A very unusual statement by GG standards. PrintScreened

HOTAS Warthog updated drivers 2011-02-22
Sov13t replied to ACUTech's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Today, I have rolled back to Firmware Ver. 18 on the Throttle, just to establish that this wasn't a hardware fault. Upon rolling back, Slider0 performed exactly as you describe it Teej, at most it would adjust once within 1 second of you letting go of the slider and the adjustment would be a value of +/- 64. I then proceeded to upgrade to Firmware Ver. 20 again, and the issue resurfaced. Not really sure what else can be done. -Sov -
Perhaps because they never had ERs to begin with? :megalol:

HOTAS Warthog updated drivers 2011-02-22
Sov13t replied to ACUTech's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ah, so I wasn't the only one... I tried using curves and other means to fight it... but nothing helped... so I stopped using it all together. Using a HAT switch to zoom in/out. -
And blindness by the end of the flight...

Buttkicker Gamer 2 thoughts?
Sov13t replied to razorseal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Voice communication becomes a big problem, whenever someone has a deep voice your "buttkicker" will go off... and thus ruin the experience. Flying... or gaming in general for that matter without Voice Comms (TS3/Vent) is something I do not do at all... no matter if it is FC2 or MineSweeper/Solitaire Tournament :megalol:.... I found using two sound cards the easiest as it pretty much splits game sounds and voice comms. Of course I then mix it into my headphones... while buttkicker is fed by a pure line out. I defined the on-board soundcard as my output source for TS3 and Vent, while my X-Fi is defined as default device by Windows and as such gets used everywhere else. -
Buttkicker Gamer 2 thoughts?
Sov13t replied to razorseal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I run it, and have grown accustomed to it so much that I can not fly without it. Two sound cards are a must for a proper Buttkicker set up. A lot of tweaking is also required to get it just right. Experience wise... I have feedback from my aircraft when I am on high AOA, Air Brake out, Afterburn, Taxiing etc... Guns, Missiles... Other aircraft in close proximity... all of that adds to the immersion. Nowadays, I feel weird if I do not have it turned on. Like that "something is wrong" feeling. I do not use it for anything else though, as it requires a lot of tweaking and I am just too lazy to do it for other games. -
Please, elaborate...

Orthogonal Roll? -
A rather bold statement :music_whistling: How are they "still" crashing? With sources, dates and reasons. Oh, and they aren't going into production, they are in government trials. FYI 37 was a testbed for TVC along with a few cockpit "experiments" (side stick and center stick at the same time). Technology from this testbed is integrated in the 35BM program, so serial production 35s will have TVC stock.

The TWS implementation of the SU-27 is far from the real deal, as are the sensors in general. FC2 representation should not be compared to realistic radar/eos functions that exist on the 27 and 29. And just as an example there is a separate toggle switch on the radar control panel that disables automatic target acquisition in TWS mode.

Only one thing is certain... F-22 = tea party!!!

An X-52 is a very loosy stick, using it in on this stand was very easy and the stand did not sway. Using a center mounted stick on a short joystick (like the X-52) introduces a lot of inaccuracy into your flying, while being primarily a combat oriented simmer, I still make it a priority to master all aspects of flight, and not just after-burning into the stratosphere and spamming some missiles. As such, after flying with center mounted short stick and receiving a few tips from the great Berkuts (Frazer and Timoha), I noticed that my hand will fatigue quicker due to constant small adjustments that are required when in formation or a set maneuver, as well as your elbow is suspended in the air making it harder to execute precise movements. Thus, the switch over to the tenso-stick set up as found in modern jets, where your elbow is supported by the chair's arm rest, works wonders. When I got the Warthog HOTAS, the structural deficiencies of the stand became apparent. Due to the weight and force required to operate, I started noticing sway of up to half an inch on my joystick side of the stand, which doesn't help flying at all! That is why I am currently rebuilding it :) I will be using 4 posts per side. Since warthog allows to be easily extended, I will be toying with the idea to going back to center mount... but I am still awaiting for the extension to arrive, so can't say much on it. For what it's worth, I have no regrets of supporting RogerDodger for his work and investment into our little community of flight freaks.
