Max number of players, OS windows 10 vs Server
Mike_Romeo replied to The Billder's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
The Growling Sidewinder (dedicated) server is running under windows 10 somewhat stable with 54 players. There is no real limit but ED themself recommend in their readme.txt (DCS/doc folder) file only a maximum of 16 players. ReadMe_EN.txt -

Some Questions Regarding the Jf-17's Radar
Mike_Romeo replied to DCS FIGHTER PILOT's topic in Bugs and Problems
Well F-16 and F/A-18 are using a 80's radar while the radar of the JF-17 is much newer. Also I belive that the Jeff radar dish is bigger than the ones of the Viper and Hornet. The Vipers nose is limited because of the air intake below it and the F-18 nose by the gun inside it. The JF-17 doesnt have those problems and so its nose provides more room for a bigger and much more recent radar. -
Man in the loop missiles already are in the game. The Slam(er) on the F/A-18 and and C-802AGK on the JF-17 for example which need to be guided at the end stage by the pilot into the target. Beside that, the ships damage model doesnt care about where you hit it. Its just a health bar.

No, work in progress unlikely. Its just ED is about 150 people big and not all of them are developers. Also the dynamic campaign will need for sure some new systems and AI improvements which doent exist yet. Give them time, they cant do fast progress.

Mike_Romeo replied to Mike_Romeo's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
Didnt help but renaming the dcs folder in the saved games folder did I tested what they did there and this fixed the issue as well. Thank you all for your help -
I cant open mission anymore in the ME. The "open file" is greyed out. This issues accured after I tried to open a very old mission (pre DCS 2.5.0) and a full repair and removing all mods didnt helped. I can create new mission but even in the ME, I can open any missions Here is the log dcs.log, I hope somebody can help me.

Why do most servers not allow voice chat?
Mike_Romeo replied to fitness88's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
Hey fitness, I am part of the Growling Sidewinder server team and we don't allow the voicechat because its causing massive lags and makes our server unplayable for our +50 players. -
Block 3 yes (but its not in service yet. Still testing) but we have a Block 1 in DCS with a block 2 refueling probe

DCS: Roadmap (unofficial - NO DISCUSSION HERE)
Mike_Romeo replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in DCS 2.9
All I wanted to say was that he is working on a La-7 and that the screenshots he posted on his facebook profile confirmes that. Seeing it in DCS and next to the I-16 makes it quite obviously that it will come for dcs. -

According to uboats08 (Closed beta tester and Deka Ironworks employee) the coordinates are not about the Bagram Airbase but about what is parked on that airbase Source: -
How to update to open beta Steam: 1. Open Steam and go to your library 2. Right click on DCS and select properties 3. Select the betas tab and chose "openbeta - Public beta versions" 4. Download the update. Standalone: 1. Go into the dcs\bin folder 2. Hold Lshift and right click somewhere in the folder 3. Click on "open PowerShell window here" 4. Type .\DCS_updater.exe update '@openbeta' and press enter 5. Download the update

Correct. Almost all bigger DCS servers are using the open beta version. No, you can update to the open beta by following this guide: How to update to open beta Steam: 1.
