Ok, something is fishy here. Was playing an mission the other night whit heavy rain, thunderstorms, wind it was all in there. (dynamic weather) Normally, i get around 27 to 30 fps capped in this mission. Whit this weather it didn't go above 11 fps, 9 showing in the attached screenshot. Still, the CPU highest core load didn't go above 30% and the GPU load didn't get past 50% orso. Any ideas? Also see attached screenshot. System Specs; W8 64 Hasswel 4770 16 GB Kingston HyperX Anniversary RAM (cause i liked the silver color:D) AMD Saphire 6950 2GB flex edition GPU Samsung 128GB Pro SSD (840 serie) for windows Samsung 256GB Evo SSD (840 serie) for games System was first assembled on 21-sep-2013.

GFX card price drops
159th_Falcon replied to 159th_Falcon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Correct, certain 7*** series chips should even be compatible whit the new Mantle technology. Better research it well though before buying an card for it. -
Two more from the 159th server, also some things we have been noticing; Client crashes when assigning a target to mortar units Server seems to crash whit Combined Arms enabled when a client orders a large number of ground units to move. (typically all available in the mission) Then a question, i used to be able to see in the logs which player fired what weapon from what aircraft and what he hit. This was great when someone was suspected of using cheats like R-77 on SU-33. Or Aim-120 on KA-50's. Though, as of a couple weeks, i am unsuccessful in finding this information in any of the logs. Anyone has an idea in what log file it should be and why it may not be in there? 1.2.6 U2 crash 6.rar 1.2.6 U2 crash 5.rar

Another one from the 159th server; ***EDIT*** added crash #4 1.2.6 U2 crash 3.rar 1.2.6 U2 crash 4.rar
-
Another crash from the 159th server, see attached. 1.2.6 U2 crash 2.rar

Without accurate data from a reliable source to back things up, any statement on simulation accuracy is a moot point.
-
On that note, here's an 159th server crash from today during a squad flight. I was working, so no idea what was going on in the server at the time of the crash. 1.2.6 U2 crash 1.rar

SLI GTX 680 4gb Cards worth it?
159th_Falcon replied to Injerin's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you already have two, just try and find out. If it has any ill effects, just remove the 2nd card again. (let us know the results please, always interesting stuff.) -
Yep, got a solution, got a X52Pro as well. I assume you use the slider and rotary's in 2 bands. Each whit a control input assigned. If so, then this means that wherever you put the slider/rotary, you will always have it on an input. Instead, add an 3th band in the middle, which is empty. That way you can set the rotary/slider to the middle band, which has no input assigned. Problem solved.

GFX card price drops
159th_Falcon replied to 159th_Falcon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Like this one? http://uk.hardware.info/productinfo/162787/asus-matrix-hd7970-p-3gd5#tab:prices 333 pounds on 19th of august, today its 259 pounds in the cheapest shop. And that's not even the cheapest one available at the moment. -
If you were in the market for a new GFX card, keep an eye on prices in the coming 2 weeks orso. AMD just introduced some new cards, and a new way of naming there cards. As a result certain carts have dropped about 40% in price. Ofcourse, Nvidea can't just sit on the side and do nothing, so those prices have come down already as well. Not as much though. Then Nvidea has made a press release they are about to release some new cards, no eta but good for competiton. http://uk.hardware.info/news/37346/new-nvidia-graphics-cards-later-this-month And the new top model of AMD is also around the corner, so when it gets introduced xdays from now, expect more price drops. Cards to watch for at the moment are; AMD 7*** series notably, 7950, 7990, 7970. Nvidea 6** and 7** series notably, 650 TI Boost, 760, 770 Just an FYI, hope someone can take advantage of it. Would like that very much. Especially if it meant playing cockpit sounds trough speaker but headset sounds well, trough your headset.

Awesome, so who's volunteering to lead a project on modelling planet earth?:D Seriously though, that's some great news. Wonder what other surprises EDGE has in store for us.
-
Will do, don't seem to have to many server crashes any more though.
-
Well then, i guess we can call this one;
-
Possibly the file got corrupted? Have you tried running a repair?
-
Not really, i logged each core separately, so there are 4 CPU load graphs. Two cores show 30 to 40% load and the other two cores show 2 to 7 % load. Same thing can be going on on your system. But can't say for sure if you don't log each core. Also, i need to be able see which line is what. (ie core1, core2, core3, core4, GPU load) Could you try and make a similar screenshot to the one i made?
-
Yep, would be a nice addition to Farps
-
You should get an image similar to this; GPU load is averaging 80 to 90 % CPU load is only averaging ~30% Clearly, in my case the graphics card is the bottleneck whit my current settings. The reason my GPU is not loaded 100% is that i limited the FPS to 30.
-
open the program, View, Show Plot. Right click in the graph to set the time period, 30 mins should do for this purpose. Then in the main window, where you have all CPU clocks, temps load etc etc click the tick boxes to the left of them to show up in the graph. Hope this helps. ps, if you right click in the plot window, and select stacked axis, it splits the window into two different graphs. One for temps and one for Load. (if you also have clocks selected you also get a separate graph for all clocks, etc etc )

When I move my left stick two red switches appear...
159th_Falcon replied to Skulleader's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just checked, got the red button as well. -
Please don't, he's already VERY low on RAM. (pre-loading causes even more RAM usage) I would also suggest getting openhardwaremonitor Configure it to log your processor load (per core) and GPU load and play the game for a bit. If you see any CPU core close to 100% performance all the time and GPU load well below it. Not much you can do besides upgrading your CPU. If you see your GPU close to 100% performance all the time and highest CPU load on any core well below 100% reduce your graphics settings. (don't forget the settings in your GPU's drivers as well, can make a huge difference) ***EDIT*** Yep, or if building a new system i would even suggest 16GB. not that much more expensive and when playing DCS my systems comes awfully close to using 8 GB of RAM. Also, since your system seems to be using the pagefile a lot, you could benefit from an SSD to reduce micro stutters. Which are caused by loading data from your HD into memory. (i believe) Then again, getting 8 GB of memory might solve that also.

Didn't notice it either, but have been flying co-pilot alot to try the Doppler system -
159th server seems more stable. Then again, people may not have been playing on it as much. @ sithspawn, anyway we can open the .dmp files ourselves?
