Does anyone know the full story on this? I am an ex 17 Crew Chief and it tickles me to see stuff like this. I know when I was Turkey we had a jet land on the taxiway instead of the runway on accident(think the aircrew was on NVGs or some bs reason) and I think the gear up landing in Afghanistan was pilot error. Having worked/flown(as Flying Crew Chief) with 17 pilots, I can say you meet some of the brightest people, and some of the scariest. I am assuming she had little or no cargo, but **** that's a tight landing... I wonder what length the computers thought they were landing on. The breaks were probably lobster red also.

"Neither is the problem the engine's famous inability to handle interiors, making exploring a house a bit like steering a forklift through a hedge maze. At night. While drunk." Best way to explain exploring the interiors of a house in Arma. So, I have died many times now. I am starting to realize as I play more, I am losing more and more patience and running a lot more. I have to constantly remind myself patience is the best weapon in this game. My roommate and I were exploring the NW airfield late at night and we got ambushed by two bandits. My roommate saw a cow off to the side of the taxiway infront of the hangers and wanted to go get it. I urged him not to and just stick to the hangers but he went for it anyways. As soon as he got to it, he got lit up, while I was still checking out the hangers I recieved fire at the same time. It was pitch black so I was worried these guys had NVGs. My friend bled out real quick and I was cornnered in a hanger. I got a couple of AK rounds off at their muzzle flashes and threw a flare in their direction in hopes to **** their NVGs over. I made it out of the hanger taking no fire and circled around to find them in the building across from the tower after 20mins of being still. I went ape shit full auto with my AK. One of them died on the the ground floor, the other died on the second floor up stairs. I ran all the way to the top and spent 30mins listening to zombies devour their bodies while I thought about my dead friend. All he wanted was some meat...

I was murdered on Green Mountain. Murdered...

Okay, so I am at Day 3 with my first life! I don't even know what happens when you die! I have to say this is probably one of the best multiplayer experiences I have ever had! I feel like I could write a short story about my life in the game so far. I have helped a guy and his girlfriend get loot, I have been shot by bandits and narrowly escaped, I have bled out to the absolute limit by zombie attacks, and I have killed one survivor in a castle after he scared the shit out of me (he had uncooked meat and blood packs... just what I needed). I don't even really get into Zombie kind of games and I am just loving all of this. Plus my two years of Russian are coming in use navigating the land without a map or when I am on a Russian server I can keep an eye on what they are saying. If you haven't played this yet... you are missing out on the best gaming experience of 2012. If you come accoross Stickers on a server... let me know you play ED games and I'll consider not accidentally shooting you. :)

Okay I think I figured it out. My Arma II version was 1.0.

Hey shadowze I dug into the registry fix and I think I pointed ARMA 2 to the right direction... but I have to admit my hax skills have dulled over the years. Could you show me exactly how the registry should look? I keep getting insane x.pbo errors when I try and join a game. Also when I am at the main menu I can't get it to say ARMA 2 with @DayZ under it. Just @DayZ.

Thanks for the tip. I spent 6 hours yesterday not writing papers just trying to get it to work. I haven't heard that solution, so I will give it a try as soon as I can! Cheers!

I want to play this so bad! I just can't get it to work. I have a physical copy of ARMA 2 and I bought OA and BAF on steam. So essentially I have combined operations but I can't get them to recognize I own ARMA 2 which is a requirement for Dayz. Maybe it will work in a later release.

Hey guys, I just found out I got a scholarship through the State Department to study in Russia this summer. I am extremely excited! I am not sure what city yet, either Kazan, Ufa, or Vladimir(I feel like I am waiting to get my AFSC/Station assigned). Whatever the case, I was wondering if any of you guys have tips/suggestions on what I should do with the little free time I'll have? I will be staying with a family while I am there so custom and curtsey suggestions are welcomed. Also, anywhere I can rent a KA-50 and fly around? ;)

27 and I am highly interested in this bleach you speak of. ;) I did the Crew Chief thing for 6 years after high school, now I'm in college acting like I'm 22. I am the only hippie I know that loves flight sims. Anytime I have all my shit out(trackir/joystick) and my friends come into my room, first they laugh, and then get jealous I have the patience for a video game they want to play but know they'll never understand.

Hey guys, I am writing a small research paper(for school) and I am basing it off of the aircraft museum in Monino Russia. Basically I am writing about the evolution of Russian aviation and what the production for these aircraft meant to Russians from the early 1900s to post 1991. Nationalism blah blah. I was wondering if any of you knew exactly how many aircraft are on display at the museum and from what eras? I am only in second year Russian so since the official website doesn't talk about Cats or Sandwiches I pretty much can't yield any information from it. I read they have the flight suit of Gary Powers which I thought was pretty interesting! I also bought a book by Scott Palmer called Dictatorship of the Air which seems to be exactly the kind of info I need(just not on the museum). I did do a ED Forum search but it seems most of the posts are just awesome pictures from the museum. Any help is greatly appreciated!

My bad, Team Fortress Classic.

Public humiliation? I think this dude just guaranteed his daughter will barely include them in her life for the rest of the future. I am really glad I didn't have parents that wielded money and bullshit over my head. They looked at me as a great investment even when I was involved with things they didn't understand and when I went down avenues that they felt weren't healthy for my development but I still gained xp from. BUT I can understand your kids pissing you off so much you think about putting JHP through things. How bout just go to the shooting range instead?

Man I must of missed HL Episode Tow. Do you just run around towing shit with the gravity gun?

This really shows the power of kick-starter and I hope whatever they create is awesome because of this. I think Sim development could HIGHLY benefit from this type of funding since all the major publishers and developers are interested in PS3/Xbox 15 year old's who sit online and tell each other how many dicks their moms suck. I specifically want to see an epic Space shooter like Tie Fighter/X-Wing/Freespace/Starlancer that captures the magic I felt playing those games when I was the 15 typing racist things to people in TFC.

I love TED talks! Maybe the General of the Netherlands one would be appropriate on the forums?

This is great news! I hope MIT doesn't suffer too much politically for this. I am sure the wealthy will spin this somehow and reduce the legitimacy of MIT. But this is ****in great for everyone in the world that is lucky enough to have Internet access and the will to learn what MIT provides.

I watched the IMAX vid. Not my taste("grandpappy flew airplanes so I do" *barf*). Made me really miss the Wings series on the discovery channel. What's up with that gnarly AWACS? I never knew the controllers had a full 3D view of the airspace/battlefield. And if so, what's up with them telling me HAWG 1-1 Merged. Liars! :D

Pretty tight man! Did you play Human Revolution? I jam the sound track while I do homework or when I walk around my city. It makes everything seem epic/mysterious!

I am pretty stoked on this. I recently started playing X3TC for the 3rd time last week! If anyone is interested, these tutorial videos did wonders for me! http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=297924

Pretty neat. I really hope dubstep isn't the next go to music for flight sim videos like in this video. Music selection for gaming videos is the worst and I find myself muting them constantly.
