  1. As noob (FW190a8 not using pedals) i found it a must to have autorudder on ...
  2. Sorry 'bout that .. quite unintentionally. I am still a DCS noob, and confused about a lot .... f.i. Just made a new touristic mission experiment yesterday, played it, all about sightseeing London in a CE2, but now i can't find where the darn saved miz file went. And 2 years ago i bought some helicopter stuff and oh lucky me i just found the backup of all my saved plane profiles.
  3. That's it ! even the Info Bar is there!
  4. Where exactly do you do that; was just experimenting with cockpit camera view ...
  5. I like the FW190 A8. In Il2 i like it too and especially the A3 variant. For DCS i still have to get used to the general cockpit only view where you can access important things like elevator trim etc. Might be a thing for simmers imitating real world affairs, but for game work and map tourism it puts me off that you are forced to watch an expensive computer screen in game action, half filled with a cockpit only. With IL2 you can adjust your pilot head position even outside on top of the plane anywhere, maintaining a speed bar. With Cliffs of Dover you can turn off the cockpit and have only a few essential meters about speed en height etc.
  6. On my 4k monitor the font size is quite small. Is there a way to enlarge it, or the Info Bar in general? What i would like to see is airspeed and height in general also in Chase View (F4) etc, but i guess that's not possible ... Found the font here: \DCS World OpenBeta\Bazar\fonts ADDED, someone tipped me about switching off cockpit with Lalt - F1, and the info bare is there still ... great help.
  7. Must try that, maybe a little curve for the axis controls helps there ... BTW thanks for all your help. Just decided to buy a few WW2 planes now on sale, also because of guys like you etc.
  8. yep, slowly getting used to it ... ADDED: you get rid of that flapping rudder blade turning on Auto rudder for the individual planes affected in options, special
  9. When it's on i don't have that flappering rudder panel at gameview F4. The same with the P47D. So i must leave it on LoL.
  10. I take it that you trimmed in cockpit view; at least as i said it works for elevator with the keyboard L contrl + UP or Down as i set it up. No trim for rudder alas. But i have autorudder on, maybe that's the cause ..
  11. With HOTAS do you mean axis (analog controller like a joystick)? I tried assigning them to my throttle, button function. NoGo ..
  12. I think so ...
  13. So i switched off auto rudder. No difference, no rudder trimming neither while chase view shows a desperately fast shaking rudder with or without auto rudder. How can you get rid of that shaking? PS it's the same with a P47D i just tested, and also no elevator nor rudder trimming possible, in chase and in cockpit view
  14. Now is there a quick and dirty work around this list in getting all this done automatically?: ========================================================== P47D .... Couple things impact top speed, Gear up flaps up magnetos both on mixture Auto rich prop max throttle max boost lever as required to obtain max allowable MAP 52' w/o water 64' with water. trim plane for minimum slip as above close cowl flaps above 225mph you should be able to go good above 320mph at SL, 350mph with water rotate the primer to closed position ========================================================== Sorry, call me lazy, just spent 2 days on checking the Spitfire's settings to get it going a bit. ==================== update: ADDED: Testing the JUG again, it looks great, but for me it's impossible to get it tuned right & working with a Warthog set ... The Dora in contrary is quite easy, to get up and to up to speed; just bought it. Definitely gave up on it; rudder trim is also not working, IMO this nicely made plane module is unfinished business, and should not be for sale.
  15. Ah, that might be it ...
  16. LINK SEEMS DEAD!
  17. guess i opened something ..
  18. Guess i'll have to learn handling it then, but right now i am trying to figure out what WW2 planes are worth it ... so far had an itchy start with this spit ...
  19. Nope, just tried free keys B and N, no movement in flight. In F1 cockpit view only the UP/DOWN wheel moves slowly, and seem to work. The dash up down meter also moves. However the rudder trim function does NOT seem to work as the notch settings. Nothing happens, but that's maybe since i saw auto rudder set on somewhere ...
  20. Windows 10 LTSC, US language. GameDias gaming keyboard, no problems with other sims. --------------- Setting up for Spitfire TRIALnow testing ... Rudder, and elevator trimming; i can't get it to work so far; tried the default settings, and some of my own, but it does not see to react as f.i in Cliffs of Dover where it's also needed. ADDED just tried it again, seems the modifier R-cntrl or R-Shift do not work; just tested inputting it again (for elevator and rudder). They react in the control settings sub window when pressed and get registered it seems.. Maybe my PC's Keyboard is not recognized for modifiers while the game is running in F4 Chase , but also not in cockpit F1 view ... PS default setting for notch trimming also does not work. Can it be that it has to do with a windows setting for keyboard layout? thnx for looking.
  21. Rudder, and elevator trimming; i can't get it to work so far; tried the default settings, and some of my own, but it does not see to react as f.i in Cliffs of Dover where it's also needed. Can it be that it has to do with a windows keyboard layout? ADDED .. i posted it in the bugs section, and elevator trim seems to work only in cockpit view. However Rudder trim i did not get to going, nor notch trimming..
  22. Thanks all, OK, i'll give it another shot .... since things like all the goodies of the assets pack and, yea, a B17 albeit only Ai, and Normandy 2 too with Paris and London. I can fully understand why Eagle has to divide their attention between all the stuff, and i got it mainly because of the helicopters .... But i am more a gamer towards flight sims, and not as much a flight simmer for accuracy i think, so i still miss a simple autopilot and or auto level, or even some on/off switch to set the player to Ai for a while. Just to have time lo look around, while sitting out long boring fights and f.i. also follow ground actions.
  23. I had several modules already, so oh lucky me normandy 2.0 came reasonably priced, looks good. Spent two days on testing the trialled the Spitfire ... Q: how old is this, as it seems quite unfinished IMO. Seems almost like a Chinese paper kite at take off, especially from Chase view; flappering rudder and elevators ... wobbly take off on the runway, besides all that button pushing if you don't use automated takeoff procedures. Guess i am spoiled. The IL2 bubble top Spitfire Mk.XIV i got a while ago, and their Normady update as well. IL2's Spit modelling seems so much better done as it feels like driving a sturdy Rolls Royce; compared to the DCS version where a 50ies Citroen 2CV comes to mind. Call me biassed, sorry, ...
  24. Is there any general autopilot or autolevel for the spitfire, or other plane, so i can watch a mission leaning backwards sitting in an easy chair ...
  25. AHA Thanks, that's an eye opener LoL ... Now i try to find a general Autopilot or Autolevel mode for a loaded Spitfire mission, guess it's not there? I keep ditching this spit in to the drink when i switch to map (F10) view.
