Nice find Kusch.... I don't know if you guy's get the military channel were you are? There was a 1 hr. long show that dealt will the development of this bird.. It was stated that the chopper had to kept to large proportions as it's first priority is that of a transport....But it is a very formidable, deadly gun ship without a doubt... ~S~ Blaze

Can MSFS models be ported to LO?
VMFA-Blaze replied to Colt40Five's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Yes this is really to bad, 'cause I'd like to try being a bomber pilot, similar to IL2.. Take a look at these... Maybe someday Ed will be able to give us something along these lines, but of course they'll be better... you'll actually be able to blow something up ~S~ Blaze -

Yes John that doesn't sound good at all.... Unfortunately I think there's only one way you'll get a lap top to demo Lock On for your work .. But I'm not going there... ~S~ Blaze -
Planning my new badass machine.

1900 EUROS sounds about right.. That's what I spent on mine.. Although I spent an additional 175.00 USD for a new wireless key bd. and mouse.. And I also spent another 1400.00 USD for my Samsung 32" HD TV / monitor.. Systems like ours should be good for at least 2years.. Although I don't have Quad Core, my MB will accept it so I might try this out before the Holidays next year.... So good luck on getting your system and I hope that you can get a big savings if and when the prices drop... ~S~ Blaze -
I just finished viewing the training video... Is this what you do for a living .. Now that's High Tech, without a doubt... I can see that your joy sticks will be of excellent quality... I really hope that you decide to go into a limited production at least so that all the guys here at the Lock ON forum as well as myself.... can have one.. This will give total immersion.... thanks for posting the training video... Awesome !!!! ~S~ Blaze

Female voices were used in the past because the pilot world was dominated by men... So when a woman's voice was heard you knew that it was the tower.. I'm not sure if this is still Germain to today's sky's? So yes I guess now a males voice is current ... Thanks I'll check it out... ~S~ Blaze

I have a question concerning the stick.. I know that your presently using that machine to develop the joy stick prototype.. Now if you do decide to put this into production is that the machine that you'll use or will you make a mold to reproduce the stick? ~S~ Blaze

Falcon 4 AF really does have some very detailed avionics... that's really what stands out with that sim.. I was really surprised on just how accurate the avionics were modeled as compared to Lock On's.. I think that Ed is aware of this and I'm hoping that this will be fixed in the near future.. Lock On has no competition at all concerning their graphics and flight models... And of course the mission builder here really needs attention as well.. And again from what I hear this being worked on as well... ~S~ Blaze

I installed the lasest skin from Walmasis sig useing Modman.. I like it but there seems to be a lot of missing textures .. Like for example the inside of the jet nozzels is missing ... So I unistalled it.. Pity as I think the mod could look better then the original skin.. But with the missing textures it doesn't ... ~S~ Blaze

I answered a post regarding this sim yesterday... I've actually been posting on that forum since early last summer.... I looks like they might have an interactive pilot in that one, which is quite interesting ... Theyer using their own graphics engine as well as developing a very intricate mission builder.... It should be very flyable for a number of varied PC's as they're using an Nvidia 6600 to develop the sim... There is some very talented artists working there, look at the screen shots.. ~S~ Blaze

Vista w/ LockOn, another system running...
VMFA-Blaze replied to H4rM's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I'm beginning to get a little fed up with waiting for MS to deliver my Vista upgrades... And I really hate calling MS because I always seem to get someone from India that doesn't speak that good of English.. and acts like I'm bothering them or something.... Well I actually purchased the OEM systems from Newegg.. so I'm going to wait a day or two more and contact NE.... I mean the the 2 Cd's cost over 300.00 USD.. -
Making a new computer, how will LOMAC run?
VMFA-Blaze replied to p_o_d_2_2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Building your own is really a big part of the fun of flight simming bro... It can get really frustrating when you have a problem though... I know that there where times when I felt like I wasted a lot of money... I know what works for me is to just keep at and start to pay a little more attention to what I'm doing and I usually solve the problem... So enjoy and don't forget if you have any issues were all help you if we can.... ~S~ Blaze -

I have the 8800GTS... the problem is a rather small one from my stand point.. I did seem to have more issues when I first installed the card but for some reason my graphics have gotten better... The only thing that I actually did was to lower the shadow setting from full to all planar.. Everything else is set to maximum.. Lock On is actually really starting to open up for me finally after all of this time.. Visuals are astounding, especially in dog fights using TIR 4 Pro... Its very cool to see the enemy whizzing by the canopy, the detail is incredible and that goes for missile shots as well.. I can finally see their vapor trails heading for me and in some instances take evasive action... Now all I have to do is practice and I can actually get good at this ... But as far as upgrading my card I'm planning on going with an ATI Crossfire for DX10 when its finally released at the end of the summer... ~S~ Blaze -

So whats the verdit Hitman did the new Creative drivers work for you ? ~S~ Blaze -
I've actually been following this (KOTS) simulators development since early last summer.. The gentleman's name I believe is An Petrovic.. And he was working here at ED and is actually working for GT now ...... As far as telling them how to develop the flight model for that simulation maybe that's the way he works, but why does it matter.. He' done a excellent job here at ED developing the AFM for the SU-25T and as far as I know all of future AFM will be based on his original guide lines... And I hear that he's carried his excellent skills over to GT, and the flight model of all the WWI A/C, will be spot on as well ... ~S~ Blaze

Yes I was going to say the same thing regarding the power supply... When you build you want to have enough power to handle everything in your system.. And you should get one with extra power in case you want to go SLI or Crossfire.. 850 is a good choice for now.... And you should also use a quality PS like Antec or Enermax, that way you'll actually get the power that's rated on the side of the P/S case..Cheaper power supplies don't always provide what they say they do... And another thing regarding on line shopping don't buy everything in one place as you'll wind up spending more then you should.. Try BizRate to name one for comparison shopping.. They usually deal with a number of reputable vendors and most vendors have different prices for different items... I'm no ace but I've learned this from trail and error... ~S~ Blaze
