  1. Really? Gold is after the final beta version has been passed and the game is available for purchase.. But you knew that right??? :D ~S~ Blaze
  2. Weta: I'm in total agreement with everything that you mentioned.. I'm sure that we would all like to see this happen in Black Shark.. Even if its on a small scale this would be cool... ~S~ Blaze
  3. Back in January I reinstalled Lock On when I completed the first build of my present computer... At that time I had some problems installing Flaming Cliffs... So I without worrying to much, I thought that I would just go ahead and buy it again... So after the purchase I tried to install it automatically...And It wouldn't install and so I then tried to install it manually.. This failed as well, I was beginning to get confused so I though that the purchase didn't take so I purchased it again. and went through the installation procedure and again it failed.. The next thing that I did was go to the order screen and copy the serial number and then went back and installed it manually using the copied serial number.. Now it worked and installed Flaming Cliffs, but with one exception I was told that this was my last allowable install with this serial number.. Ok... well last week I changed my motherboard and tried to install Flaming Cliffs... I had forgotten about the purchases in January, and that I was never able to use them...So of course the game wouldn't install automatically.. I then purchased the game again...and this time copied the serial number listed on the purchase screen.. I pasted this into the manual installation screen and clicked install.. I then received a message that this serial number had no installations left and I had to enter another serial number... So I've purchased this three times and with the initial purchase it's up to 4 times and I still cant install Flaming Cliffs... Actually when the game is purchased the serial number on the purchase screen should be updated automatically... And now it's been a long time and I still haven't heard from star force... How boring... Blaze
  4. This just keeps getting better and better doesn't it .. And just maybe, some day we'll be able to actually fly the Apache as well... :smilewink: ~S~ Blaze
  5. Ok.. I called the Microsoft Upgrade Dept today concerning the mistake in shipping me a 32 bit disk instead of a 64... Well it seems that MS has made a last minute decision to not send out 64bit disks for any upgrades... So its 32 bit take or or leave it.... This does suck but it's not the end of the world for me, I was only upgrading Vista 64 on my business computer to familiarize myself with it .. I have no intentions on using the 64 on my new gaming PC.. The 32 bit drivers for Vista are hard enough to deal with... Anyway I'm going to wait before I upgrade or its downgrade :music_whistling: Vista... Its still not really mature enough from what I can see... ~S~ Blaze
  6. You know that thought did cross my mind as well, What about it HM do you want to do that instead... Good call PA... ~S~ Blaze
  7. Well after waiting 4 months for the upgrade Vista 64 disk to arrive... It finally did but guess what, it's another Vista 32 bit upgrade... So I now have two of the same disks... and the one that I'm actually going to use first is for the 64 bit operating system... I'm now faced with more phone calls to the Microsoft upgrade department, and most likely an other long wait with more shipping fees.. What a nightmare this is ..... And I'm doing all this just to gain experience with Vista.... I'm certainly not going to install Vista 64 on my gaming computer as the drivers for 32, (from what I've been reading) are hard enough to get to function let alone the 64 drivers... And also I've just installed a new MB in my gaming PC and its running well... So I don't want to fool with that at present... Today is Sunday and the call to Microsoft went unanswered as they're not working weekends... So I'm now faced with waiting one more day, I don't know whats worse Star Force or Microsoft as I'm facing issues with both right now.... :dunno: ~S~ Blaze
  8. Pioltasso: Is there any new ideas or recent developments happening with your your planned rig ??? ~S~ Blaze
  9. Its not recommended that you change to a raid setup after you finished a reformat... You have to set up raid at the beginning... I just finished doing two re formats on two systems this week, so its still clear in my mind... But I've read so much in the last 4 days I can't remember where I saw it... I'm afraid that you're going to have to do it all over again .. and don't forget that If you want to go with raid you'll have to set it up in the BIOS before you start the initial windows install... ~S~ Blaze
  10. That's a great looking card .... I have the BFG version and it rocks... Well I tried loading up Lock On today so I could see if this MB was any better then the last P5N32-E.. Its not that solid yet, but I usually have small issues with most of the MB's after installation... Usually they need to burn in.. All the hardware and software has to mesh.... But I'm having trouble with Star Force right now, and its going to take a little while before I solve this issue... I've got my X-Fi and TIR 4 in and working and got the Cougar up and running so I decided to try out FSX... Its actually better now then the Commando... and the first P5N wouldn't even run it ... Oh and by the way all of the settings are maxed out.... I'm glad that I waited to until I was able to use the XP drivers off of the disk, rather then using the Vista from the web sight.. I'm just not ready for that headache yet.. But I'm just putting off the inevitable of finding Vista drivers for my applications... ~S~ Blaze
  11. As far as running DX10... Its only available with Nvidia 8 series.. And of course you have to be running Vista as well...
