  1. Hi all, I am running 2x MFDs using the default profile for the F/A-18. All was working great until I had an issue with my TM rudder pedals recently. While troubleshooting, I accidentally cleared out one of the MFD's entire button programming in the DCS controls GUI. How can I get that one MFD to get all the button commands back without having to change the entire controls profile, as I have some custom mapping and axis commands I don't want to have to redo manually. Thanks in advance.
  2. Nope. If you get the ones that are meant for sport like in the above pics, they typically have ways to secure them in your ear while moving a lot. My wireless iphone airpods wouldn't work well as they likely wouldn't stay in during a BFM fight. But the little soft rubber extensions on the bose pic above fit inside the ear lobe and you don't even notice them once they are in. Sound is SOO good now. And it definitely blocks out external noise. My wife has to come whack me on the shoulder when it's dinner time as I don't even hear her talking right next to me. :smilewink:
  3. Yep, I do the same with these Bose earbuds with my Reverb. They fit in the ear great and are very comfy. WAAY better than the built-in headset earphones.
  4. Since always.
  5. Cool thanks!
  6. A modern radar in A/A radar mode will not display weather on a B-scope. However, in A/G mode in a real beam map setting, it most definitely can see and display weather.
  7. According to Wiki (I know, not always the most reliable source) it says the super hornet E/F carries 4xJSOW. So I can't imagine the smaller C model could carry more. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_F/A-18E/F_Super_Hornet#Specifications_(F/A-18E/F)
  8. Agree. It's a good community here. Thanks for all the help.
  9. Thanks, I've been wondering how to do that as well. I'll try this technique later today. I need to get some more practice on the JDAM/JSOW mission flow. So if I understand you correctly - you can use the TGP to put in different coords for each weapons station by using the STEP function and TDC designate and then stepping to the next station and designating a new TGT and so on? And then once that is done, you undesignate with the pod before stepping back to any previous station? Is that correct? And finally after doing the steps above - once you undesignate, is there anyway to get the TGP back on the target area so you can see the hits without screwing up the previous stored TOO coordinates?
  10. Ah, that would explain it. I never used active pause either time, so no sure how I got there. But cool.
  11. Where did you ask for guidance? I didn't see it.
  12. Yep, I do the later (MB USB socket) and have no issues at all.
  13. Ok, played around with VA and the SP quite a bit last night trying to run several different permutations and found some interesting results. I finally got SP transcribe to work, but the only way to do it was to manually place the mouse cursor in the open SP window in game and click it so the little flashing cursor was there as if I was going to manually type from the keyboard. At that point, I could transcribe and it would properly dump the dictation into the SP window. If I tried the command "Focus scratchpad", the white dot (VR mouse cursor in DCS) would jump to the middle of the screen outside of SP and transcribe would no longer work. If I again manually clicked inside the SP window, transcribe worked fine. I have no issues with this, but the "focus scratchpad" doesn't seem to do what your README text says it does, unless I'm misunderstanding something. No big deal though. The other thing I found was that in game while flying, the dictation worked much better. It would for instance transcribe a full set of Lat/Long coordinates. However, it I was in the F10 map window and trying to put several different sets of tgt coordinates into a SP window for later use while flying, the dictation and transcribe worked as above. However, the first half of the Northing would be totally cut off. For instance if I said: "North 36 27 45.69, West 115 22 11.33", it would transcribe something like 45.69 West 115.....". I'm not sure why its cutting off the first portion in F10 but not in regular flight. Finally, and while not a big deal it's just annoying - when I dictate coordinates like the above, when I transcribe into the SP window, it displays it like this: North 36 27 45 .69 West 115 22 11 .33 I'm trying to speak slowly and clearly (but not too slow), so maybe it's taking my natural pauses as a new line. Anyone else see this? Overall, I love it. Both the SP (thanks n26) as well as your profile Chic!! Once I get good with it in conjunction with VA - this is the best tool I've found for VR.

  15. Agree. I did that and it was easier than trying to find the button on the keyboard in VR. I've gone one step further and assigned it in Voice Attack. I say "recenter" and poof, it works perfect. And that opened up a button on my HOTAS for something else.
