  3. Slacker! ;) Get well soon.
  4. Yeah, IIRC, the UAE has nothing but helicopters in ME.
  5. And we're down to betting on the minute of the hour...
  6. Yes, and it shines even on rudder pedals. Drives me crazy: I no longer turn on anti-collision. But probably has nothing to do with IFLOLS.
  7. Fixed by updating nVidia drivers? ASUS ROG GeForce GTX 1070 STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING 8GB Updating to 397.93-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe seems to have fixed the problem. There was no reboot required, so I didn't reboot to minimize changes and isolate the cause. For reference, original drivers installed 2018-04-25: 397.31-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe
  8. That's quite the assumption! :music_whistling:
  9. I highly suspect Microsoft Edge to be the culprit. I usually use Chrome but when I double-click a PDF (for DCS docs) it opens Microsoft Edge, so I leave it open there. I started DCS World 2.5, latest OpenBeta patch, and it crashed before getting to the opening screen/menu. I restarted DCS, same crash. I remembered this ongoing suspicion I had about Edge and noticed it was open to a few insignificant Google Docs. I closed Edge. I started DCS and it worked. I closed DCS and reopened Edge. Guess what happened in my next two attempts to run DCS... You win! It crashed. Closed Edge again and of course I could again start DCS. Nothing else changed, no reboot, nothing. Just Edge. Edge also seems to screw up Oculus which stays black and never reaches Oculus Home. Shortcut target: "C:\Apps\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" --force_disable_VR Log attached. :book: dcs.log-20180524-231623.zip
  10. Timotsuky has a type of humor that doesn't translate well (in language and culture). He sounds like a totally different (nice) guy in French, on Youtube.
  11. The post above guesses 18:00 UTC+2. Try it in 18 hours. ;)
  12. That's the default updater behavior, right?
  13. A bit off topic, but still still about dual throttles... IRL, in twin engine fighters, is there a mechanism to lock both throttle controls together as is the case for the Warthog controller?
  14. Well, sure... You can quote the facts, if any. :) Thanks for asking.
  15. Indeed. To elaborate, the right rectangular portion of the flag is missing. We're missing the Atlantic Ocean! "A mari usque ad <missing>"
  16. I'm lucky: I was laid off from work along with 20 other people. Sad for them, they don't live and fly in DCS World! I need to find work before the carriers and Tomcat come out! I think I'll try to slip that one in during a job interview... :joystick:
  17. Trade sleep for flight. Things could be worse. :joystick:
  18. Stay in school, young man! You'll need a good-paying job for the upcoming Tomcat! :smartass:
  19. Close! AFP: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0314972/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl Low ratings! :helpsmilie:
  20. If you guys are wondering, the guys speak Quebec French, with a Saguenay accent. ;) Back in the day, I wished so hard that I'd get this opportunity but it didn't happen. One day a friend told me that even minor hockey teams were sometimes invited there: my head exploded at such unfairness! :) In a few days, it's VR payback time! :pilotfly: The pilot appears to be a civilian pilot unfamiliar with BFM, obviously. I believe this is in Bagotville, home of the 425 Alouettes and 433 Porc-épics. http://www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/en/3-wing/425-squadron.page (also available in French) http://www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/en/3-wing/433-squadron.page (also available in French)
  21. Brilliant video! @rweaves6, 410th Cougars, hey? Right across the tarmac from the 409th!
  22. Hippo <initiator of a deleted thread>, you know you've been a d*ck when your post is deleted by Mr Wags Himself... I found out when I clicked Save as I was replying "This thread will be deleted soon.". :megalol: --- Back to speculating, I'm glad to see that my prediction for June 15th was all wrong. I really like the idea of F/A-18 on the 18th, 2018: it just tickles my numbers-oriented brain. :music_whistling:
  23. I really enjoyed Jetstream. The only thing that it had in common with Reality TV, is reality and the fact that it was on TV. More of a documentary, dealing with both the technical and human aspects of fighter pilot training. How ' bout that handle: "Blow" Jobin?! LMAO! I'm sure Shamus remembers why having the popcorn ready is so important. There was similar US-made series about the F-15 but they only aired 3 shows and pulled the plug, at least here in Canada.
