A fortiori pour des cartes graphiques, y a rien de plus fragile dans une config... Il date de quand ton Cougar? plus de 10 ans??

For the FPS, it is all about the graphic card as long as you have a decent enough cpu that will not bottleneck your system. SSD helps a lot to make it a smooth experience (no stutters) and to load everything much faster like textures. RAM at 16gb+ ( ideally 32) is necessary online on servers hosting heavy missions with lots of people, but 16gb is enough on most servers. A better motherboard doesnt change much, it helps to get better performances from your memory but in dcs the impact is limited on your framerates. The main benefit is stability of your system ,lifespan of your setup and helps a lot if you want to overclock your components, which is rarely a good idea if you use your computer 24/7 or do not have very effective cooling solutions on top.

Interesting, so it must have been a placebo effect then. The mavericks would not uncage for me, then i noticed it is because they were on "standby" mode. Then when i turned the ir cooling switch after a few minutes they were marked as "ready" and would finally uncage and work properly, so i concluded that the switch was working. But now that you say that, i understand what happened, thanks for the info.

Yes, it cools down the IR mavericks othwerwise you can't use them. But for sidearms it is not needed in dcs afaik.

Maybe it could be Lybia since it is mostly desertic which means high performances, had WWII ops fought there ( and recent ones) and has the mediterranean sea for carrier ops. Just a guess though.

Le probleme de ce joystick, c'est que les boutons A1/A2/A3 derriere le manche sont tres fragiles, ils s'enfoncent rapidement suite a une utilisation intensive. J'en ai fait les frais recemment sur une copie de celui ci (ravcore javelin) qui a des boutons identiques. Mais a part cela c'est effectivement un tres bon joystick, il est tres precis et l'un des plus ergonomiques dans cet ordre de prix meme si j'ai du demonter le "hat switch" pour plus de confort. Tu trouveras facilement un acquereur si tu postes ton message sur un forum francophone car presque personne visite celui ci. Peut-etre que si tu baisses ton prix un tout petit peu plus aussi ca pourra t'aider car ca reste de l'occasion meme apres une heure. Perso je te crois mais ce ne sera pas le cas de tout le monde car ca prends 5 minutes de faire un photoshop d'une facture electronique. Y a aussi le fait que les sites comme amazon font souvent les frais de port gratuits maintenant donc la plupart des gens preferent payer 10-15 euros en plus et acheter reellement neuf sans prendre de risque. Interesting, we have the same amount of RAM, you have a better cpu than mine (i5 7600k vs Ryzen5 2400g) but i have a better graphics card (gtx970 vs gtx1060 6gb), yet i am no way near minimum 50-60fps online, more like 25-50max. To jest dziwne, prawda? :) Yesterday i felt slightly better performances on some servers and worse on others like GAW for some reasons. Not sure if it is related to the update but it is good to know that this update may have improved things online.

In multiplayer, depending the amount of players and ground objects, it can be very RAM intensive. I only have 16GB and on some servers, sometimes I get very low fps on the ground. What I did is set a pagefile manually on one of my unused hardrives. It helped me but I still have the occasional stutters and low framerates on servers hosting very heavy missions. Hopefully one day they will improve their engine and make it use all the cores of our cpu because right now, my cpu usage is like around 20-25% usage whereas my RAM is 80% of more. But yeah if you want a smooth experience in MP, you probably need 32GB of RAM, though this is just what i have read, i have never tried it personally to assess the difference.

Perhaps you should add "for me" ;) Because for me the most desirable would be the Super Etendard from our Navy :)

Thank you very much guys, very helpful advices here. The trick of not wasting time to slew and instead pointing the aircraft at the target and flying into it then locking it has helped me a lot. I had this crash using the training mission again (the rocket one). I uploaded the log file. I think that the common point with last time is that i kept playing these missions again and again (like 15 times in a row or more) so i kept reloading them repeatedly. I hope that helps to understand the issue though i must say that i played a lot this weekend and did not have single issue, online and offline. EDIT: Ah no damn, it says 2019/06/03, that was yesterday, so that is not the correct log file. Strange, i just crashed now and came to post it but the latest log file i have in the folder is from yesterday. Jeez... sorry, how can i find the correct one, i dont see anything for June 4th at 00:30ish dcs.log-20190603-222848.zip

I have been watching just now a youtube video from a guy called CreativeFun, and apparently he baits the missiles at first in order to determine visually exactly where the SAM is located for making it easier to aim, lock and shoot the RB75 later on. However, i can rarely see the missile launch.. i tried earlier today against SA10 and got shot down when trying to do so, i could never spot the missile launch. Maybe there are some people who are successful engaging SAMs with the Viggen on open terrain? The issue for me is that sometimes there is more than just one SAM battery and that is when i die systematically.. :/ Maybe i should experiment with the Bk90. If i have the right QFE, maybe i can just approach the SAM at tree top level then shoot that BK90 at the lowest possible altitude? hmmm, I would be really curious to hear about tactics with the Viggen against SAMs.

Hello, I have an important question please. I am new to DCS and the Viggen. I have spent the whole Sunday on the GAW server trying to take out SAM like S-300, SA-11 etc.. but I almost always get killed before I even know exactly where they are and get a clean shot with the mavericks... Can someone help me with tactics please? I have been reviewing every single death with Tacview but unfortunately it does not help me much apart from concluding that i perhaps should never get inside that 15 km range ( i always get killed when i do pop up above 300 meters for a RB75 shot or if I get too close.. and if not then some AI fighter shoots me down when i am focused on the SAM :) ) I have been trying to learn the sound alerts from the RWR but i can never know when i am locked or if a missile has just been shot at me. I have real problems to figure out what is their approximate distance to me as well so I am super stressed when i hear the sound of their radar now.. I also set the brightness/contrast for the Rb75 to see better and max zoom on the EP13 with trackIR but somehow i rarely spot them before they shoot at me... My loadout is 2 x RB75, ECM and Jammer pods, and the usual sidewinders for self defence. Is that a wrong load out? Should i use the Bk90 instead ? Is this plane actually supposed to be able to take down advanced SAMs like S-300 reliably? What tactics do you use against SAMs with the Viggen? I have watched the video of Badjoe on youtube (he makes really great videos for the Viggen) but what can you do when you don't have a mountain to cover you? Thanks for your advices, at this point I completely lost confidence in myself for doing SEAD so i figured out I should ask people with more experience. Thank you.

Yes, it might push the release further :/ Unless they first release a F1C complete, and then later on alongside updates/bug fixes, include their other versions. But if they want to release everything at the same time, the wait might be clearly longer cause just for the two seaters, it is a full additional cockpit to model with all its functions and different flight model.

Yes I tried again repeatedly just now and could not reproduce the crash i had last night. I am guessing it was/is issue on my end. I dont know, i did not have crashes previously, just a massive fps drop with the Mirage under certain conditions. My apologies, if it happens again I will post the log with my message.

I also get a crash during a training mission (rocket firing mission) with the Viggen, just happened to me right now three times in a row. The crash occurs as soon as my rockets hit the targets at the red smoke point.

Yes, any complex/ambitious project would do. HeatBlur is one of the very few teams capable of getting a modern aircraft with all its systems right.. their work on the F14 is really amazing, I hope they put their unique talent and expertise to good use. In my opinion Panavia Tornado would be a great choice or the Saab 35 Draken. This one could be fantastic as well and consistent with their previous work on the Viggen. Since we may get a Mirage F1 from other devs and a F15E at some point, maybe a MiG 31 could be great too if they can get the data/authorization but perhaps it is unlikely like for the Apache helicopter.
