  1. You’re missing the point. Put your lawyer hat down and look at like a human being. Sigh……
  2. Here's a crazy idea - tell Nick to pay RB while this whole thing is being worked out like adults. I'm betting RB getting paid and going back to work would go a LONG way to allowing all parties to reach a mutually beneficial solution. IMHO, ED is acting like a Bully and using their relative weight to bully a "partner" into acquiescence. IF this alleged IP breach actually happened - I'm betting it was a misunderstanding of the intent and effects on both sides. And butthurt on both sides is likely preventing any real movement.
  3. Not hypothetical at all. This was just this week:
  4. You're honestly NOT helping ED's cause. Just saying....
  5. And people would complain if the asteroid impact was late too......
  6. Nupe. I have ZERO stake in RB financially. If they fold up tomorrow, it would be no skin off my nose. I do have an admittedly emotional stake because I feel like I wasted 4+ years of my life and countless countless hours on this passion project (F-15E) to see it all potentially go down the toilet.
  7. Personally, I think an asteroid hitting the earth about right now would be the best thing for us.
  8. No, I'm not asking YOU to speculate. I'm asking if you know how the money is being handled right now. Is it being held in escrow or is it going into the General Operating funds?
  9. I don't see why not. He's passed on numerous other matters that he and nick gray have discussed regarding the situation. I think its a legit question of what happens to the money they've accumulated since they stopped paying RB. My assumptions are all positive - that they will either pay RB the back-money owed once things get back to normal after the dispute is resolved. I also expect ED will pay RB the money accumulated since the beginning of the dispute if negotiations fail, because I would think that would be ill-gotten money that ED profited on while a dispute is in progress. Again, my presumption is ED will do the right thing in the end, I just was asking for 9L's perspective on it rather than speculate.
  10. So given this "alleged" breach of contract and ED withholding payment to RB until this gets resolved - presumably ED is holding ALL revenue due to RB for the sales of all their modules since the alleged breach began, right? And presumably, if the dispute is resolved to both parties satisfaction - then ED will give RB ALL the revenue (minus ED's cut) from the continued sale of those modules sold since the dispute/non-payment began, right? I would hope so anyway, as that legally should be RB's money. The question is: what happens to all that revenue from the continued sales of the Harrier, Mirage 2000, Mig-19, and F-15E Strike Eagle that ED has been accumulating up to now if the dispute is NOT resolved and ED walks away? Does ED just get to keep it? @NineLine - you've asked me not to speculate on stuff here. So here's a direct question that maybe you can prevent speculation: What happens to the money in the two scenarios above? Because I think that is at the core of what people are asking here re: "why are you guys still selling the module during the dispute". I'm curious myself because I honestly don't know how this works. Thanks!
  11. To be clear - I never said that the F-15E module wouldn't benefit from some sort of "virtual WSO" to help you out. I was just saying that the current iterations of "jester" and whoever would bring very little benefit atm. Even Jester 2.0 in the F-4, while great and he works pretty darn well, would be of little benefit to the Strike Eagle module, imo. Which is why I said it was deemed to be a super low priority in the F-15E module's dev process. But yes, eventually a more advanced chatbot sort of thing where you could say stuff like "hey Notso, target the North and North middle groups in the leading edge" or "get me a designation on that Vehicle on the west side of the road" sort of thing would be amazing. Maybe that's what "TALON" was envisioned to be. But I think we're years away from the tech to be able to do that.
  12. Yeah, LOL that's not going to happen. I wasn't completely joking when I was talking about "hours" of video to properly describe and attempt to teach how to use the weapon - assuming its modeled correctly and behaves correctly. Its probably one of the more complex and difficult weapons the SE has ever carried - past or present. I don't doubt though that there are youtubers out there that will try to Mansplain it in 5 min or less and get it all wrong.
  13. In the SE, once all the switches are set and ON - there is literally nothing the pilot can't do in the front by himself. There are a few minor things that he can't HOTAS, but the function is there on the MPD with a button push. But you can still do the action, task, event, whatever. Conversely, there are a few things the WSO cannot do in the back that is a pilot only feature. ACM/Auto acq radar modes, Shoot the gun and shoot A/A missiles being the big ones. I have nothing whatsoever against the jester type GUI (they are NOT AI btw). For the modules like the Tomcat, F-4, etc where the duties front to back have a hard dividing wall and tasks cannot be done in the other cockpit - Jester type interfaces are essential. But in the SE, it would literally take MORE effort, more button presses, and more brain cells to get Jester or whatever to do something for you than if you just did it yourself. That's why a WSO GUI was never a priority for the SE - because it simply is not needed. IMHO, for something to be useful in the SE to role play the WSO job in the back - it would need a level of sophistication and automation about 5x or more than that of the most current jester type GUI. Having said all that - having a human WSO in the SE that knows the jet and the crew works well together is peak DCS meta. Nothing comes close to that for the WOW and giggle factor.
