  1. Could you clarify please? Also: wonder if this is a case of the booster coil bypassing RH mag?
  2. Ok.. looked at the manual/diagrams, you can see clearly the boost coil HT outputs to the RH mag. And here from the manual: Page 204-205 Personally cant see how the booster coil could act or provide spark independent of L or R Magneto. The booster coil acts to "boost" RH magneto output to aid start.
  3. Thx Sobek, understandable. Hmm need link to the manual effte refers... :music_whistling:
  4. I have to agree with effte here, but I'd have to see a wiring diagram to be sure. AFAIK the booster coil will "boost" the output voltage for RH magneto. All the ignition switch really does is earth (neg -) itself to cut the spark when set to off, boosted or not the magneto is earthed hence no spark when off. If current implementation is correct the booster coil would technically be the 3rd magneto system?
  5. Ahh... yeah when you apply the brakes to hard, other wise NOT. There is no reason why a good pilot would allow this to happen.. ;)
  6. No. Land, rudder for taxi, done.
  7. Sheesh no need to bring COD bashing here...
  8. Nice takeoff hitman.. Well done :smilewink:
  9. Spot on  That's where practice & patience come to play, knowing what that beast is gonna wanna do. :)
  10. Yes that's normal. :music_whistling: Besides all the trim and tail wheel talk, as I stated, you need to anticipate the a/c lurching to the left and counter with appropriate opposite rudder, not "very light pressure". I watched your trk again and paid close attention to your rudder inputs and yes you did not apply enough counter rudder as it lurched left. Good practice is just to start on runway, run her up, don't touch the stick! & just keep her straight on the runway. When shes ready to fly u'll know. Point being concentrate on ur pedals, once you got that.... trim/tail wheel blah.. Don't matter so much :)
  11. I really is a matter of anticipating the darting left behavior and countering with the rudder pedal.. Does take practice. Re: Trim, this works for me. Aileron: 0 or 1 deg, not 5 deg. Elev: 2 deg Rudder: 3-5 deg, usually closer to 3 deg. I'm sure the control & trim surfaces will be tweaked throughout the beta's but I didn't notice any major difference so far.
  12. We all know it will happen, sooner or later. :P
  13. I use the thumb rotary on my X52 for RPM, works great. You need to set this in the Axis section, you have bound it to keys.
  14. Personally I find the engine is way too easy to start, way too consistent even in very cold weather.. I'm sure it's still WIP especially considering the work needed on the cooling system etc. I'd love to see/hear more coughing and splatter from those old carby engines. :D
  15. Wicked! never noticed.. lol Thanks! :D
  16. Dont take the numbers literally, it's a rough number in degrees.. What I mean to convey is that the rudder surface itself DOES move when trim is applied. :) Edit: When stationary on the ground.
  17. Hmm.. not true... At full rudder trim, the tab moves about 30 deg, rudder surface 15 & tail wheel 5 deg roughly. That's stationary on ground.
  18. Tried this but min speed seems default to 135 :(
  19. Firstly, loving the P-51 great job so far ED :) No bugs here but more a suggestion ;) Considering the time period of the P-51's day I think it would be great if the mission builder was able to set player/client TO on a grass strip. Not asking for a re-modeled airfield, just the ability to "take off from ramp" anywhere on the map (providing flat ground of course :smartass:). There are great ground infrastructure models already in DCS, be cool to setup a nice airfield out in the grassy plains :) Are there any plans to free this monster lawn mower? btw- Many areas on the map are suitable and it is no problem TO & land safely on grass. Tested OK :D :joystick: Cheers Jay
  20. Google ACTA. If passed technically you will be profiteering from ED products by doing this. There's alot of WW opposition for these laws. Hey well at least Beiber has to serve a sentence in prison for "profiteering" from other artists.
  21. Yup remember that one. :) Here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwlVGsrDPxQ&feature=related
  22. My top speed was 726 with rotors intact, they did mince shortly afterwards :P http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=763704&postcount=49 From memory I managed 686 with a "safe" pull out :) Orig thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=45673&highlight=400kph
  23. I would agree although we don't have any confirmation on what other units / aircraft ED will add to this DCS module. Can't imagine there will be very many and if there are how does it all tie in with a relatively modern combat sim? It all seems a bit bizarre to me, DCS P-51D? I can totally understand if ED said " any1 wanna pay $10 for a flyable P-51 as an add on for WH or BS2?" Cool! no probs, i'll pay happily but DCS P-51D is quite odd indeed. (& it ain't DCS unless there is a full environment to fly in!) ED's been busy with market research :D
  24. I not 100% certain but I would think the cyclic & collective are "hydraulic assisted" .. Meaning there is still direct linkage to the controls. Similar to "power steering" in a car (no such thing really it's power assisted) where you still have the mechanical rack & pinion but is hydraulically assisted.
  25. lol.. The old Chinese back door trick..
