  1. Do pilots use a mouse or a trackball? Or do they use their "hands"? What's the point of flying a simulator, if you're not going to simulate it. The hand controllers work great. I just don't want the pointer to switch to my helmet. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. Just got my G2, when my hand controllers go to sleep, the crosshair or pointer goes from my controller, to my headset. So wherever I'm looking, there's always a crosshsir in the center of my view. Any way to turn that off? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  4. As title says, they're not hitting their targets. The Sparrows don't even come close to hitting their targets. For the last couple of weeks I've noticed a serious drop in hit percentage of both missiles. I launch the Phoenix well within range as shown on the screen below the HUD, and I keep my nose pointed at the targets till they either go active or reach their estimated TTI after going active.   5. Discussion is fine, no problem with that at all. And obviously we all want to get better at flying this game. But since it's something we do for fun in our spare time, we can do without the BS in my opinion. This isn't the Navy, or the Iranian Air Force, so no need for someone to get all "you should be able to do everything with the current HUD" and "why can't you fly just instruments" just because someone asks a simple question. I'd like to get the HUD, because it was a part of Tomcat history. And I'd love to have the opportunity to try it out. I would like the D model too.   7. Well, as the OP, I just thought a version with the Sparrowhawk HUD would be cool so we could have another version of our favorite plane. Nothing to do with better or worse. Or needing it. I can do just fine with the current HUD. Sure, 68 or so planes got the HUD, we're also getting the Iran version which had 79 units delivered. That's ok? 79 is fine, but 68 is too few? Funny that. And it's ok to go from the superior B to the inferior A but we can't get an upgraded B? I was just curious if Heatblur could do it, and if they could, if they'd consider it since we're getting other versions. I'd happily pay an "upgrade fee" like we did for the A-10 tank killer.   11. This article reads of several B equipped squadrons from Oceana with Sparrowhawk HUD's. Since we're getting 3 different versions of the A model, I hope you will at least consider giving us a second B version with this HUD.   13. You fly with 68 degree wing sweep because Meg Ryan is watching. Then during the overhead break you sweep forward, because it looks cool, and you extend the airbrake because you don't want to keep her waiting when you touch down [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  21. It's a game. You can fly whatever you want, whenever you want. The "brakes" could temporarily stop working if you taxi with anti skid on. Make sure it's off on the boat. Easy way to check if your brakes are set up right is to look at your pedals and push them in and see if they move. You might need to invert them in the settings. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  22. You don't need mods. Just run through the startup a few times and you'll remember it. Oxygen, arm seat, talk to ground crew and Jester, right engine, left engine, talk to Jester when he's ready to set INS, radio, lighting, gauges, and that's really it. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  24. I'm doing mission 1, the carrier quals, but I must be missing something I'm not doing right. I take off, do the first trap with full radios, call inbound, see you at 10, wait for my turn, tomcat ball, land, get grade, take off, do 2 more traps without any radio, park in front of the island, but when I end mission it resets to mission 1.
