Ah, yes - with the new DCS engine - I think I noticed that problem, but totally forgot about it. It's a servman issue for sure, because DCS now changes your player status when you land or something. I have to go through that one more time to fix it. I need to do a roundup of a few issues for the new DCS; - Player status change when you land / takeoff causes server to pause and resume. - Playerlist curruption may cause players to get booted for TK.

Want to get back into MP flying and I'm a little rusty.

So true. But for the heck of it, grab a beer and add 10309 TCP+UDP to the forwarding list to. I've had that issue once, never know why 10309 was used back with BS 1.02 or something - but it was (used wireshark). If all attempts fails - get wireshark, run a trace and I'll analyze it for you. -

This is such a comprehensive report that I have no idea where to start. I'll check if we have someone specializing on the ships, and hear if they have time to have a look at all the data. PS, normally we split up all these tasks in a google spreadsheet - so we can tag it green / yellow / red - and move on with the testing after we've reported it. If I sober up a bit over the weekend, I might do just that unless I can find someone who can dive into this monumental task. Thanks - a big ++ for you.
-
Thanks, the issue has been re-reported with your track as evidence.
-
I guess thats why most are quiet regarding the topic - we're holding our breath.

BS2 uses a new graphic engine, as well as higher details by default. Btw, you might find a summary of some tuning posts in this thread, post #5 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88146 'Green' SATA disks can be slow - you may want to set your PC power configuration to "Full Power", which may allow the disk to use more power if it supports it. Other than that I don't have that many tips to share - except the standard "set water to low" - not sure if it applies to BS2 (it was an old trick in BS1). EDIT: Just noticed, we have somewhat similar PC specs, your CPU may clock a bit higher than mine, my disks are quicker (raid 0). But disks only affect loading times - not FPS.

I'm here. Jokes aside - we'll I guess we'll see how well DCS World & P51D behaves, if it remains in the lists. So far, the few days I've been hosting, it's remained listed. (not the past week though - been offline).

159thViper - you're out of luck. (Sorry, internal thing going on here) --- Back on topic. Thanks, I'll run a scan against the bug db, if not I'll post it. :)

known issue :)

Had no such issues while being online myself. Try finding a aircraft spawning in the air, and test again. Then test using the cheat 'auto-startup' RWin+Home, and again. Then you can test your manual startup procedure if you have one. Next time, please provide a short track to provide correct information, then we might be able to reproduce or spot any problems.
-
unfortunately, pepin - I can't even see your loadout after the rearm there. which is another bug in itself I guess. Perhaps you got a screenshot of what you saw? I'll try to put together a report.
-
159thViper - you owe me something!! :D (internal thingy - waiting for Viper to appear in the thread here). Sorry, now back on topic. Thanks for a *correct* report ;) I'll have a look at the track.

Quoted - and we'll hold it to you. Remember, the world ends in 2012. :D

Devil Out to Get me. Installation and Problem Running
Panzertard replied to dne48's topic in Installation Problems
So from what I see there in your logs, correct me if I'm wrong: - You start DCS and loads up a mission. - It crashes while loading that mission? From what I see / suspect - is that the crash happens as it's about to create the Breifing on screen. Still trying to think of why - and provide a fix/workaround. The CRASH may indicate that a crash was caused somewhere within the FSM - I have no idea what module that is. But it is trying to 'normalize path' which may mean it's in the process of opening / looking for a file. But something bad really happened before it got there. Which may lead us to "why isn't it able to find / open the file / normalize the path". Potential Factors on your PC for a file related crashes/problem; - C++ libraries, they both need to be installed and working. - Antivirus blocking filerequests / lookups. - A damaged filesystem (chkdsk c: etc). - A damaged Windows / previous virusinfected PC. - CCleaner removing too much info. - A unforeseen problem within DCS. These are all likely suspects if the evidence is correct - and I view it correctly. But only a Dev may be able to interpret that properly. I understand you've been through a lot to try to fix your problem - although by the looks of it, it may be a factor on your PC. I'm not sure if I can convince you to do a bit more troubleshooting? A treatment for most of these problems can be found in the Troubleshooting thread; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88146 Start with the easy ones. - Run a CHKDSK first, to make sure you got a healthy disk before adding / changing the files below. - Reinstall C++, run Windows Update afterwards. - Figure out how to remove / disable the Antivirus. - Reinstall over the old DCS world + P51. Just maybe one of these things can fix it. Otherwise we may move on to the next steps. -
The important bit; Please respond to these questions. If you can answer on this - then we may have to dig down into the nitty gritty dirty details - to figure out whats going on. I'd probably will have to call out some ED representatives again. Nate / Ethereal - If I'm offline again after a few answers (dinner & chores), maybe you could check in with ED?

