cockpit perspective. I had it wrong for such a long time. Unfortunately the video series seems not to be continued by the creator.
  23. In SP and MP you need a game master or tactical commander slot created / enabled. You'd pick it then you can command all controlable vehicles via the F10 map.
  24. Yeah you are right. On that server it happens that I end up having them assigned to 3 targets. But not able to remove the targets. Maybe its bugged. CA does not get too much love from ED recently.
  25. So this was the direction I was thinking. If the Mig 21 pilot had the chance to take notice of over-excessive IFF interrogations he probably would have been aware. As long as he knew about the existance of that system.
