Get Flaming Cliffs 3 and fly the Flankers. They are simplified like the Su-25t but are a great intro into fighters and basic flight. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

They're so a pilot can literally drop his laundry off at home... "honey, yeah... that thud you heard? My laundry is on the lawn... check the shed will you? One of the pods went a little long.... byeeee" Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Flew her today. Position is perfect as always. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Oh God [emoji23] Looks like I'll be spending more time practicing landings. To be fair, I've only been flying DCS for a few weeks, and the Tomcat even less. Love her though. But she's not the easiest. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I don't know if the Hornet IFF is the same as the Viper, but in the Viper you press TMS left on the stick and it shows IFF on your MFD. Green is friend, red is enemy. Just make sure you turn the IFF master switch to on during cold starts..... [emoji849] lol. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

FC3 is much better value and to not fly the Flankers is letting yourself miss out on some wonderful planes. I enjoyed the Flankers much more than the Eagle. And the 33 can get you started in carrier operations before you buy the Hornet, Harrier, or Tomcat. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

You technically can, all you "need" is a keyboard and you can fly but it's not very enjoyable. Honestly a decent HOTAS is a must. It makes a big difference in immersion and capability as critical controls are right under your fingertips. Head tracking can be done cheaply, but VR is the way to go. You go from looking at a screen to being in the plane itself. I find the F-16 much more enjoyable than the A-10 personally so I'd choose that. FC3 has a low fidelity A-10 as well. If you find you're really enjoying flying, consider a HOTAS upgrade at the very least. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I've been using that with Sidewinders, AMRAAM works too? Never knew that thank you. Yeah I need to delve deeper into the manual. My head is still spinning from the Tomcat one lol. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Can you only lock on using the TMS switch and the left MFD, or does it have a search mode in the HUD that you can use? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Hoe laat vliegen jullie? Ik woon in Amerika maar vlieg s'middags hier, what avond in Holland is. 6 uur Hollandse tijd tot en met middernacht ofzo. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

DLC only works with the wings swept forward and flaps/gear are down. During combat the button that activates DLC, releases counter measures. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

F-14B Aviator, 38, In search of a wing to call home. Usually flying between noon and 8 PM Eastern weekdays, later on weekends. Flies exclusively in VR. Proficient in Carrier landings, even a successful 1 engine landing after taking fire and losing power to the starboard engine. Proficient in air to air and air to ground attacks, needs work with aerial refueling. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

It depends on the price. The Tomcat is BY FAR my favorite module so I would use the carrier all the time. Does it come with a campaign? Aircraft skins for corresponding wings on that particular carrier? Elevators work, so can I spawn in the hanger, get pushed onto the lift and taken to the flight deck? Additional options like the aforementioned carrier turning into the wind when I report inbound? If all that, especially a campaign, gets added, I would be willing to pay more than if it was just a visual thing. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Can you declare an emergency like a non operating tail hook, and have the crew set up the net across the deck? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Ah cool ty [emoji16] Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Same here. I'll be stopped on the deck and he'll be going on and on about boltering [emoji849] Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Then what radar mode are we in to allow multiple Phoenix's fired at multiple targets? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I understand it's an A2G aircraft, but I can't even see the artificial horizon, heading indicator, or gun reticle. Those are all out of view above the HUD. That can't be correct. I understand that in an A2A HUD the artificial horizon would be lower in the HUD than in an A2G HUD, but those things should at least be visible. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

So I lowered the seat, which brought the HUD in line, but now it feels like I'm sitting too deep in the cockpit. I have to look waaaaay up there to my rearview mirrors. It seems like the standard seating position is good, but the whole dash and HUD itself needs to be raised up. On all my other modules the standard seating position is perfect. Here I feel like the HUD is at chest height rather than head height. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I will try that thank you! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Going through startup tutorial, when it comes time to press the ENT button, it's not responding. Tried with Rift controllers and key binding it to a switch. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Apologies if this has been answered before. I just got the A-10c with the winter sale and while going through the startup and takeoff tutorial, I noticed my seating position seems good, but I can't see right out of the HUD. I have to duck down to see what I'm assuming is the gun reticle, the dotted circle, and my heading indicator. If I adjust my camera down, I feel like my head is on the seat cushion and everything else is off. Edit: I fly with the Rift S. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

I figured out today that the Warthog HOTAS throttle levers in the off detent considers that a button. I mapped my Tomcat throttle so I don't have to "grab" it with my Rift S controller but as soon as I move the lever forward, it registers that and moves the throttle in the plane to idle. I didn't get around to trying it, but I'm hoping the Viper registers the same. Right now I have it mapped to a switch but I'd like to remap it to the off detent of the lever itself. Feature request: Non linear option for non ffb sticks

If you want, we can hop online into a server and fly around. I can fly behind you and see what you're doing, we can compare control settings in real time over voice, and we can practice landing on a carrier and on a runway. And maybe some formation flying. Which maps do you have? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