  14. All good. Hopefully I can get back to making some more videos on a regular basis with lots of new features that will be added. The one I was most looking forward to making was the AGM-130. Hopefully, everyone has a good 6-9 hours to spend learning it.
  15. I'm not sure what you mean by "bragging". I've only discussed information that has already been publicly shared here and on other sites. And like you, I have a lot of confidence in the information that's been shared with me, and it fits neatly in with the rest of the puzzle pieces that are out there. But I DO know a lot more than has been discussed in public that I have pretty high confidence in, so please don't insult me by saying otherwise. Tbh, though - I really don't care who is right or wrong in the end. Whatever the dispute is and whoever is at fault really is irrelevant to the bigger picture - which is to get back to work and keep the modules healthy and strong on both sides. Unfortunately, I feel like both parties are entrenched in "I'm 100% in the right and I'm not budging from my position". I'm betting whatever the issue was that caused the dispute likely had very little true monetary impact on the other party and was more the "principle" that it occurred at all. Certainly not to the level of the money that ED has withheld from RB so far (and counting). Furthermore, I'm also betting the reality is that neither side's hands are totally clean in all this and both share some responsibility for getting us here. Which is further ammunition for Nick and Ron to just say to each other - "look, you made your point - let's just move on". Just saying.
  16. Good! As you should.
  17. No worries. I'm just countering obvious misunderstandings or outright false information. I get this is an ED run forum, but I don't think it's right that only one "narrative" is allowed to be pushed here. None of the RB folks, including myself, have ever shutdown people coming on their discord saying everything RB has done is wrong. They get their say and then the other side of the story is also allowed to be discussed. If alternate POVs are not allowed, then maybe its time to lock this thread as nothing new or useful is really being said on either side.
  18. Why in the world do you need a Jester or George to fly the F-15E in SP? Or even MP. Its a perfectly capable jet to fly solo. Is it BETTER with a human WSO - 10,000%, But I honestly think a jester style GUI would make it more cumbersome to fly, not less.
  19. No disrespect intended @NineLine - but how do you know that YOU know the whole story too? You likely only know what your management/Nick tells you as well and that carries no more or less weight than what Ron and other RB members have told me directly. So I think its a bit disingenuous to say that I don't know what's going on. I fully admit that Ron may be lying to everyone at RB, but I don't think so given what he's shared with the team. But you would also have to admit that Nick or whoever in the Sr ED chain may not be telling YOU the full story. I am privy to more than you think. So lets just leave it at that.
  20. I honestly don't know for sure if AJ was paid. Maybe he was a volunteer. Either way, the CM's have little incentive to do much while the whole thing is going down the toilet. I can't say that I blame them.
  21. The other aspect that most people don't know is that the MIG-23 was pretty close to being finished and Galinette from RB - same one who did the F-15E Radar and overhauled most of the M2000C systems - was the main coder for the Flogger. So it was going to be pretty spectacular. If someone else tried to take on building the Mig-23, it would be YEARS and of questionable quality compared to what Galinette had going.
  22. Very possible. But the no pay thing has been going on since the Release last summer. Which would then mean the issue was there BEFORE release. If that was the case, why would ED then go through with the release in the first place as opposed to releasing and then keeping the money??
  23. Then don't go there. Simple as! And FWIW - the RB discords were fairly well moderated before this drama occurred and they typically stomped out any Anti-ED sentiment. However, Given the CM's are no longer being paid and have zero incentive to keep the kids in check, it doesn't surprise me that things have gone "Lord of the Flies" to a small degree. I mostly see just passionate fans of the RB module's upset that this is all happening while they see their airplanes breaking and rightly so are pissed off.
  24. This is what boggles my mind about this whole thing is that a governing jurisdiction is not spelled out in the contract. EVERY international contract I've ever dealt with (and I've written a few) when dealing with international parties ALWAYS specified a mutually agreed upon legal venue where any court filings/proceedings, etc would take place - like New York or London, etc - to avoid exactly the scenario you describe above. Otherwise both parties can just hide behind their respective court systems and go "nah-nah-nah" at each other. Also, every contract like this I've ever dealt with also contains mediation clauses that are used before it goes to court. And no mediation clause I've ever seen says one party can just arbitrarily stop paying the other if they feel aggrieved as long as that party is still delivering their end of the contractual terms. Stop payments are usually done AFTER mediation is unsuccessful.
  25. Yeah, I get that. And as a hypothetical - if its a matter of "RB promised something to someone but never delivered by the time they were caught", then withholding revenue for a year now seems a huge amount of overkill for what could have been a business slap on the wrist and told "Bad Boy, don't do that again!". But neither you or I know the real story, Skate - unless you have inside info to ED's side of the story. Based on what I've been told directly from the RB side, I'm skeptical there was an IP breach at all. Or at worst case there was a mutual IP breach.....
