  1. Here's the old report marked as "correct as is". There are some examples, both from real manuals and museum planes, of intercooler and oil cooler shutter indicators being placed near their corresponding switches (unlike they are in game right now). The thing is, if they are just swapped around, the modelling will still be somewhat incorrect since those indicators are supposed to be mechanically linked to the shutter doors/mechanism, and currently, judging by the position of connecting rods (or, more likely, wires, since in-game those are thin and bent), the bottom indicator is linked to the intercooler and the top one - to oil cooler shutters.
  2. Just did a "test flight" during which I tried different engine operating conditions as described in manuals (2550 RPM-42'' MP, 2700 RPM-52'' MP, 2300-35'', 2070-31'', including war emergency with water injection, 2700-64''). All within time limits and even within oil temperature and CHT limits for the entire duration of flight (95° oil for some time, but it is still within limit). After trying different engine settings I did a dive from 16000 to about 3000, during which I kept RPM below 2700, but for a short time I probably got some windmilling going on (MP was about 25'' with RPM close to 2700). And the engine died soon after this dive (within minute(s), with all parameters in safe margins, only oil temp started rising above 100° as the engine lost all power). Damage report said "engine degraded". Were crankshaft bearings really this fragile? P-47 Engine degraded.trk
  3. P-47 is my favorite among WW2-era planes in DCS and I want to believe that one day, preferably while I'm still alive, ED will continue fixing and improving it, that's why I keep submitting this stuff. So, here's some more issues: 1) Throttle cables are clipping through opened CRF switch cover: Here's the photo from N-model manual showing cables position with throttle full forward And this photo shows CRF switch positioned closer to the wall, slightly behind prop governor mode selector box ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) Oil dilution switch OFF position is too high (looks closer to "center" position, which this switch lacks): ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) Gear lever safety latch lacks it's spring and possibly positioned incorrectly above neutral lever position (and lacks a small detent for movement restricting screw): Also, note K-14 gunsight control panel aft of the flaps lever and CRF flaps switch size and position. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) Controls locking mechanism is missing entirely
  4. P-47 Radio controller master switch and canopy handle.trk 1) Manually closing/opening the canopy via right canopy lock lever actuates VHF master mode switch to REM position temporarily, then it jumps to R position and stays there until canopy lock handle is clicked again (then it momentarily jumps to REM and returns to R again) or until it is placed manually to T position with left click (right clicking the switch after it was actuated by canopy lock handle doesn't set it to REM). I tested it in P-47D-40, not sure this is present in earlier models. P-47 Radio controller T lock lever issue.trk 2) The small lever that, when placed in aft position, should prevent master switch from staying in Transmit position unless it is actively held there by the pilot, in addition to it's normal function, prevents selection of REMote mode completely and can't be moved aft if the mode switch is set to REM mode. 3) Controller unit in P-47 has no button/switch labels (channel letters, mode switch position names etc.).
  5. Looks like this has been marked as reported on may 24th: One month away from report turning five years old.
  6. Still isn't modeled, same with gear lever safety catch operation (the catch itself is there at least).
  7. I personally would prefer if these simplification options (automatic trigger safety, automatic gear lever guard, disabling influence of plane's fuselage on missile's ability to lock etc.) were removed completely.
  8. OK, no transparency for customers, again, got it.
  9. Would be nice to get an explanation on this. The deed is done, yet nothing to share. I hope this won't be treated like ongoing ED-Razbam conflict - a year with no news (which can be interpreted as no progress).
  10. I'd buy it in an instant even if it is a separate full price module.
  11. Pitot heating is INOP currently (in my experience at least), I always turn heating on before takeoff, and still getting freezing, with indicated speed increasing with altitude increase and decreasing when descending (as if Pitot tube flash froze while pressurized at some speed, and now if plane climbs and static port pressure drops relative to whatever was in Pitot at the moment of freezing, indicated speed goes up and vice versa). It was reported years ago, track was submitted 3,5+ years ago, and I linked another one (it was too big for this forum) in last november.
  12. DCS WW2 side is interesting to me because of high fidelity of the aircraft. If ED starts making FC-level planes, the fidelity advantage of DCS in WW2 air sim games sphere is gone, at least for me. And there is a third-party developer focused on WW2 - OctopusG, who made I-16 and in the process (I hope) of making La-7, and maybe ground assets for Eastern front (I doubt that T-34-85 that we saw in 2025 video is made by ED since they shifted to PTO). As for F-35's impact for WW2 side of DCS - best case scenario is no impact. Let's hope that the last member of WW2 development team wasn't assigned to F-35 systems and flight characteristics divining team or something.
  13. Another one to the pile: visible moving part of the artificial horizon (I don't know it's proper name) is offset to the left noticeably farther than it is on the photos: Speaking of artificial horizon, is something being done about it's lack of self-correction and excessive drift at normal suction levels?
  14. Just got this exact behavior during mission test (Channel map, winter, -1° C, 29.72 in Hg). I have a track, but it is 25+ Mb, so here's Google drive link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SmYbLR42unsW82KysSVcQ-L7MC3K3hP9/view?usp=sharing Track file was already submitted 3,5 years ago. So, will we live long enough to see P-47 fixed?
  15. Has manual emitter selection been fixed yet?
  16. Expanding eastwards and northwards to Germany seems to be the way to keep the map relevant (aside from singleplayer campaigns for it). But, ED got Pacific theater now, and ocean with small islands is easier for map making than Europe.
  17. In my experience current performance is close to real perf. charts (for atmospheric pressures close to 29.92), and ship landings are easily performed in wet schedule without flow starting with appropriate weights (as indicated in VREST VL page). It was wildly overpowered some years ago, then engine got tuned to almost-real life baseline performance and no further adjustments were made AFAIK. There was a problem with underperformance at low atmo pressures, maybe this is what you are getting at high altitude fields.
  18. For me it is not present currently, nor was it ever present in the past. Maybe I missed the short period when it was there.
  19. Once, a few months ago, I got this "Engine overheat" engine death on the ground, during runup after cold start, with indicated temperatures close to the bottom of normal ranges.
  20. Got it, thank you for the explanation (and overall great communication with community). Would have been nice to have an option to, say, request Jester to momentarily "Check lock altitude" or "Check lock aspect", but if with piloting experience I will be able to easily derive those values from just DSCG picture and Vc, it's not needed.
  21. Currently Jester seems to refuse to actuate aspect knob on pilot command if boresight mode wasn't commanded. I would be nice to be able to make him obey command required aspect knob position regardless of current radar mode, since this knob also selects information displayed for locked contact.
  22. Is the first stage for gun camera only, or is it used in other ways too? Manual (page 802) states that first trigger stage should be held until release to lock Walleye on target, while in game this is currently done by holding second stage (new bind, I'm pretty sure I didn't mix up the keys).
  23. If additional in-game UI (manual and it's context search) affects performance, an option to disable it would be great, not to mention if some potential security risk exists. I used it maybe twice, found out that it can interfere with clickable cockpit (and it takes screen space), and just opened the manual on handheld device. And now, since I mostly learned what buttons do, I don't need in-game context search at all, and if I need to look up some procedure in the manual - I get my handheld or just Alt+Tab and open PDF, where I can do quick text search, make bookmarks, open multiple copies on different pages etc.