  16. No, no Point control. And I'll have to dig through the VA profile. I essentially am using 100% Bailey's v2.0 for the Hornet plus your add-on for SP. Nothing else. I'll have to go scroll through it to see. Good idea, thanks.
  17. Cool, I'll try that soon when I am back on the computer.
  18. [see attached track] I had a weird thing happen to me yesterday and it repeated. So i saved the tack on the 2nd try. Setup conditions: - 2.5.6 - Single player - Mission editor - NTTR - single ship - aircraft running / starting on rwy - T/O from rwy @ Nellis - Config: 8x JSOW, 2x AIM-9x, 1 CL fuel I wanted to do a quick ME mission to practice some PP and TOO JSOW attacks. Loaded up the Hornet with 8xJSOW (4xJSA and 4xJSC). Mission started aircraft running takeoff from runway. I sat on the ground on the runway for about 10 min or so each time typing the PP coords into the first couple of sets of JSOW - 1xPP TGT for the JSA and 1 for the JSC. As soon as I was done, I pushed the throttles up to takeoff from Nellis. Everything is working fine, motors go to FULL AB but no movement. A/C wouldn't budge at all. Rudder works fine, brakes are not on (I can see the toe pedals moving and are released), Emer brake is not on, I call the crew chief to remove chocks in case that's it even though it shouldn't on the runway. Nothing. Aircraft will not move. I stopped the mission and then hit refly and started right back as before - except this time I nudged the throttles up before I did anything else. Aircraft moved forward fine as expected. So I stopped and went and programmed the JSOWs as before. When done, I pushed the throttles up to max to takeoff and aircraft is completely immobile again. Not even a slight movement in full AB. JSOW BUG.trk
  19. No, the SP window stays visible when I say "TRANSCRIBE" but nothing happens except the hook goes down or up each time I say it. Do I need to do an additional step to get the SP window to be in focus first?
  20. I find that if I let the computer sleep and then come back to it the next day, I have far more success if I shut WMR down completely and restart it each time I want to do a DCS session. Same for Steam VR. So my routine is to shut everything down and close the apps completely and then start WMR first outside of Steam, do the head tracking exercise each time at the beginning of the session, then go into Steam and start Steam VR and then run DCS. Even though I have WMR for steam loaded, if I open WMR straight from windows first, it seems to run well. I do this sequence of steps each time and it seems to work consistently. YMMV.
  21. I’m sure that’s it. But the key bind for the Hook is H. What is the key bins for Transcribe? I could find the actual key press for that in Chic’s VA profile.
  22. There are numerous ways to get the TGP into an area. Currently the 3 methods working in DCS are: 1. Waypoint designate (WPDSG) if you have a pre-planned target AS A STEERPOINT. 2. Velocity vector mode. As described, just point your nose and put the flight path marker/velocity vector on the target and depress the TDC button. The pod will then latch there onto the ground. From there manually slew it to refine the designation to the specific target point. You don’t have to be perfect with the VV. Just get the TGT in the FOV and designate and then refine it as you recover from your shallow dive. I don’t recommend doing a loop. 3. Manual slew. This is the hardest of all to find something on the fly. But it’s a valid method If you are unable to dive down for some reason. The key is understanding the dot that floats around the pod screen. If for instance you see AAA fire coming from 2 o’clock (~ 40 deg right and about 45 deg down), just slew the pod there using the dot and the L/R and up/down angle numbers. I would do this in WFOV and IR as a technique only. But it is hard and it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack while looking through a soda straw. Future methods should be with the JHMCS and the A/G radar if we ever get it. And I’m. It sure about this Lot Hornet, but most other jets of that era could also cue the TGP off of a Link-16 injected track as well. To answer your AAA @ 2 o’clock scenario, the quickest and most efficient way to get the pod on is with VV mode.

  24. There's no system I'm aware of that gives "relative" bearing. So it's likely just bearing. About the only thing I can think of that gives RB would be the degrees of the nose pointer to your designated TGT. Sorry, I should not have used the word relative. I meant bearing....
