  1. Would think Vulkan will also bring much improvement in shaders, so hopefully better looking foliage etc. That might need a large rework of all art assets, mind you.
  2. I would hope this is an essential feature more than a "consideration" - it's enormously important in MP! hoping for more news soon. In the meantime, solid cloud at least has the same upper & lower limits, I think.
  3. Yep, and at that point there's reams of other helos to do instead. Not sure if they can do Sikorsky helis ( someone mentioned licensing issues ) but there's other Bell, at least half a dozen European heli builders with a mountain of product and more Russian ones that all have unique places in the game. Upgrading old modules still makes money - it's not like people aren't buying modules still, just because we have them doesn't mean everyone does. If there's a little polishing work done & it looks modern & shiny, it can pull in more sales. Someone will have done the maths for the Ka-50 & the A-10 & decided it's worth it, I've no doubt it'll be ongoing for other older modules too.
  4. The one that was announced as a Europe map?
  5. Only if it added something significant, and I can't think of anything other than an AH-1G that'd be significant.
  6. Not saying "don't", but there's two WW2 european maps wanting heavies...
  7. Feels like it's in point track & trying to lock all the time ( I'm not saying it is, that's what it feels like ). I have a perfectly smooth experience in the A10 using the joystick, I've not tried the stick for the Hornet TPOD ( I wasn't aware it even had analog bindings, actually ) but using a hat is a smooth experience as far as it goes. I've also tried various curves for the ministick without any progress.
  8. Marianas, apparently.
  9. Does seem to work occasionally in MP ( certainly if I host a server on my own desktop *I* can do everything ) but yes. It'd be better if it worked for everything, so we don't need actual FARP items.
  10. IRST have been around about as long as LGBs, IIRC - would be nice to actually have one on *something*. No interest in a Rhino module - it would it be mostly fiction ( even more than the Hornet/16 ) and there's far more interesting aircraft from previous eras to work on.
  11. Would suspect altitude in feet is a NATO standard, in fact. Sweden has never joined NATO, so the Viggen gets a pass... Angels is in thousands of feet, the last brevity doc I saw made a point of saying NATO doesn't specify if it's above MSL or AGL, so maybe they didn't bother with a standard, there seems to be *some* assumption of common sense going ion :p
  12. Panavia is an actual company, though, not some sort of multi-governmental committee. I suspect & have heared some rumours that they're rather reluctant to sign off for a model while the aircraft are in service :/ one can hope that isn't actually true.
  13. I find the 14 much more satisfying ( well, usually ). The 18 is competent but has no soul, I come away with the satisfaction of completing a task rather than continual gratification while doing it - partly I think it's because the FM is still a bit odd ( or the FBW is a bit odd, maybe ) & the aircraft feels very flat & a little unresponsive. Not so the Tomcat, for sure. Can't help want the 18's HMD in a furball though... Jester is OK, has his bad days but usually does reasonably well ( and he has magic X-ray eyes for missile spotting ), and working with a human RIO is something else. Throw me in the "peak time was the early 90s" bucket as well.
  14. One thing I enjoy doing is taking out SA-10 sites with Mk20s - such a lovely plane to fly on the deck that it's not really all that tricky to drive missiles into the ground on the way in.
  15. While that is a good wish item, this thread is about trying to nail down things which we know *aren't* wishlist items.
  16. The viggen has a TWR, iirc ( even the Vulcan had one of those ) and it's not really a big job to make that out of any radar with a ground mapping mode - proper TFR ala F-111 and Tornado ( and before either, TSR2 ) would fly you low level IFR. ASRAAM & AIM-9X share a seeker head, can't imagine it was a big job to fit ASRAAM. AMRAAM is an entirely different class of missile.
  17. The updated damage model for the WW2 birds is already partially there, it's pretty interesting. Razbam just showed a basic model for a SHAR 1, I am doubtful that'll be out before year end but you never know ( SHAR 1 wasn't really that complicated, although the radar is super quirky ). The F-4 went back on the "well, we'd like to do this one day" list from one of Wags' interviews.
  18. Hmm - a Fairmille dog boat or one of the Vospers for the allied side & we could at least test out coastal forces naval engagements under CA. Would probably perform like a waterborne tank, but it's a start :)
  19. You can't bail out of one anyway, so might as well fly it so low you can just pop it down on the ground instead... Wonder if there'll be enough pilots around to do defensive circles. The Fw190 of any model was always something of a Mossie nemesis.
  20. Weather was mentioned as being this year ( you've got about a day, chaps! ) so presumably that's fairly well along. Carrier also looks well along, as does the Kiowa & the WW2 pair. The poor Hind though... I'm really hoping that'll appear next year but I'm not putting money on it. And, I guess we'll see some maps next year which is IMO better than aircraft as long as they've got some different terrain. Maybe the F-14A? Gazelle overhaul? Everything else seems pretty early in the development cycle, we might get a huge dump of new modules in 2021 with the way it's going.
  21. The VRS is certainly.
  22. Should point out that a lot of aircraft carry hooks, but aren't reinforced for the near-crash that is a carrier landing. Tornados had hooks, you wouldn't want to put one of those on a carrier... many mil bases have runway arrestor wires. A useful service aircraft is not doing M2.5... the F ( which I guess is the one we'd want ) would be more like 1.5. The fleet defence version was dumped for the Tomcat, to much rejoicing. I don't know if you called the TFR unique, but TFR is certainly not unique to the F-111.
  23. Preload radius affects ram usage a lot, I found - first step try reducing that. I've got a SSD from the first run of PC SSDs I've used as a cache drive for a HDD for many years & there's not a single fault on it yet, wouldn't worry too much about SSD life. Actually I've got a few tiny computers around with swap on a SD card & even they haven't worn the cards out after - in the case of one of them - 7 years. Also, try disabling recording of tracks, might stop some stutters as it writes.
  24. Absolutely this - this is *already implemented*, the problem is the lack of keybinds *provided* for most things. Having to edit files in the install as opposed to user profile to fix it does not help matters.
  25. Tranche 1 Typhoon would be the most likely of the modern aircraft given they're hitting retirement, and given we can't even get a Sea Harrier II ( or apparently even a Tornado ) thanks to unavailable data, that seems rather unlikely. The AdA are apparently sponsoring a Mirage 2000-5, let's see how that goes. Gen 3 aircraft or early gen 4 with say, early 90s fit hit something of a sweet spot for our purpose, I feel.
