  1. I use a 4k 3840x2160 monitor. Also set to that in DCS. In general the planes you meet look really weird. B17s and wingmen you meet appear quite stretched out in F1 cockpit view. Also the planes you chase are very very small unless you crawl right up to it's ass ... Any tuning possible? IMO IL2 great battles got that quite better worked out.
  2. I found with WW2 planes you almost always have to set Autorudder to on .... and indeed spend time on tuning the axis curves ..
  3. Trackhat Opentrack system v2; still testing & tuning it, but it seems it will be my fav, no head thing needed. Installation difficulties were due windows, you got to activate latter in privacy settings. Piece of cake to install it. TrackIR5 i used until now, especially with IL2 FC and seems to have more tuning and view options to fiddle with, but the system 2 i have not figured out taht much yet. Before that i had the Trackhat v1, was slightly more difficult to tune right. Might sell both track hat v1 and my thackIR5 LoL. Get rid of all the dead USB drivers uninstalling them with USBdeview ..
  4. Just looked at the general NS 430 Navigation System. Don't really get what it's useful for in gameplay ... is it any use for ww2 planes? This as I am frustrated with the small font used in the Info bar as i want to see airspeed and height more clearly on a 4 k monitor.
  5. Well, i tried, tried and then tried the Dora .. bought it immediately, easy peasy going compared to the a8, and behold, much better view from the cockpit ...
  6. Can you adjust the height of a pilot's head position, say for about 20cm higher? In this K4, and also the FW190a8 (the Dora seems OK) it feels like you are an Irish Leprechaun, and need a thick pillow underneath your ass. F.i. in IL2 Great Battles you can do that by delete a snapview in a luascripts folder, set your position and save with F10, especially useful with ww1 planes.
  7. I am lazy, set autorudder on, and the a8 seems to behave, the problem i have still is how to get it up to speed properly.
  8. So tough sjait but good fun LoL PS which axis plane is 'better' and for what, K4, A8 or Dora?
  9. I got a message from a DCS tech; 500 is a system clock fault; in my case i installed a new MB BIOS, and the clock was 15 minutes off. Set time correcly in the BIOS, fixed.
  10. Thanks, just looked at that nice manual ... for me all warthog settings are totally different than i got used to by now, not only with other DCS planes i fiddled around with. Pfff, must do me some thinking about those mentioned p47 essentials accordingly ...
  11. Well, got a p47 loaded with rockets ... but how do you fire them; i set a button on my warthog stick do dual salvo, nada.
  12. Yep, that i found, but i find it hard to get this monster to acquire warp-speed, thnx
  13. Well, it's complicated, this p47. Don't have the time to figure it out properly. Any tips on how to simplify Engine power for just game sports? For now I tried this p47, but it looks like too much specified button pushing for me. Don't think i will buy it.
  14. I used the default instant action (FW A8 airfield attack) as being quite useful for bomb practicing with the ships along the shore. Now is there a trick for bomb aiming as there seems no bombing assist tool. I keep missing, only once i hit something. Good sport BTW for flying practice. Is that bomb fusing diving selector always needed? OV and or MV? Can you set them to auto somewhere?
  15. As noob (FW190a8 not using pedals) i found it a must to have autorudder on ...
  16. Sorry 'bout that .. quite unintentionally. I am still a DCS noob, and confused about a lot .... f.i. Just made a new touristic mission experiment yesterday, played it, all about sightseeing London in a CE2, but now i can't find where the darn saved miz file went. And 2 years ago i bought some helicopter stuff and oh lucky me i just found the backup of all my saved plane profiles.
  17. That's it ! even the Info Bar is there!
  18. Where exactly do you do that; was just experimenting with cockpit camera view ...
  19. I like the FW190 A8. In Il2 i like it too and especially the A3 variant. For DCS i still have to get used to the general cockpit only view where you can access important things like elevator trim etc. Might be a thing for simmers imitating real world affairs, but for game work and map tourism it puts me off that you are forced to watch an expensive computer screen in game action, half filled with a cockpit only. With IL2 you can adjust your pilot head position even outside on top of the plane anywhere, maintaining a speed bar. With Cliffs of Dover you can turn off the cockpit and have only a few essential meters about speed en height etc.
  20. On my 4k monitor the font size is quite small. Is there a way to enlarge it, or the Info Bar in general? What i would like to see is airspeed and height in general also in Chase View (F4) etc, but i guess that's not possible ... Found the font here: \DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\fonts ADDED, someone tipped me about switching off cockpit with Lalt - F1, and the info bare is there still ... great help.
  21. Must try that, maybe a little curve for the axis controls helps there ... BTW thanks for all your help. Just decided to buy a few WW2 planes now on sale, also because of guys like you etc.
  22. yep, slowly getting used to it ... ADDED: you get rid of that flapping rudder blade turning on Auto rudder for the individual planes affected in options, special
  23. When it's on i don't have that flappering rudder panel at gameview F4. The same with the P47D. So i must leave it on LoL.
  24. I take it that you trimmed in cockpit view; at least as i said it works for elevator with the keyboard L contrl + UP or Down as i set it up. No trim for rudder alas. But i have autorudder on, maybe that's the cause ..
  25. With HOTAS do you mean axis (analog controller like a joystick)? I tried assigning them to my throttle, button function. NoGo ..
