  1. I have X52 Pro and have been using for a few years with DCS, IL2, CLOD, FSX, BMS. No problem with it and the MadCatz configuration software works fine. I would likely buy another if needed given its general overall use and great feel. There are also many good profiles out there developed by others for use in various sims.
  2. Have not flow this version yet but flow old Republic campaign years ago. Though likely it is basically the same as the original correct? All in all, would be great to see some new stand alone/scripted campaigns similar to the glory days back when we only had BS. I remember ED even promoted campaign contests for folks to create exciting, immersive, and satisfying campaigns. In the end the old Vergeev Group Campaign was my all time favorite, and would be great to see it not replayed, but rather a new chapter in DCS World 2+ ?!
  3. Yea, if one day there is an Edge map featuring an urban combat centerpiece, indeed, the civilian models would require a reactionary response. Ironically, in Vegas, likely if combat did erupt there in some alternative universe, likely many of the civilian population actually may not react/know what is going on (especially the roof top pool babes)! :smilewink:
  4. Perhaps a start would simply be a few current object updates to include people? Good candidates could be a few parked cars models, those cafe tables we see peppered throughout the city, and that one big hotel rooftop pool. The hotel roof top pool should have at least some eye candy for the peeping helo driver! :)
  5. Flying around low and slow over Vegas is awesome and really sets the bar for modern flight sims, even beyond the combat arena! The civilian traffic is top notch for a bustling major metro area and the feeling of a ton of life below is really nice. However...., where are the people? Beyond complex animations similar to Orbx PeopleFlow, perhaps something along the line of object enhancement. For example one of the major hotels feature a rooftop swimming pool, though there are no bikini clad loungers. Also, I have seen many outdoor cafe tables where the seats are empty. Perhaps the model could be duplicated and enhanced to have a few people sitting around the table? Additionally, parked cars. Perhaps a few models could be updated/duplicated to feature a person standing next to car or interacting with car in some fashion. Perhaps, long term, civilian foot traffic along pedestrian walkways, etc.. Indeed, DCS is a combat simulation at heart; however, NTTR and the presentation of Vegas has really opened opportunities for enhancing a more robust civilian flow/feel beyond vehicles on the road/highways and parking garages/lots. As I explored the city from the Blackshark, it seems that only the "people" were missing. A wishlist enhancement for future urban renderings.
  6. Yes left as default. You can also do this in windows (how I do it). Also run windowed and set desktop background as black and auto hide desktop toolbar. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  7. Set left monitor as your default monitor and in game set your width to the total resolution across the three screens. Set your height based on the height of your three screens. Ideally the height should match across all three. If they don't you can use Windows to get them matching. Of course that may impact your width but you simply set that accordingly in game. 8. Weekend evenings exploring NTTR in the Blackshark. Really well done and some cool sights low and slow in the shark. Here are a few snapped during the trip. First shot is of a lone seagull flying around near Hoover Dam. Also spotted two circling low on the down side of the dam. Here is a roof top parking garage stop to see if I could actually land without hitting any cars. Close, but clear! Interestingly, on the past few nights of exploration, one thing that would love to see in this type of urban enviro is citizens. They do not necessarily need to be animated, however, i did see a few spots were some model updates to include people would be cool such as some of the outdoor cafe tables, perhaps standing next to some car models, maybe a few lounging around that one hotel roof top swimming pool, etc.. Basically, some people to go with all the hustle and bustle traffic around Vegas. All in all though, looks great and really sets the bar with the level of detail and flight experience in NTTR!
  9. i found it easy, simply install BS1. do not even need to run it. once installed, then simply run the World2 install and it will work. Finally, uninstall BS1. All under 5 min effort.
  10. Yea, I have never really had a problem with vista. I have most of the "stuff" off and run Vista with a UI similar to XP for a clean functional interface. All in all, it has been running well for everything, including all my sim stuff. I will likely upgrade next year with a new SSD OS drive with Win7, but staying away from Win10 at this time. ~S~ wind
  11. Works fine. no difference in experience from 1.5. Great FPS thus far, though i have not explored much yet in 2.0.
  12. I see the specs for DCS World2 lists Windows 7 or greater OS. Actually, Vista works too, thus recommend including it in the listing.
  13. More well crafted campaigns. Scripted or otherwise. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  14. Yea, I too have purchased replacement battery and charging station from Logitech direct, and still problems. The charging issue, per online research stems from the contacts breaking from use of the usb plugin on the headset. Users resolve by some fine soldering techniques, but overall the consensus is poor manufacturing. Great, your headset has had no problems thus far, perhaps because it is new. Hopefully it will last for you and be trouble free. Don't get me wrong, when it works, its a great headset and the sound is top notch, but the cutouts and poor charging for my right now, has moved me on to the G933 which hopefully (per current reviews) notes fixes to the issues with the G930.
