GA: I would like to see missiles leaving the rails and explosion models.. Have they been upgraded yet ??? And also have the trees been changed at all ??? I know that there's been been a few posts from the developers that they do plan on implementing advanced terrain effects, but that we probably wont see this in LOBS.. But lets see some terrain details anyway.. And I would like to see a demo of the new mission editor... Even if it's not completed yet, some shots of the splash screen would be cool... And last but not least could you make it interactive :megalol: ~S~ Blaze

Possible memory leak, is there a -maxmem flag?
VMFA-Blaze replied to peterj's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think that I'll wait a little longer for a Vista upgrade.. I'm beginning to see a lot of issues here... :( I think that by getting XP Pro with the Vista upgrade was a very good decision on my part... So I can wait until the O/S is more stable before installing and its only costing me $ 10.00 USD for shipping and handleing :smilewink: ~S~ Blaze -
I have X-Fi with the front panel installed as well.. but I had a very difficult time getting it to actually work.. I didn't reformat because I have a lot of files that I just didn't want to reinstall.. I was all over the Creative forums trying to find out why I couldn't get the unit to function properly, when I finally uncovered the answer.. I just deleted Quick Time temporarily and that solved the problem.... ~S~ Blaze

Falcon 4 AF has this as well... Also Falcon has a TACAN check list that would be very cool to have in Lock On.... ~S~ Blaze

Flanker Grips, I've been waiting for someone to take on this endeavor for quite a while now.. I wanted to do it myself but its beyond me at present ..... Please let me know when you have something started I'd like to follow the progress all the way through.. I mean only if you have the time and the inclination that is... :D Thanks Blaze

I had the Asus board with the 680i chip set and had quite a lot of trouble with it... I think the main issue is memory, it seems to be very choosy with the settings that you can run.. Well I had it flying for about 2 days with XP Pro 64 and it wasn't that bad... I had to change to the 32 bit O/S because I couldn't install my Cougar.. Well after installing the 32 bit drivers I began to get blue screens when I tried to run it under load... Now that I look back on it I think what might have happened was changing the O/S must have altered the memory settings.. I just didn't have enough experience to handle the issue unfortunately... I still feel bad about having RMA'd the board.. It had a lot of nice features like SLI and even a physics card setting ... But maybe it will work out for the best.... I now have the Commando, with cross fire capabilities.... I just want to see what ATI has to offer for DX10.... ~S~ Blaze

Yes I'm going to skip this one for now... I've heard some good as well as some bad comments.. Lock On is running quite well for me, so why take a chance... But I will try it out on one of my other systems just to see what its like to install.... I hope to get my upgrades from MS any day now.... ~S~ Blaze

I sort of miss the old duty station.... I was at the VA Hospital in Manhattan awhile back and was speaking with a few former Marines.. It actually turned out that one dude was stationed there as well and goes back to visit now and then.. So it got me thinking, and I might just take a ride down there this summer to see the place.. And rekindle some old memories... MH-53 Chopper squadron, damn its a small world  ~S~ Blaze -

A new mission editor is really good news, as well as AI development.... Thanks Matt for the official update...... ~S~ Blaze -
Joe thanks for getting back to me regarding the camera.. Yes that's quality to say the least.. As far as the closeness of the A/C, I've been there quite often. In fact we use to have to wear ear protection (Mikey Mouse Ears), I'm not sure if this is still required... ~S~ Blaze

Nice.. I have been thinking about getting another Cougar.. You can actually go into a Compusa close to whare I live and purchase it right off the shelf... So its very tempting ... And I would like to try out the FFB... I've heard a lot of good things about it.... ~S~ Blaze

Thanks for the heads up.. I missed this ... ~S~ Blaze

G Great ... How's the FFB ???? ~S~ Blaze

I had it running on XP Pro 64 in Dec.. Well ..I didn't have any problem with the graphics, But I did have a controller issue.. I mean the stick doesn't have 64 bit drivers... Now I've heard that if your running Vista Office 64 that the driver issue has been resolved.. but I don't really want to personally take that step yet on my gaming system... I've ordered the Vista upgrade from MS for XP Pro 32 and 64 and when they arrive I will install Vista Pro 64 on my AMD 64 3200 PC and give it another try... ~S~ Blaze

New Air-to-Air Refuelling Tutorial for the A-10/KC-10.
VMFA-Blaze replied to DPS's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I did look into the included missions and they are very nicely and professionally done... They've got the support trucks working on servicing the aircraft before take off for onething... This gives you a feeling that your not by yourself ... And the mission objectives Tye in nicely with the way the missions are carried out, very close to RL... It gives me some new ideas to try out on missions that I build myself.... Now if we can just get that DC builder from ED :) ~S~ Blaze -
Good morning ... I just woke up and its a cold and cloudy day here in NY.. Ok ... First off the Cougar doesn't actually have to be modded.. Mine is 4 years old and I just modded it last year.. If your flying boom and zoom then you really don't need to mod the stick but if you like A2G or guns guns guns then the mod will give you extreme precision... But the mods are expensive.. IJ's NXT is about 300.00 USD or if you want the flyXwire mod "FCC" is about 330.00.. and plus the cost of the Cougar which is 250.00 and the Hall senor Kit for the throttle is 75.00 USD.. ~S~ Blaze
