  1. Hi guys, Just tried a sample mission with CBU under 0 wind conditions and figured out that my problem was with the wind. Under windy conditions, the CBU do not hit the target and there is no accurate way to consider wind in FC3's A-10A. ANyways...I was trying to blow up a T-90 with a GBU 110 lb JDAM...and look at this. Spot on....and the tank stilll lived and just a fizz on the surface. (Notice the small "bullet ricochet" effect...that is where the GBU hit....see the orange yellow dot at the base of the turret?? Anyone ever had this problem? It seems like a one time thing. Wanted to know any other weird happenings like this. V
  2. I can absolutely never ever get old with CBU 97 animation. Totally fantastic. Absolutely fantastic animation and wonderful smoke/special fx.
  3. Its sad to see how much FC3 has just become about the eagle now. Thats it. Those 3d pits make such a world of a difference.
  4. I agree Viper. I don't know why the third parties aren't jumping on this opportunity. Almost every single FC sale will equal to the cockpit package sale. A tremendous opportunity.

  6. Hi Peter, Can you please re-release this with FC3 update and 6dof enabled for all planes? Its awsome and once you get used to this, its hard to go back to default trackir behaviour. thanks, V
  7. Looks very good in comparison to the real pics. Great job! But ugly compared to the default colour. lol! Why do they paint them that colour? Black looks so much nicer in the shark. But on the other hand, I think this blue looks great in the flankers and frogfoot.
  8. Its just the viewpoint positioning. These cockpits, similar to the new models have been reproduced faithfully and to scale. Just the FOV and the angle that we are viewing it from makes it seem bigger.

  10. I think currently there aren't too many great mods because ED has been implementing some of those little hotfixes directly themselves. But with regards to 3d models of planes etc.... since they changed the format of the model, unfortunately, there are some scaling issues which makes the previous models unusable without modification. Also... mods to effect smoke etc were also changed a bit with the new versions that makes them pointless (due to removal of some functionality). Anyways...now that FC3 has made an appearance, I would assume there should be a slow resurgence of modding.

  12. Anyone else find that they can't use the CBU either? or can anyone actually use it properly in 1.2.2?? Is this an actual bug?

  16. Just got shot by a strela in A-10A mission. Lost one engine, both rudders were gone,hydraulic failure. I limped back home..in the air...the A-10 felt like a brick....couldn't even make big AOA changes. Anyways...inspite of engine fail, there was no skewing of the plane while i only used the right engine and at full power even. Plane was flying in perfect straight line. Second...in air...rudder didn't work. As expected. But once i landed...rudder works. I was able to turn etc. Also...I thought I had to do a belly landing.   17. Fantastic post Mitch. COmpletely agree. I love the new effects added in 1.2.2...the dust spray from vehicles and the armor impact effect. Regarding landing.... ED...if you see videos on youtube...when planes touch down, they create a nice spiral smoke. It would be pretty cool to see that. Also the opacity on that smoke is tooo high. perhaps if it was a bit more "particulate" and not like a paper cut out..would look good. In my opinion, the cylindrical fire needs a change... and explosion 2...pop corn effect would be nice if it was merged with other explosions as particles....but not good on its own.
  18. Hi, Here is a track of a try I just did. Bad try though...lol...got shot and limped back to base. ANyways...mission start time around 9:10, and I used the CBU around 9:14. Notice that I target on the road... I fly such that the box is pretty close to the centre line and even then...the cbus fall short. thanks, V Other other note... bugs found...even when I lost both my rudders and hydraulics...once I landed I was still able to control rudder. it turned as if the rudder was present. Secondly, there is no intense yaw or compensation that I needed to do inspite of shutting down one engine. In DCS A-10C, I need to have constant rudder input or something or else..the plane constantly skews to one side. CBu fail.trk
  19. SOrry I couldn't explain it properly. :p but glad to hear that you can try. Atleast if you provide us a placeholder or something..perhaps we can edit it after the model is released and then update it. :p
  20. normal mapping? I guess I am not too well versed in it. But the point being...if u look at current gen games....if there is a brick wall...generally older generation games have a flat texture...but nowadays...after normal mapping/parallax mapping or displacement mapping..lol...u would see in current games...the wall looks like a wall with each brick appearing raised etc. And if you shine a light on it...shadows would form realistically. the same thing in DCS. If you try flying the A-10 A or A-10C or even F15, notice closeup on the lines and rivets while you are turning away from the light or in the light...there is a nice displacement to the panel lines and rivets that shines and looks more metallic and real rather than a flat texture of a panel line in Lock on.
  21. external model.... the cockpit model is useless now to work on anyways..it needs to be made from scratch. I remember combatace told me that getting normal mapping is as easy as taking the rivet layer and panel lines layer of psd template and applying it to the model somehow. I don't know if its that simple. See the DCS A-10 model...notice the panel lines and rivets look great...embedded in the metal and you can see the light interact with it and shine the lines at some angles.

  23. Look at all the hell breaking loose now since we didn't get the "improved landing and take off physics". I personally was excited for FC only for that reason and so many others as well. So if they announce features...they want to be sure they can make it happen. With all the effort that went into FC3 integration into DCS world and everything else...I dont know if they will bother spending the extra time to make those campaigns. Its all about priorities.
