  2. MrWolf thanks for the heads up.. I do use your sight exclusively for Lock On and was glad when you brought it back on line... ~S~ Blaze
  3. I know that I can rotate the camera angles with my stick using the mini stick, and before I got TIR4 I used it very effectively as the cockpit mouse.... but its better using that external mouse to pan around.. ~S~ Blaze
  4. Well I'm almost sure that we're not going to see this one any time soon... I'll be glad just to see BS with whatever ED decides to put in it.... ~S~ Blaze
  5. I used to have to communicate quite a lot with the tower while in the Marines.. But sure, once you get out of Air/Fram.. You had your pick of what Aviation MOS that you wanted to specialize in... I chose to be a tech on the flight line... I could have taken ATC but wasn't interested.. The other one that I thought about was parachute rigger... But you pack your own chute, and then jump.. :music_whistling: If I had to jump that was ok, but I didn't really want to go to jump school .. So yeah... the military is without a doubt the best training for ATC, and if you decide not to make it a carer of it you can shoehorn your self into a civilian airport... ~S~ Blaze
  6. Since you brought this up I'm running an 8800 gts ... Its a BFG geforce 8800 gts and these are the specs .. 640 MB gddr3 Core Clock 500 Mhz Shader Clock 1200 Mhz Memory Clock 1600 Mhz The BFG geforce 8800 gtx 768 MB gddr3 core clock 575 Mhz shader clock 1350 Mhz memory clock 1800 Mhz... I went to the nvidia web sight and down loaded the Adrianne demo for DX10.. And all I can say is.... OHRAAA !!!! This is almost like the holodeck... ~S~ Blaze
  7. I would RMA it guy... If that's the only card that you have .... I've taken Vid cards apart but they've been cards that have been giving me issues, And I really didn't need them, I had a new card in the system... If you've done this before and you feel confident then you should be ok... If not RMA it Bro... ~S~ Blaze
  8. Very Cool .... ~S~ Blaze
  9. This is very similar to what Intel did some time last year. Which was apparently a very smart move on their part, to lower their operating costs ... ~S~ Blaze
  10. My thoughts on the Nvidia versus ATI is that AMD is actually losing the cpu race as it now stands, just as I'm betting that ATI will again regain its throne in the GPU race.. It was brought to my attention that AMD will be making the chip for the new DX10 cards for ATI and that Nvidia will not be able to compete as AMD is vastly larger then Nvidia.. And this is ironic as I had been speaking with the AMD rep in the Compusa store that I'm managing.. This was back when AMD was on top ... He actually stated that intel will eventually pull ahead as they are significantly larger.. And this has actually come to pass within the last year... Now lf Nvidia teamed up with intel it most likely would cause AMD to be in second place for many years to come.... These are some very interesting times in the field of electronics.. And this field seems to again be fueling the World Economy... ~S~ Blaze
  11. It looks spot on Bro.... ~S~ Blaze
  12. So when do you expect delivery of your new kitty ???? I'm sure that you did the right thing.. If any problems appear there's allway's someone here or at cougar world that can answer them or point you in the right direction.. ~S~ Blaze
  13. I'm going to watch this as it develops.. Its very interesting indeed... As far as drivers for the 8800 gts not working with your present glasses PoleCat.. I have the same card and installed the newest drivers last night.. They work well with this card and seem to have fixed some issues... These might have fixed your glasses.. Have you tried this yet??? ~S~ Blaze
  14. I just hope that we all live long enough to make it to the next Presidential Election.. Blaze
  15. It should be in a museum some where...nice job ~S~ Blaze
  16. Thanks for keeping us informed... You should get a medal for being able to hold this together Guy... ~S~ Blaze
  17. Oh yeah  I'm still having problems with the Avionics in AF.. But then I don't really go there often enough I guess. When I first got Af in October I was really reading everything and trying to get into a routine, which I think is the best way to learn.. But then I started the new system build, and so I lost interest.. I've been trying to go back AF but haven't had the time let alone OF... Of course I will eventually in due time get this sorted out just like I do everything else... Blaze
  18. I have a Samsung TFT 32"... But because its a TV/ Monitor I'm forced to run it at native resolutions 1024x768.. I tired higher settins but got a blue screen with a "NO SIGNAL" message... But actually the picture is really awesome, even at this resolution... ~S~ Blaze
  19. Deadman ..... Now that was fast.. ~S~ Blaze
  20. I'm going to keep watching this one.... :smilewink: ~S~ Blaze
  21. The shadow bug unfortunatly still exists for me even with these new drivers.. The white splotches are still persent around the leading edges of aircraft with full shadows, again causeing me to lower this this setting from full to all planer.. Everything else is either on high or at full settings.. So all in all, I'm finding that there is real improvement with these drivers they still don't totally correcting all of the infamous Lock On issues... But Lock On was written in DX8, so they're are awsome considering this... And because of this inheriant problem, I'm definatly going to try out the the new ATI card for DX10 with the AMD GPU chip, and if its a winner I'll most likely go with crossfire...
  22. Another year before BS--- OMFG... Blaze
  23. Yeah Guy....Thats the smart way to do it.... Blaze
  24. I just installed them and tried them out in game play... I've found on my rig that there's about a 10 to 15 FPS increase.. The detail is now much clearer than before.. You can get a visual on aircraft much sooner.. And it addressed some of the shader issues that I had before.. There were actually some seams visible in ground texture, this has been completely eliminated .. Although the cockpit shimmering around the gauges is still present it has been diminished.. So I'm quite happy with these as they have made a good improvement.. I'll need to do some further testing though to get the complete picture... ~S~ Blaze
