I don't have a G940 but I have an msFFB2, there are no forces when you fire (any weapon) or when you crash. What the FFB does in DCS:BS only has to do with trim.

Congo did you get it sorted? Thought your rig was very impressive! It has inspired me to use an 46" LCD-TV and a 19" touch monitor I have at work. I was wondering if it's possible to have the main view on the 46" extend to the 19" below so I can use it to touch switches etc.

Looks very nice!! I like the wheels, I also have wheels but on an aluminum frame..
-
Are you trying to shoot them from very long range? Maybe there is some object (some building) in front of them that has'nt faded in? This happens to me sometimes..
-
Sweet! Very interesting stuff there..
-
When you made that video, did you have curves on the X and Y Axis? That sort of thing happens for me too (and others) when having curves on a force feedback axis, works fine without a curve though.
-
Great! Thx alot!! Also found ALOT of other interesting info about the F-16 cockpit on that site..
-
Hehe yes I know.. But I don't know the dimensions of the real ones either :P Thanks anyway!!

Very cool!! This one has the benefit that you can sit inside it since it does'nt have the reflector that the TOOB dome has.. However as the image transforms onto the dome, it will be distorted towards the edge of the dome I thinks. I suspect thats not the case with the TOOB dome (judging from pictures).. Will have to try one or two out sometime.. Anyone know anywhere I can do that in sweden?

What do you think about getting this... http://thinkoutofbox.com/ ...along with an HD projector.. Is it possible to run DCS in 170 degree FOV? In that case, this dome would be very cool, one would place the reflector right in front of the front cockpit panel and use trackIR only to view the rear hemisphere. I have yet to find out how the 1080i image transforms to the edges of the dome, but I think this might just be my cup of coffee :D Thoughts? Suggestions? btw, another question: I heard LUA export is disabled by most mp-servers.. What about lua import, is it also disabled by mp-servers? (One needs to feed switch positions to the sim to sync at the start of each mission) edit: I have been hooked on domes ever since I had the fortune to try a Gripen simulator with a 180degree dome around it, thats why I'm really considering this :P

Does anyone know the dimensions of these? "Screen" area as well as outer dimensions? Should be the same as the F-16 MFD's I suppose (?) but I can't find dimensions for those either... After some contemplation I'm considering getting these and putting them side by side on a 19" touch widescreen I have. Then I'll try to get the screen to display the MFD image in the TM MFD bezels and perhaps a touchbuddy layout or instruments (gauge composer maybe?) on the rest of the screen area..

microsoft sidewinder force feedback 2 joystick

... or just set force feedback strength to 0 in options/controls in the games GUI. The patch is worth it because it fixes a bunch of bugs and you'll need it if you want to play newer missions or online.. ps. to above, there's no need to trim without forces on the stick. :smartass: -
Logitech G940 - My Impressions

I think the biggest problem with the slack is in BS, when you trim and let go of the stick/ or engage AP, the slack changes the stick position to give involuntary control input.. When you let go of the stick, the deadman switch could deactivate control input as well I thinks (presuming the deadman switch does'nt recenter the stick as is the case with the G940 (and not with the msFFB2)).. -
Having an FFB stick does mean you don't have to recenter the stick within half a second, trimming behaves more or less like IRL with an FFB stick. I've also had some funny effect when heavily damaged, when part of the rotor(s) are shot off the stick goes shaking like crazy I thinks.. I think, even if you don't feel much in the stick IRL it would be nice with some subtle effects when firing, touching down, getting hit etc..
-
Maybe you could send both commands from SVmapper? So that when you flip the switch it sends: Lctrl-G then Lalt-G
-
One can change this by setting the axis as a slider and setting saturation..

I think it would be pretty cool to have an alternative version of the KA-50 with FLIR or LLTV, RWR and chaff, just as a "what-if" version.. If they release this 3rd party aircraft creation thingy-ma-bob it might be possible..?

I would'nt mind pots in the throttle, as long as they are of high quality they can last many many years. I hope the rudders have no pots though.. The only thing keeping me from buying this right away now is a statement regarding the "grinding feel" of the FFB motors (forgot who wrote it); that if the msFFB2 (which I use) feels like sand, the G940 feels like pebbles.. hm.. Also it has to have as little FFB centerplay (not axis centerplay) around the trimmed position as the msFFB2 I thinks, regarding this Logitech_Mark has said that it's a software thing.. @ ronht: Thank you very much for the review!! You've brought me one step closer to buying it ;) -

The stick uses a Hall sensor for x and y. Since they've not mentioned (that I know of) what sensors the throttle and pedals use, I assume they are not Hall sensors. -
Offcourse, I never used a Cougar so I would'nt know about it's calibration. What I meant to quote was: "Curves are not the total answer as they can make the trim function harder to learn with the harsher output near the ends of controller travel. Easier near the center means harder near the ends." If curves in BS are relative to the ingame cyclic position (and not to your joysticks position) it will matter whether the curve is set in the Cougars software or in the game. Thats what I thought you meant.. :P I use an FFB stick though so I would'nt know..:joystick:

REVIEW: Logitech G940 by EcoDragon
-Bazong- replied to theGozr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
*In lockon and DCS; when you trim with FFB the stick moves (like IRL), you feel your trim input by the pressure on the stick. *In IL-2 (for example); when you trim with FFB the stick does'nt move (unlike IRL), we all know how this works I thinks.. I think in the former example it's nicer without detents, and in the latter it's nicer with detents.. Anyway, are there any news regarding if the FFB's centerplay (NOT axis centerplay) can be minimized? -
If one sets the curves in the cougars software that should not be the case though I thinks.

Indeed, it's important that all measures be taken to avoid killing civilians (and I have all confidence that this is usually the case). The publics opinion or over dramatization about the event goes to show that people care about innocents are not killed/injured, which is a good thing I thinks, that people care that is.. It's imperative to keep a very high standard in terms of respecting human rights and to take responsibilty for any mistakes made, so as to make it clear to everyone what the difference is between the Taliban and the occupants (or whatever they should be called)...
-
Oh that would be another matter then :P . It's said that US public opinion for WW2 never dropped below 70%, but for Vietnam it dropped to and stayed at 30%.. Don't know about the more recent wars...
-
But that'd be bad business, and for the US war is business, yes? Oh but seriously, can such measures be taken in the US you thinks if it's not WW3 or the US is under direct attack?? Edit: Don't want to get political here, sorry if I am touching politics. I love all people in the world!! :)
