  1. One thing I would recommend considering is the width, as already pointed out the Saitek's are further apart. For me, with my HOTAS set up so that the stick is in the middle (between the legs) having narrower CH would be impossible. Saitek's are great, and if used and maintained properly will last a long time.
  2. Jeez... what a can of worms. Proper deployment of active missiles on OPFOR birds is borked in FC2 no matter what missile they are firing. No TTI no TTA... and once again a thread about OPFOR weapons/aircraft turns into AIM-9X, MICAs and other James Bond gadgetry. :music_whistling:
  3. I can share mine once I get home, even though it is rather basic as I like to keep my profiles simple without extreme modifiers/secondary assignments etc.
  4. 27EA never made it past mock up stages. The 77 was tested on both airframes, the 29 and 27... Granted they were modified for it.
  5. Vek, you are a little off with that statement. The launch part. Unless you mean jettison :) While anything can be strapped to an aircraft, the Flanker can even carry the uber amraams if there is a need (not talking about the game). Carrying it is one thing, launching is another. The weapon system will simply fail to properly test, initialize and prepare the weapon for deployment without proper interface and knowledge of the missile, which the 27S doesn't have. While it is transparent to the pilot/virtual pilot... the on-board systems go through a lot of routines to prepare the missile and display that it is indeed ready for launch. Even the "old fart" 27R has a rather complex algorithm of preparation/readiness/launch/impact.
  6. В эту субботу намечается трен?
  7. Certified for use. I believe even based on documentation it "entered service", at least the document for it was signed. But, never went into production, by mid-nineties things were looking very grim, this is when the various bureaus tried to penetrate the weapons market by presenting RVV-AE to interested parties. We shall see, 2013 is the target year. Research K-77M, KС-172 as possible candidates.
  8. Might be a little bit of confusion here Flankerator. I do not like quoting Wiki... but in this case the info is on point:
  9. Rage, Due to the fact that Tacview operates on modification of the export.lua script, in it's current rendition of the integrity check system it is impossible to allow some changes but disallow the others. As such, the integrity check is enforced on the standard export.lua file to ensure equality of all clients.
  10. It went through ГСИ (government trials) but never entered service, due to the lovely nineties we had in USSR. @Pilotasso: I am talking about slightly different series of AA missiles that are undergoing tests now (through unconfirmed sources). Quoted as "new caliber of missiles".
  11. :) not quite what I am talking about... can't google it (at least for now) ;)

Happy Geburtstag! *hybrid is in style these days*
  13. Flyable Kuznetsov pwns all. Don't you tell me Flying Vinson is better or else! :joystick: Fair enough :)
  14. And I always know that the thread will turn into an F-15 discussion. ;) Depends which Eagle, which Flanker. Remember in the game we have F-15C, which isn't exactly vanilla, like the SU-27S is. With the individuals that I chat on regular basis, the youngest aircraft that flies was manufactured in 1994. There are no R-77s anywhere, even in Lipetsk (the Nellis of Russian Air Force). If the war was to start... well that statement completely depends on the type of the war, as history has shown local conflicts require very little air superiority as the opposing side has few A2A capable aircraft if any. If the war is on a larger scale... Russian air strategy will be defensive, pull enemy forces into a disadvantageous territory covered by SAMs. What Russia is doing is not investing $$$, that is scarce, into outdated weaponry, R-77/RVV-AE being one. That is correct, the emphasis has been made on ground pounding rather than anything else due to the nature of local conflicts. Anything larger, usually Russia doesn't want to be involved in it. *like "peacekeeping" in Libya* A manual that is rather dated (late 80s-early 90s), thought this might be a relevant bit of information. With other various pieces of documentation floating around from early 90s. I highly doubt you or ED has documentation with the right amount of detail for it to not be a fantasy implementation. AIM-9X probably being the only reasonable possibility, even still if we use the "show proof of it being used in armed conflict" approach - it might get interesting. SU-27S = Serial production model, normally the S is dropped from the name. You are absolutely correct on the P version. It says: "Самолет СУ-27СК Руководство по Летной Эксплуатации"
  15. Was mostly directed at the F-15 pwns with actives comments.
  16. Now what comes after RVV-AE? We will see soon find out... :hehe:
  17. We are doing just fine in our flankers vs anyone. Thank you. Patiently waiting for our DCS: SU-27 even if it is assembled out of circa 1922 equipment. join 51st and learn how to fly it proper
  18. + a couple of СУ-25УТГ for the navy boys
  19. Or the aircraft simply couldn't do anything that would threaten either the aircraft or the pilot due to input by the pilot. P.S.: Unfortunately a lot of individuals are misinformed on this subject and feel that FBW is present only in the western airframes.
  20. No problems either with SSD. Indexing disabled? Any anti-virus software? Your signature shows two cards, have you tried disabling SLi?
  21. I believe with that time frame in mind... and F-16 being closer to your heart, there is a good chance you will not be disappointed by going the F-16 route. Who knows, maybe the next DCS series is the F-16 after all. Gotta remember, F-18C is pure speculation based on some educated guesses people are taking. Best of luck with your build! Sounds like it is going to be quite extensive.
