  1. Twitch stream recording of DCS on VA server at 8000 bitrate and some nice settings
  2. It seems much like a 'your mileage may vary' kind of tweak, the people I speak to on Teamspeak all report positive increases with no problems, not sure what to say to those who get no increases or even worse performance, guess that's the nature of PCs with all the thousands/millions of different configurations in the mix.
  3. I reported this months ago https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=248613 DCS MSAA option on nvidia cards seems to be the link.
  4. I was using the disable fullscreen optimization tickbox under compatibility before using the registry edit, I got the framerate boost directly after that.
  5. FYI as mentioned in first post all the necessary lines are included in the .reg file I provided in the Google Drive link, no need to do anything manually.
  6. The game mode switch and this registry edit seem to function differently to each other, try it and see.
  7. Yes it's safe, no other issues are caused by doing this try it and see.
  8. This article may help out a good number of you who might be experiencing sub par performance with VR or even 2D setups https://windowsreport.com/windows-10-version-1903-gaming/?fbclid=IwAR0C2R_1_PVdg-I3pOPfwIWYC88V8WrVUuK1bQTyhtpNP6bw3xHS9WOXb6U "To understand it better, when you run a game in exclusive fullscreen mode, the image goes from the game directly to your screen. After the update, the game is first rendered, then goes through Windows Desktop, and then to the screen. This leads to input lag and performance issues in many games." I have created the required .reg file for those who want to try this out, it has been tried and tested by many people and everyone I have spoke to have seen a rise in performance, especially those with VR. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1baftisLScNUoN01gSOY7Y98OtIq9IVoK simply download this file and double click it and allow it to modify registry then reboot, it will add the entries as seen in the screenshot attached below.
  9. You do just single player? I could understand you losing interest in DCS if that's all you do.
  10. Yes I have read about this and that might be the case with other games, but I have tried 8x setting with DCS and the image quality looks even better on my machine so I have stuck with that. edit: I have also started using DCS SSAA 1.5x along with 4xMSAA and 8xSGSSAA, at 1920x1080 the picture is perfect and while there is some framerate loss it's acceptable.
  11. Have you tried using nvidia Profile Inspector before? Get it from here https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/ set your ingame MSAA to 4x then open profile inspector and set Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling to 8x Sparse Grid as show in the screenshot below.
  12. Check this video at 1:15sec, it's not too far off
  13. Switch off nvidia (enhanced) MFAA, see posts in this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3579833&postcount=24
  14. MFAA is known to cause graphical issues in DCS, example https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3579833&postcount=24
  15. Server updated to 2.5.5.39384 Open Beta.
  16. Great skin, I really like it  (Kunsan AFB 16s)
  17. Can verify this bug, just set clouds to 8 or whatever and tick the enable dust in mission editor, mine looks exactly like OP shows.
  18. Server has been going between Caucasus and PG missions on a near daily basis (Op Longbow and Op Desert Viper to name two)
  19. 48" screen user here
  20. I recently dropped my mouse from 1000hz to 125hz in my Logitech software and this makes the mouse camera movements in DCS much better.
  21. 104th server has just done the same, it's up but gone from the list.
  22. Within options.lua in Saved Games dir ["SSAO"] = 1,
  23. Bump up for this old thread - thought I'd revisit SSAO to see how it performs with the latest DCS openbeta, I'm really pleased to say it performs quite nicely now and looks very good too, the FPS drop is negligible and the effect although subtle does a good job at shading those areas that should be shaded  I had it running during my Twitch stream earlier tonight, alot depends on how keen an eye you have for details but I can definitely see it working
