I hope its interally made by ED..but based on Wag's interview, its unlikely. He was ambiguous about who it was being developed by. Did not say third party, so most likely a close partner like Belsimtek. but I still hope its done by ED in house.

Yeah imagine if parallax mapping can be added to EDGE...we can get some nice ground level detail...not to mention additional detail on objects.

I was referring to the details (decals) in this picture. The DCS A-10 has a lot more detail here. I don't know if the F-15 has it though...so it might be a FC vs DCS thingy?

I love the new flanker model, finally...some great looking missile exhaust in the right colour and even the gun smoke. ED has done a great job. :) I can't wait to see the new cockpits though. :p ....and hoping that ED will find some time to perhaps bestow the Mig29, Su25T and Su33 with the same gracious 6dof cockpits as well. ;) Bugs wise...found the TWS2 bug...both missiles go to same target, only one landing light in the Su27 nose gear, for some random reason, during the quick start A-10C mission, I was unable to use ZOOM for the TGP or even switch it to white hot or black hot modes. The overlay of the cross would change colour, but that was it. But a restart of the mission and then it worked again...so it wasn't reproducible.

I hope ED releases the new template for the Su-27. Also, is it just me or the Su-27 skin isn't as detailed as the F-15 or A-10? It seems lower in res. Still WIP or is this the best for the FC line of aircraft?

Thanks for the explanation. I think you are right regd the pattern of the lights. But I guess we really don't have much control over it in the current version. But I guess its too small of an issue to worry about for now. Other things will def. take priority. ;)

yup! I have tried all the ALT+L states and cannot turn on the other lights at all. Kuky mentioned it is fixed in a later build.

crap! Just downloaded 1.2.3 full install and reinstalling. DOH! :( lol :p

I updated my post above with full size image. Below, This was posted by Blaze in the screenshot thread. It looks different 3 lights + a yellowish light. I tried also turning cockpit lights on...no difference in either short beam or long beam.

Blaze...how are you getting such amazing shadows? Also...I seem to be only getting one light out of those 3 on the nose gear + mine looks more white unlike yours which looks more like an incandescent source. mine looks like this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Hi guys, Initially I thought nothing of it, but after seeing a screenshot in the screenshots section, looks like something might be wrong. the gear lighting in my game looks like htis..although u can see the light beam falling on the nose of the aircraft from 3 sources, there is only one actual illumination at the gear. Thanks for posting the interview. I am a little bit worried that ED won't be making the Su27SM in house. I hope ED changes their mind and does it themselves. :D

why isnt there a glass in the HUD assembly for the a-10. I always wondered if this was a mistake by ED.

I agree...amazon has the best service. I personally found a cheap price and price matched it to best buy as the warthog was expensive enough to not risk ordering from a cheap retailer online. Just old fashioned in that way I guess. :p

It might be that the wires are getting pinched. I had a similar issue with the boat switch on my throttle and the slew control. If u bought it in store, I would exchange it for a new unit, but if u bought it online, email thrustmaster and they will respond. They may suggest that you should open the stick and check for yourselves before considering shipping it back to them.

Hey guys, Was cleaning up some old stuff and found three videos from the russian version of flaming cliffs Su25T campaign that were not included in the english version. They were actually well done for the time and you notice two things: 1) How far DCS world has come (and one may also say how little it has progressed :P ) 2) How amazing the Su25T AFM model is. I hope one day ED can replace the SFM models of all aircraft especially the Flaming cliffs flyables with a new AFM similar to the upgrade that all the AI helicopters obtained when ED released DCS World. Anyways...check em out. I also have a few DVDs with old community created videos from BCRLocsta etc etc....which u can't find on youtube anywhere. I'll try to see if they work and upload them too. :) PS: I am not taking any credit for these as I haven't created anything (yet). Also ED did a good job making these vids. Kinda nice touch to add some immersion. But I think the trigger system can probably replace the vids in DCS world. Enjoy, V

Fantastic work guys. I hope the ED devs are watching this topic and take this into consideration. I think its about time and this is incentive enough to get rid of some of the old flanker 2 era / lockon 1.0 era models/objects.

F/A 18C, F-15C, Su 27SM. That is all I care about from the announcement. lol! can't wait for a AFM crane. :D But probably will be at-least half a decade for that. :p

But why would he bother hiding that one aircraft when he gave away that so many other aircraft in the pipeline. IMO... F-16 is probably not in the pipeline. I would think F-18 is the next in line (Based on Wags background in the Janes series) or F-15C (based on the cockpit model n FC3). I would think Su27SM is further distant as ED already announced way back that the next aircraft is a US fixed wing. But hey...it would be awesome if ED came out with a DCS: Fighter operations with the crane and eagle at the same time. :p But logically it makes sense for someone to make F-16. The falcon 4 crowd is a nice market to entice (I wouldn't imagine its big, but it will definitely grab attention of all the diehard ones). ED can do themselves a favor by bringing in those enthusiasts as well.
