itl only activate while gear is down for me, and if you go full mil at all it deactivates it too thats exactly what its for, im guessing its pilot preference because iv seen videos with it being used and not being used, i love it lol
-
iv heard BOTH sides swaer the other is like cheating lol, personally i struggle to spot thing in vr and i dont use 2d
-
a build guide would be great, also which feathersense board? theres a bunch
-
any joy with this? iv just started flying f16 and cant see the lights at all lol
-
correct, but we dont use labels at all on our server, only for training, just had a play with pd and ssaa with promising results, spotted dot at 20nm but they were highlighted against clouds so thats perfect case

Cursor confined to game window doesnt work

you mean for the mirror? no i havnt tried that, and yeh i use muscle memory too but its still annoying as hell -
yes unit spotting, no labels on our servers. i had no idea this was an old thread lol
-
anybody know how to get better spotting in vr? im hopeless! i do tun high pd (1.7-1.8) with ssaa/msaa off and i use fsr 0.5. should i drop pd turn ssaa up and reduce the fsr??
-
iv got that and its very nice, however we often dont have dots on our server so i need to physically spot them, im even struggling with contrails too
-
i use an index with pd 1.7 (fsr setting at 0.5) no msaa etc, it looks great but i cant spot aircraft to save my life (litterally!!) what do i need ot do to improve this situation because its a really big problem for me!! lower the pd and put up with the jaggies? heres my settings

yeh its a rocketship in that midrange speed bracket! the tomcat isnt exactly sluggish but damn the viper is great there, that aoa limiter makes low speed a bit of a dead end though, apparantly that was a noted thing in bfm for real, clever/good pilots would try to force the viper slow and then drive the nose of their jets around knowing the viper simply cant -

iv just started flyign the f16 and while the simshaker does work it seems like theres no feedback for buffet, its there for gs and afterburner but not for buffet or airbrakes, is this a dcs thing or is support limited? -

yeh its a fun learning curve, similer performance in alot of ways but they work very differently -

thats what ive been practising, thats a very different method to what im used to, i barely look at the speed gauge at all in the cat and theres no speed in the hud -

very much so, a big difference is the lack of buffet feel through simshaker, i can really FEEL what the tomcat is telling me but there seems to be only a faint audio cue when you pull too much aoa in the viper, thats just gonna take practise to feel when im bleeding too much speed i guess well i said i felt like theres curves on the stick, i checked in the controls and there is lol 20, iv zeroed it and tried my 1st aar, much better! fell off twice but did go to transfer complete. just gotta work out my references now and i should be good to go -

i think the real 1 is pressure sensitve, does this translate in dcs to rate of change in stick position? -

oh im deffinately not used to it, the control response feels almost like theres a curve on the roll and pitch, ie 50% stick travel doesnt do much and then it ramps up, obviously this is all compared to the cat which isnt fbw and is 100% direct, you tell it to do something and it does it, it doesnt care what youre telling it to do lol. my 1st attempt at formation flying in the f16 resulted in alot of pio lol small inputs didnt give me the desired response and big inputs were huge -
did my 1st landing in it yesterday, came in way too fast and didnt get the nose wheel working till way too late, i ran off the side of the runway and it fell over!!! i cant remember the last time i crashed anything in dcs!!!!
-
i can believe its realistic and it may well be perfectly readable for you, i struggle with some of them and i think it just comes down to settings and the physical limitations of vr compared to real life, its more awkward to move freely in my seat with vr and the mouse is a pita to use while turning more than 90 deg off straight

How accurate is it? iv just started flying and and my god it feels strange compared to a tomcat lol does it rate like it should? is the prodigious speed bleeding accurate? -
well i never knew that, great photo there!! oh that wouldve been a BRILLIANT picture haha
