  1. I predict: The world doesn't end in 2012, instead it ends when the server rotates the map. Besides, if someone really wants to connect the dots properly between ground, air and naval warfare - it's fair to expect they want their investment back. Getting 2-3 major companies working together without getting into a fight over ROI, well that's the impractical part.
  2. Wise words, Peter. I had to put my rabbits to rest - just too much work keeping these scripts adopted to the DCS world and changing versions for my TM Hotas WH. Having the knowledge just to add the required setup (except for DCS A10C, which is working out of the box). Modding scripts - which I normally do fluently - is just too much overhead for a constant changing sim.
  3. What you didn't know, I'm beta testing such a keyboard, moderators edition with "move threads". You should be glad the "ban user" key is broken! Cheap keyboard. j/k of course, it's just that this thread belongs in another place - we still love humor.
  4. not at all, sometimes we just try to put it in perspective and feed you with a bit of info for further discussion. Besides, see what you managed to do, rip c0ff out of his zombie state of programming, allowing him some fresh air on the forums. :D Thanks for the update c0ff. :)
  5. I would think it's hardcoded and linked with the P51D textures and the pilot + external cockpit objects. I havent heard or seen any features that would allow you to change it from the user interface. My best bet would be that you started looking at the EDM files and related files for the P51D. EDIT: Come to think of it, I'll move this over to the mods section, you're likely to get more help there.
  6. Wrong thread, correct threads: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88216 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=74206 ;)
  7. Sorry, I know this comes as a bit late reply, but you should be able to do just that: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=902008&postcount=11
  8. TS and TARS would be a nice combination indeed. And 9 liner readback over voice.
  9. And thats about as many as your MP server can support. It goes without saying, I've not tested that many slots yet :p Come to think of it, perhaps I should bring back out the old battlefield mission with 1800+ units ...
  10. Congrats - you'll be able to be on the receiving end of a CBU-97. We all be able to get some new perspectives. PS: Look up!
  11. And you should probably go elsewhere for your full WWII era battles. You probably wont see a full WWII war with the DCS series for now. However there are already 3'rd parties eveolving on the whole familiy of products now, so some time in the future - who knows. We all hope for the same. TBH, if you check the FAQ it is intended to be like this for now. Dogfighting is still not joke unless you mean "the lack of WWII oponents for a proper dogfight". Dogfighting is probably subjective for both you and I. Certainly no joke for me.
  12. What is "better netcode"? In reality you need to specify what is broken - why it is broken and how it can be improved. ----- Data quality & world precision Inability to host for more planes can mean it's just more complex - more data to synchronize - not that it's crappy. Of course, if you bring more airplanes into a server - and retain the same bandwidth, then you may expect worse precision (data quality) for all the elements in the world. Cost of data-quality vs data-quantity. So what is 'better netcode'? Less data & worse precision? Or better precision and less clients & objects? Or perhaps 'better netcode' really means; Get better lines if you expect more planes and the same precision for the environment? Network reliability So what to improve? UDP reliability? This is one of the major factors which is what causes 'spikes' and lagging. Loss of UDP packages reaching your PC. And when they finally do arrive - the enemy is in another place. Now you could start changing UDP packages with TCP. But then you might realize that the latency in a dogfight would be intolerable due to the increased headers and extra checks with this kind of change. The bandit would be in another place by the time you press the trigger. No, this may indeed not be a good change. Now instead you could ask your opponent to get a better computer & router or change his ISP, so you have a better chance of killing him. Nah, j/k - but you get my point. ;) 2mbps up/downlink. FC / DCS. 14-16 players in a rich environment, 500-1000 units. Good precision, very little lag / loss of UDP. I can't see how this is bad. I've flown dogfights with pilots from the other side of the world having 400-600 ms ping. Still great precision. I can't see how to improve on this. UDP packages will get lost. You can't change this fact unfortunately. PS, I've hosted missions with 10-12 players, with 2000+ units. Unfortunately the pilots instead complained about how their computers started to melt. Not that the net was unreliable.
  13. Ah dang, I do not condone of this thread - all it'll do is doing is making Vipes feel a 100 years older. Incidentally, I think that is what happened, he is officially 142 years now. Happy Birthday Vipes o7 YPV for all :D
  14. I'm soo happy that you were able to identify the problem! Thanks c0ff & bengo, much appreciated :)
  15. Nope, it's just more internal spam from ServMan itself.
  16. We didn't have this problem pre 1.1.1 - at least nobody reported it I think. So this certainly looks like some that could be addressed. Interesting to know if it's the servers client side connection - or the master server.
  17. I can't see the relation to MP even you could do it online - I assume you can reproduce this in SP. I'll move this to the cockpit / view subforums.
  18. We've not seen any such incidents yet no. No mods on the server? Logs please - or rather RAR the whole log-folder and attach it please. --- The known issue behaves a bit differently; - Slots can become occupied (server never releases it again). This can perhaps lead to the server 'thinking there more clients connected' - but this is a new situation. The slots being occupied should be resolved sometime down the line, I can't say when.
  19. Keep these ready for the next Beta - we need to retest to see if it's gone.
  20. I'm reporting this issue. It would be nice if someone is able to 'figure out when this happens / how to reproduce'. Dragon; By the sounds of it. But if you have problems hosting, stay away from Servman until you have a stable Server. Then add ServMan. Dragon; You may not see your Internet MP server on LAN using the 'internet-list MP browser' from another PC. To see a server on your LAN - you must use LAN now instead of the 'internet list'. (It's a bug).
  21. o7 According to this bloke, yes - he had to create 1 folder, then it worked; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1449944&postcount=156
  22. Aye, there's been a few CBU CTD's when dispersing. Reported and soon to be gone again. :) Thanks to all who contributed to the different reports.
  23. Yes, it's a known issue. To be fixed.
  24. EDIT: A bit of clarification; Some post have been deleted, in attempt to keep the derail from happening. Didn't work, even after several public warnings. The who said what, when, why is gone - your initial views remain; that some of you are not happy about the situation. Thread closed, it'll give us all a break for now - and everyone else time to cool off a bit.
  25. Oh darn, where's my boxers and my sunscreen!? Nice one, diveplan.