  15. I have a g933 on order (should ship in Nov). Currently have the g930 and while it is a nice headset and sounds great, it has a frequent cut out problem that seems like a central issue suffered by many who have the headset. There is also a problem with the usb charging mount on the headset that goes bad after a while. Basically, with mine, I use an alternative wire for charging, but it does not seem to do a proper charge. All in all, recommend avoiding the g930 now that it is primarily sold "refurbished" only. Reports are that the G933 has resolved the problems that existed with the G930...hopefully?! Recommend doing some Google searches on the G930 with keywords noting connection dropouts and charging issues. There is a wealth of content out there along with some home grown fixes (at least for the charging defect).
  16. Yea, I remember flying the Republic original campaign years ago! I believe there was some mission where u had to do a really fast startup to avoid getting blown up on the tarmac by an invading force?! All in all, was a fun campaign back then, and hopefully repeat now in 1.5! ~S~ wind

  18. Update to this thread, found that actually SoftTH is not needed for DCS, at least for my triple head configuration. Someone noted that by simply setting the full screen space resolution and setting the left monitor as main, DCS shows nicely for all when in the pit...works! Thus, with that aspect no longer an issue, my second question is Vista. Min specs for v1.5 note Windows 7, but wondering if 1.5/2.0 will work with Vista running DX11? I am hesitant to upgrade as I do not want to pork my 1.2 install, but if anyone else has attempted 1.5 Vista with success, please tell. ~S~ wind
  19. Hah, answered my own softTH question with a quick follow up search, and sounds like the answer is No, at least until release of SoftTH3 if/when it comes out. Oh well, guess will have to stick with 1.2 for a while longer. ~S~ wind
  20. hello all, I have not yet moved to 1.5 though with the all buzz and images, I am quite tempted! However, one key question is: will SoftTH work in 1.5 or has anyone been successful using softTH in 1.5? I have a triple head setup with varied size resolutions thus require softTH to make it all come together. I am also running Vista Ultimate though do have DX11, thus that would be another question if anyone is running 1.5 with Vista (even though I believe DCS World (1.5/2) specs note minimum of Win7?). All in all, I am nearing the end of a successful campaign in the Ka50, but once completed, i was thinking of moving up from 1.2+ to 1.5. However, want to see if anyone has experience with my two key requirements at this time... 1) SoftTH 2) Windows Vista Ultimate ~S~ wind
  21. there is a video out there of a really simple/ingenious way to address this issue. I did it and it works great. Basically all u need is a piece of panel board, some duct table and a keyhole or jigsaw. Basically cut a small rectangular hole in the board for where the front chair caster wheel will sit. Measure for your comfortable leg length to the pedals while sitting in chair. Once u have the hole cut, duct tape the pedals to the board. That is it! Simply roll the chair onto the board fitting the front wheel into the little hole cut and your chair will not move while pushing pedals. Works great, as I use it with my pedals and very simple to set up! found video: ~S~ wind
  22. Anywhere out there to find pre-built X-52 Pro profiles for FC3 aircraft including the new Su-27? Hoping to find/learn from an existing profile as compared to creating new. ~S~ wind
  23. Received the ED email newsletter noting that the Su-27 is available as a free update for FC3 owners. However, when I download the Su-27 module and attempt to install, it notes that the version of the download is older than current World install (updated today via auto updater). Thus my question is: Is the DCS 1.2.11 update available today, automatically include the Su-27 free for FC3 owners? Aka, no need to download the Su-27 DCS module and install separately. Note, perhaps this statement could be clarified: "Note: the aircraft model is identical to the Flaming Cliffs 3 module. Owners of FC3 do not need to purchase." to "Note: the aircraft model is identical to the Flaming Cliffs 3 module. Owners of FC3 do not need to purchase and/or download."
  24. Back in the "old DCS days" didn't ED run contests for creating the campaigns? The format was the winning/top campaign designers were awarded prizes. +1 for paid campaigns. The blackshark VG paid campaign was awesome back when it was released! All in all, I have had DCS for quite some time, but do not fly it much these days simply due to the lack of missions/campaigns from the community. Back in the old DCS days it seemed like campaign xmas near weekly with new fun offerings released.
  25. Quick request, for someone who has DSR listing in their Nvidia Control Panel, can you post your Nvidia Control Panel version number? Mine currently reads: v8.0.790.0 I do not see the DSR listing, even though I am at driver 344.48 Curious, if perhaps the CP requires an update? UPDATE: I think I know what my issue is: I am running Vista 64 Ultimate. Appears DSR is only function in Win 7+ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/784180/geforce-drivers/system-configurations-currently-supporting-dsr-as-of-driver-344-48/