Perhaps you can gather some logs for us? Please see post #1 here; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88164 The logs may give us a hint on whats going on. -
You can aquire a license from a friend, but it needs to be bought in a way so it's not linked to your account. I would assume it's not linked while buying - but only later when you use the MP-register feature. Linking the account (for sure);: 1. Starting DCS MP 2. Using the 'register' option. If someone buys a license and link it to an account, then; - You must logon to DCS MP with that account. There no other way around it. That account owns that license. So if you got the License from someone - and that someone has already registered it on his account, then you're locked out. Only 1 user per license. However - is there a possibility that you have; - Got the license. - The other dude gave it away, but never used SF to activate - nor did he start MP and the 'register' feature? - You're now trying to use the license, but fails - because of some system in ED's backend thinks that someone else owns it? It's important to understand - the other bloke must NOT have used that license. Can you be certain of that?
-
what has this to do with a servman banned account for the op? derail complete - lock.
-
Sounds like SF modules / executables can't start and show your the GUI for SF activation. - maybe because of antivirus or something related. Or a problem with your system. Perhaps you should try to do another install - eitehr side by side, or uninstall + install - just to see if you can enable the SF interface again. PS; I need to go now, I hope someone else can also pitch in with some ideas. Cheers.
-
Please try to reactivate - hold LShift down while starting MP. See if you can use the P51 key this time.

Are you sure you don't have any email-filter junk it for you? Perhaps you can add a email whitelisting for *.eagle.ru?

Healthy system - Free up your disk, check them for errors (CHKDSK C: /F etc) - Defrag. (It's quite often superfluious - but it's hard to tell in advance when there's something related to fragmentation). - Ensure that your system is without other related glitches (read the Event Logs for System, Application) - Ensure that you *did* remove all unnecessary software - because Services running in the background will affect your game performance. - A previous virus-infection on your computer, but you think you have cleaned it out? Your Windows is damaged - it may need a full reinstall to actually work properly with the game. Reliability monitor; your "Best friend" in Vista / Windows 7 to detect changes to your PC. (not found in XP). Event Viewer; Check out the "Application" and "System" Eventlogs for crashes or strange system-behavior. Checkdisk; Simple fix for any system-related issues which may be caused by a corrupt file. Reliability monitor: Use your "Best friend" in Vista / Windows 7 to detect changes to your PC. (not found in XP). a) Poke around until you find some relevant issues - try revert some of your changes. Event Viewer: Check out the "Application" and "System" Eventlogs. a) Look for *anything* relevant to the problem you are trying to solve. b) Look for anything being serious enough to cause stability / system issues. CHKDSK: Automaticly fix your disks. Quite often minor issues in your filesystem may cause rather big and very strange issues, crashes. The disk check takes very little effort to perform - a very good insurance for getting a healthy system. - Using CMD (Command prompt) in Administrator mode type. (No admin mode for XP). (You can do it from Explorer/Disk Properties too - but CHKDSK and CMD is the same for all OS - using GUI may vary from OS to OS). 1.) Start a Command Prompt in Admin mode. 2.) CHKDSK C: /F 3.) If you have more disks, continue checking all of them. If you get questions about "disk in use, check on next reboot?" or "dismount volume?" answer "Yes" (Y) to them and continue the process. 4.) It will be complete after a reboot (if a reboot is required). -

Other contributing factors to your DCS issues. There may issues with your Windows installation which may affect the performance and how well DCS is working for you. Troubleshooting Best Practices. Updated Drivers. Make sure you have tested and updated to the lates drivers for your Graphics, Sound and mainboard Chipset drivers (such as AMD/Intel). Bottlenecks in the system may appear for your graphics, loading, sound abnormalitites, fps performance if you have outdated drivers. It may even cause game-crashes for you in some situations. Make sure you can temporary disable and test without Antivirus / Security Suites. Note - DO NOT disable it while you're connected to internet / surfing - wait until you can disconnect from internet. O/C is bad when troubleshooting. O/C must be set to standard frequencies. Timings and everything related to PCI-bus/Graphics are being affected. DCS World v1.1.x.x Common Controller or Input issues If you experience problems, there are some simple tests you can do to figure out where the problem is. To differenciate where the problem is and what to really fix, you can try all of the following methods; Rename or Remove the DCS CONFIG Input files (and keep them for later if they aren't broken). Remember to check the basics; Control Panel / Devices and Printers / Calibration. Unplug everything but your keyboard & mouse. Do not use special controller-software; Unload it. If you have a very special mouse or keyboard, perhaps you could borrow another device and try again. At any stage where you change the devices during troubleshoot; Rename the \Config\Input folder - this will reset inputs to DCS-defaults. Now there's a good chance you may see a difference - and you may be able to nail the cause. Controller Issues PeterP has an excellent Guide to tune your DirectX calibration settings. PeterP's Toolbox for Device Controller Issues TrackIR not working After the patch you may find your TrackIR is not working. If it's been a long time since you updated the TrackIR software you may have to do this first. If you have one of the latest version, all you need to do is update the Game List.