  12. Those are without a doubt some very unusual pictures... There also nice and clear... ~S~ Blaze
  13. I like the effect, It looks like acrylic oils on canvas.... ~S~ Blaze
  14. Well it looks like the window wants you to select AGP or PCI... What are you running??? ~S~ Blaze
  15. So Ok ... I've installed the P5N32-E SLI ... And I'm now installing all the software :yay: This is a real bear to do.. And its like that every time... But it's well worth the effort.. As I posted earlier the nvraid is very complicated and it seems to change every time that I install it.. This time when F6 arrived I use a floppy with the raid drivers and also used a CD that came with the hard drives, (I really never had to do this before) but it worked..... LOL But anyway its back up, and better then ever.. I think that they must have changed the bios for better performance... at least that it appears to be.. I'm going to cross reference this just to be sure later on... Although It seems to be rock solid on this install.. Tomorrow I'll begin to start installing Lock On and run it at load to see if its still stable... :smilewink: Oh I forgot to mention that today is my birthday...This is without a doubt a cool birthday present, I also got a very nice Sony 750 watt surround sound system with very cool Infinity speakers for when I watch DVD's on the Samsung 32" LCD... Today life is good :megalol: ~S~ Blaze
  16. I think he said that he switched from a CRT to an LCD .... I don't think that he's useing a projector, but I could be wrong... Oh sorry I see what you mean .... ~S~ Blaze
  17. I concur.. To actually be able to visually see the human element would bring up the immersion 100%... The way it is now the game is a stark and lonely environment.. Seeing actual people with give us more realism ... If were going to have a war in a mud moving environment we'll need to see the enemy... ~S~ Blaze
  18. Well that looks sort of like the Commando's big brother.. LOL It's got the intel chip set that from my experience is very stable... You shouldn't have any issues installing this one and getting it to run smoothly on the first shot... Of course your aware that this is a crossfire board, you can get it to run SLI but the drivers are unofficial... Good luck with you're new system Bro... I know that you're going to enjoy every minute of it... ~S~ Blaze
  19. I'm not an ATI person but I think that these all work pretty much the same way.... First go to Guru3d, find the lastest drivers that are listed, download the file to your desk top.... Then Go to control panel> Open up system > click on the hardware tab > Enter device manager > click on display adapter > your video card will be listed, click on this > next click on the drivers tab > ok then click on unistall Then go to Start and then click on restart ... After you reboot go to the new drivers install file that will be on your desk top and follow the directions... ~S~ Blaze
  20. Kuky: Yes I agree with you, my Cougar was and still is my most treasured piece of flight sim hardware... And then it was IJ's NXT mod that really brought this stick into focus.. Mine is about 4 years old as well but it looks almost as good as the day I pulled it out of the box... But the Simped pedals and Track IR are running a close second... I think that's its very sad that the gentleman that produces the simpeds has cancer, Even though hes sick he's still producing these wonderful pedals in a workshop in back of his house in Bavaria ... What courage !!!! ~S~ Blaze
  21. Pilotasso... are you following this blow by blow critique?? Ok I've gotten through the raid drivers issue, windows actually recognises the Nvidia drivers... and I've gotten all the way to the end and now windows is about to ask me to sign off on accepting the license.. But.... it doesn't see the hard drives.... and reboots... This is a very fussy Mother Board... I had the same problems with this the last time... The Nvidia raid drive setup is very detailed and you have to get the sequence right... The Asus manual in this case is very vague, it should really have more precise instructions... Its ok though I just can't remember how I did this the last time... But if I did once I can do it again... Blaze
  22. I have it set to 1280... The picture image is actually better then my CRT monitor... LOL ~S~ Blaze
  23. I think you'll get more bang for your buck by adding another Gig of ram.. That's if its possible with your currant MOBO.. ~S~ Blaze
  24. Well yesterday I finally got my AMD XP Pro 64 reformatted .. And today I spent a few hours with the intell system, after installing the MB last night, I got around to powering up today... The first try didn't go to well, there wasn't any video and a sono alert was going off... I put it back on the work table and unplugged everything.. Then I removed the CPU to see if I had it installed properly... Next I remounted the CPU and checked all of the plugs as I refitted them.. I think I found that the 8800 power plug was mistakenly plugged into a fan power lead... LOL ... I move the CLRTC jumper to clear the BIOS, checked all of the connections once more and proceeded to power up again... This time everything worked perfectly.. The next step was to set up the HD to RAID 0... the system began to load windows and everything went fine until I hit the installation of the RAID drivers floppy... Well this is usually where I have most of my problems when formatting.. So by now I was feeling tired so I'm going to wait until tomorrow and slowly retrace all of my steps for setting up the floppy... I'm sure that I'll get it... I'm going to get some sleep and give it a fresh try tomorrow... ~S~ Blaze
  25. I've got an e6600 in my gameing system, It has very good performance with Lock On, I haven't seen any micro stutters... Quad's are not really necessary with todays games/sims... Save your money and use it for something else.... ~S~ Blaze
