  1. no, my model isn't on turbosquid, in fact i din't put the 3D model nowhere because i know there are many ways to ripp the 3d models from turbosquid, avoiding to pay it. don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining, i'm just saying that my work values that price. who has the money and wants to buy it, good for him, i'm selling it. but i'm not crying if i don't sell more than 1 mod. that's the right price for my work and that's the right price for combatace's su's and so on. as arguments i bring you many if you want..or, you may try to work 3D models too, so you can understand what's all about.
  2. my models value the price i gave...what do you think i don't care, who wants one of my models knows what's the price. i'm not trying to get rich by this anyway, but i feel offensed by the arrogance people are showing here. and this because you don't know how much work we put into this. it's like Combatace said, work for a month for free, or in some cases even more..i wonder, how many of you downloaded and use Combatace's Su-33 and Su-27UB models, for example? How many of you donated at least one cent to this man, and how does he feel by making to this community such a big favor, for free? And how much time did he spent for this work? I'm sorry but here is not about me, it's about all the modders.
  3. this is why i didn't release any of my models till now. nobody wants to pay for a good 3d model. well then, you guys deserve to wait for ED to work their entire fleet, no matter how long it'd take... i'm a little suspicious that ED would ever agree to let us sell our models. for this, an important factor in sustaining us(me, combatace, hungarojet, tomcatz and many others) would be the market. it seems the market doesn't care about us as many of your answers are "No, no cent for good 3D models". it's a shame to happen like this, as many of you do pay for the new modules. i sincerely announce you that my future 3d models are not for free and the price will be somewhere around 100 euros(only the external shape), and 150(plus the cockpit).
  4. well, it's needed...and of course it's permitted...
  5. some updates for my models from above:
  6. yes i can help. try to clean the mesh after applying the proboolean. you can do this by removing unnecessary vertices and after you do that connect the remaining to create polygons with 4 edges or 5 edges at max..to do this you need to convert it again to "editable poly" after you apply the proboolean. another thing i do is to detach the polys around the area where you want to apply the proboolean and after that i clean the boolean polys and atach them again to the initial piece. this way you avoid the general shape deformation having the deformation only on a small part of it(so it won't be so visible). of course this means you have to apply the proboolean piece by piece.
  7. Ralfidude, i didn't know you, you are a real pilot? what jet do you fly?
  8. my bad! i am impatiently waiting for your module!
  9. good luck guys! i'm waiting for your mod!
  10. @HungaroJet-woooow, these screens look so great! fist time when i saw them i didn't realise it was my Viper. Anyway, as good as it looks this one, i'm now working at a brand new Viper, made only for FC3 or DCS, exported as .edm with shiny materials. i'm now at the stage of texturing it and i'm working at a cockpit too. I have a question, because you know better, how would a 4096X4096 texture be working in FC3? do you think it would crash the FPS?
  11. very nice Pepe, can't wait to see it finished!
  12. beautiful..how would a F-16 look next to this Hornet? i tell you..sexy! i'm waiting for the fc3 release, i bet you are going to have a HD F-16 till then,..maybe even mine :smilewink:
  13. i understand we won't have 3d improvements on some of the airctaft, like the su-27 and mig-29. what about specular maps for the existing models? i'm sure it would make them look better, specially the mig-29, which has a pretty good 3d shape..and a canopy glass too for the cockpit it would be awesome..
  14. well.. i must say that i very agree with you...:smilewink:
  15. well, with all the arguments i keep my opinion and will try to demonstrate this by making some vray renders of my F-16 model. I will use a bump map, a specular map, of course a diffuse and a very high resolution render to have the best results. and vray... to be more explicitly, i agree with somebody who said before that modeling is about accuracy and details but i think that accuracy is about talent and a good reference of the aircraft, on the other hand details are about hard working and a good reference. this is why i appreciate more the accuracy which is about talent(is like you're making a sculpture, not so many people can do) and less the details, these meaning the hard working and hard working we all can do... and to get to the point i see the same accuracy at Combatace's Su-27 with Der Peiper's, so both of them have the same appreciation from me because i strongly believe that Combatace can reach the same detail level once he has the motivation.. and to get you an idea have a look at this: http://www.military-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5196&highlight=galgot he is as good as Der Piper(i personally consider him better) and he has a lower level of details, with the rivets bumped and so on... you must think that it's harder to keep a lower poly number on the model but to put the polys in the right place to get the best suggestion. and please, this is my personal opinion as i said in my every post, i am not trying to make you think like me so keep the ugly words away.
  16. i believe that if someone takes 3GO's su-27 or combatace's su-27UB and makes some renders using for example, vray2 and max 2012, you get the same visual impression, this without modeling rivets, internal engine and cutting panels. put it in another order, take Der Piper's su-27 UB and import it in DCS, you won't have a better aspect than combatace's one, just because those modeled rivets are not viewable from a normal distance of 2-3 meters. So the result is that both models have the same accuracy but different number of polys.
  17. well, what can i say..we can't have all the same opinion. i do have and show respect for his work, but i think that the only special thing is the level of detail. but have a look on the site where he posts his works and you shall see that there are a lot of people who work as good as him, the same accuracy(in some cases even better). it matters alot from what point of view you see these renders. as a 3d artist, i've seen many projects like this, even better, and it doesn't impress me that much, but for a guy who is outside the domain it may look outstanding. but if you are curious, look on the 3d military gallery from military-meshes.com and you can find at least 10 guys who can do the job, even more..you only have to pay them high and you shall get the job done, at the same complexity.
  18. it's my opinion... special is the level of detail, but as i said before, he's probably paid very very well for this and he has of course a book of the aircraft, where to find every drawing for every part, not simply blueprints of 2 sheets having a general drawing.
  19. there's nothing special, that it can't be done by any other 3d artist(i mean a 3d artist, who can be named like this, not any beginner). personally, the only thing i appreciate at his works is the detail level. of course it's a hard job but if an attractive payment comes after this, and a very detailed drawing plans of the aircraft are given before, it can be done..
  20. i would model something like this only if i'd be paid a sum of about 500.000 dollars, at minimum. else, i wouldn't even think to start modeling a rivet...
  21. Good job Eagle Dynamics! I am very satisfied with the new things we find in FC3!
  22. it looks fine to me, both the shape and the blueprints of what i see on the internet http://www.freewebs.com/aiewebsite/Mirage-3-EA.jpg http://www.cavok-aviation-photos.net/Argentina/Mirage3EA.jpg
  23. the second pic has a very realistic lighting. That's the real life sunlight and for this reason i couldn't figure it out if it was real, for few seconds. I believe we need to modify the sunlight to yellow, because in DCS is white and human eye doesn't perceive it white.
  24. Thank you guys! @aaron, i'm not sure which part you are meaning. anyway, in few days i'll put some new renders: top, front and side views, this way we can figure it out.
