Hotas Cougar and Lock On
VMFA-Blaze replied to Ronen_101's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I actually set mine up in the options> input while in the game.. for me its very easy as I've been here since the release.. And as a matter of fact all the sims have this function pretty much... And you can actually setup more then one profile, although I've never really understood how to do this... But I only usually fly the intercepteurs anyway, so I haven't taken the time to figure this out.. So If I have to reformat or reinstall Lock On, I know how it like the buttons set and I just reprogram... ~S~ Blaze -

You said it KUK...These MS employes are really condensending, on Mon. one of them aked me if I was haveing a good day, and when I told him that I was fine He said I'm sorry to hear that.... they're all a bunch of smart a**'s, in my book... I think that I must have spoken to every department there is in the last 2 weeks.... There's is no customers service left in that Company... ~S~ Blaze -
How's he going to be able to install XP.. HUH?? You can't buy XP anywhere and his laptop came with Vista installed.. Maybe he might be able to get it installed through a builder somewhere, but that's illegal isn't it .. Blaze

Vista Upgrade Nightmare
VMFA-Blaze replied to VMFA-Blaze's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm beginning to think your right... I don't know what's happen to my upgrade Their really having some sever problems with their staff over at MS.. After several phone calls and e-mails, and even letters proving my purchase of the OEM software with an upgrade certificate I'm right where I started from.. And I'm beginning to think that this really is the best place to be for now.. I mean I have 3 goods systems one has the latest hardware, 2 are running windows XP pro and one XP Home.... So I'm just going to cross Vista off for now... I think that I finally did something right by buying the latest hardware... And getting the system up and running just weeks before I would have had to install Vista.. So I'm going to wait for awhile... ~S~ Blaze -
I'm sorry I don't want to lead you astray... I found this it might help even though its on another Forum... http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=57692 This has some detail that you might find useful ~S~ Blaze

If that's the case so be it... Anyway I'm hoping that the next project will be out of the door a lot faster then were experiencing with BS. After all I think the real hold up here was the commercial release having to take a back seat to the National Guard... And the AFM structure should be in place for future applications.. Although I do seem to remember one of the developers mentioning that the AI avionics were actually going to be simulated closer to the way that the flyables are presently being modeled... So if it doesn't happen now we have that to look forward to anyway.... ~S~ Blaze

Want to add the R-77 to the Sukhois

My favorite Russian bird as well.... ~S~ Blaze -
HPO; As far as I know the Halls have always been included in his designs.. He works with a supplier that goes by the name of CubPilot... The whole operation is coordinated usually so that the sensors are shipped and the same time that the run goes out to the customer.. They're like a garage operation but they're well organized and like I said from using this mod on a daily basis, its a quality operation... ~S~ Blaze

I've heard rumors that the AI was being worked on, but there has been no official word that this will actually make LOBS or not... I really hope that it does as I fly primarily offline and would really like to see this happen... ~S~ Blaze

The Cougar was designed with a removable stick handle.. Thrustmaster had originally planned on making the Cougar have an interchangeable handle ... It just unscrews from the base and you were supposed to be able to screw a different aircraft stick onto the base... But this never actually happen I guess the cost developing another stick and putting it into production caused them to shelve the idea... ~S~ Blaze

HPO : The last photo at the bottom is IJ's "NXT" mod .. This was actually designed and is produced by him on a custom type of deal.. Its very expensive, but as you can see it's precision all the way... The mod also has Hall sensors which never wear out because there's no moving parts.. So the last time looked the "NXT" was going for over 300.00 USD.. But it's well worth the price ... The top 2 shots are of mods that are no longer available... But I thought that you might find these interesting.. Oh and by the way they were about half the price of the "NXT", but you can see the difference... I hope that this doesn't throw you off too much... ~S~ Blaze

From what I've heard, once you install Vista you actually give up your XP license... And there isn't anywhere that XP can be purchased.. Besides if other guy's have made this happen I'm sure that wasserfall can overcome this issue... Blaze

I was thinking about getting the clip but I don't like wearing earphones unless I have to.. I wear glasses and with the pressure of the phones pushing against my ears for an extended length of time they do begin to bother me... so if the clip isn't that good I'm glad that I didn't order it.... Thanks for the heads up Guy's ~S~ Blaze

Actually the base in this shot is a Cougar.... So it for me this is great news.. It means that if and when the stick goes into production that I'll be able to plug it into my base with has the highly accurate "NXT" Mod..... ~S~ Blaze

Yeah that's an excellent idea Fudd.. It should fit, I'm thinking I'll pick one up from from Compusa, when I go into work tomorrow.. ~S~ Blaze

I'm with you on that one bro.. I tried the Frogfoot again the other day after a long time.. I had to stick my nose back in the manual for certain things... But i've become disenchanted with ATG.. the trees are just not up to the same level to the rest of the the sim... I really wish that ED could actually do something before they release LOBS..... But It looks like were going to have to wait for a new engine before we see something like that..... Anyway I'm guessing that its going to be a lot of fun just to climb into the cockpit of the KA-50 and manually hit all of the buttons and switches and actually fly a mission... ~S~ Blaze

Its a Zalman 3200 led... As you can see I'm actually running without the side cover... I don't think that the small case fans are strong enough to cool everything properly But I don't know the Zalman might be enough... I just hope that I have enough cooling to handle over clocking.. But I still haven't finished reading everything.. Hopefully I should be able to get all of this information into this thick skull of mine... ~S~ Blaze

HPO... Beautiful, simply beautiful..... Thanks for the awesome update... ~S~ Blaze

Controler Questions?
VMFA-Blaze replied to worldsurfradio's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There have been a lot of problems with them in the past, but once there modded they are very accurate... The original gimbals aren't up to par with the rest of the stick. so the outcome is you develop flat spots, and the center shaftway wears and the travel time for the gimbals increases... So to retify this you have to purchase one of the available mod's... I think what actually happend was when the hotas was being developed the design team was pushed into making some bad decisions in order to get the stick on to the market.. And most likely to do the gimbals properly would have priced the stick out of the affordability range... But even so Thrustmaster has delt with some of the smaller quality issues over the past.. For example they've changed the paint from sprayed on enamel to a powder coat just to name one.. So I love my Cougar and won't do without it, even if there are some other sticks released that I would buy, Ill still keep my Cougar..as it will last a lifetime.... ~S~ Blaze -
Controler Questions?
VMFA-Blaze replied to worldsurfradio's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
KUK: I don't think that we can actually order from that company, about 2 years ago they approached some people on the Frugal's forums, and from what I understand it turned out to be a bad experience for them... And the outcome of that was that they decided not to sell to the public.. It's really to bad because they look like some good quality HOTAS, and its (I think) an F-15 replication.... ~S Blaze -
Thanks Haze.... I'm studying everything right now, I want to go very slowly, I don't want to spnd anther 350.00 USD for a new CPU if I don't have to .... So Thanks Again... ~S~ Blaze
