  1. ROFL  no comment.. edit: sorry edit2: btw, very interesting discussion, fascinating how much insight some of you guys seam to have!!
  2. You're married and can fly up to 8 hrs!!? That really is amazing!!
  3. I also thinks this is would be a great feature!! :)
  4. I believe the pedals in the Ka-50 respond to the force-trim button the same way the stick does, that is it recenters to the position they're at when you release the trim button..
  5. Looks interesting, the thought "It's just not enough" has occurred to me once or twice, especially when playing IL-2 and contemplating making my ms FFB longer... I would'nt know how to make it work though, sorry, but I'd be very interested in the results if someone else (like you) got it to work.. ;) Good luck!!
  6. Sweet!! Looking forward to pics and/or video :)
  7. I wish, but no sorry :P
  8. Good finds there!! (In your last link, one of the buttons there (the black round one with metal nuts) I have about 200 of (bought from a sell-out at Elfa).. :D )
  9. "Anything is worth what it's purchaser will pay for it" (quote from civ4 :P said with the voice of Spock (I believe)).. I agree, I don't like that kind of "anti-competetive" behaviour either.. Did you ever buy anything from Microsoft btw? :D Each to his own..
  10. Sweetness!!! Now my Tir5 + Trackclip thingy is also on the way :D Thx for all the input guys!!
  11. Beautiful!!! Looks amazing!! I have a question; Where can one find those nice switch-caps? Are they like in the real thing where you can have the switch in both positions with the cap closed? I've only been able to find ones that allow for only position of the switch when the cap is closed.. (does that make sense :P ) Keep up the good work!!
  12. Just thought I'd jump in and say I admire your craftmanship Oakes!! Mycket inspirerande!!
  13. Conrad (http://www.conrad.de/com) in germany has a large selection of buttons and switches at reasonable prices (they also have the nice Alps microsticks, which are very nice (currently have one duct-taped to my ms FFB2 :P ). I tryed one similar to the one Stelios linked to, but I did'nt really like it.. Then I bought another from Elfa, but that one is ridiculously small (the type that are in some cell phones).. I ended up slaughtering an old CH stick, their hats are indeed nice. Unlike the other ones which look like a tactile switch, the CH ones are made up of four individual buttons in a plastic casing... Next time I need one I'll try to fabricate something similar to the CH ones, but perhaps using two momentary flip switches instead for longer through and better feel... Those are my experiences FWIW... Hope you find something to suite your needs!!
  14. I believe the strength of the Gripen is in the ability to be stored in a shack then be armed and ready by a few people and a few minutes, then takeoff on 500 meters of road to fly it's mission. It's made for a defence in depth of northern Sweden I thinks..
  15. For what its worth: I just built an X58/core i7 920 system, keeping my old graphics card (nvidia 8600), upgrading from an AMD X2 4400. I went from medium settings at 1280x960 to almost full settings at 1680x1050.. :D
  16. Sweet!!!! Have been waiting for something like this!! :D My trusty old ms FFB2 is getting realy old after 6 or so yrs of service... :) Will definetly check this out!! Thx for the heads up!
  17. Hello!! Wondering if anyone has gotten the TrackIR 5 yet and what they think of it..? Contemplating an upgrade from my current TrackIR 3 (without 6dof expansion), is it worth it? Or should I get the now cheaper Track IR 4??
  18. Sweet!! Perhaps it's time to scrap the old Tir3 and get this.. :) Or perhaps prices drop for the Tir4... Thx for the heads up!!
  19. I just generally think it's incredibly hard to see the other chopper in time.. But when I do see them in time, I find the HMS (I use TrackIR) very handy to get the Shkval pointed quickly. I agree a smaller shkval gate size seams to be a safer lock most times (for ground targets too..).
  20. I get the same glitches alot of times, sounds like a phase problem, or some filter/EQ cutting in and out.. Anyway I agree it's extremely annoying, but I sorta got used to it since I had the same issue in Lock-on.. (Realtek "something soundcard" on an Asus mobo, winXP)
  21. It works fine for me except some small problems: *It does'nt work right when I take control in training missions. *I can't set a curve because the trim does'nt position according to the curve. In the force feedback settings under controls axis mapping in the game you should set "swap axis" also, otherwise the trim is crazy.. (Why not?) edit: I should add, that I use it with XP and without the drivers that comes with the joystick.. Hoppas det fixar sig!!
  22. Perhaps it's something to do with Vista not letting you see the files? Seams strange..
  23. I looked up the coordinates in the mission editor where I knew an NDB was, then looked those coordinates up in the "beacon.lua" file and copy-pasted the piece of cyrillic text into the ARK.lua.. Would indeed be nice with a list though :)
  24. Awesome!! Thank you!! :)
