  1. No its not, then again, its each to there own i suppose. Were not flying for a company here for which we have to comply whit there operational procedures. (or a military for that matter) But really, get used to the trimmer and it will benefit you greatly. Especially in combat situations. @ seikdell, i'm pretty sure the real KA-50 has pedal switches to, no idea about the one in the sim though. No need for dials if you can do the same whit a single button, as i said earlier, its well worth it getting familiar whit the trimmer. @ hannibal, what others tips would you like? There's loads more things to keep in mind but there all bound to set off another endless discussion about one thing or another. So better pic your subject carefully.:D
  2. Am i the only one hoping that this is in preparation to future Combined Arms functionality?:music_whistling:
  3. Its better to learn what the "ap" is and does and what the "sas" is and does and use the systems accordingly. The Auto Pilot is never on in the KA-50 unless you turn it on. The SAS should always be on, unless system damages prevent this ofcourse. Also, i find that the MI-8 and KA-50 fly very similarly whit regards to the SAS, and the need to trim.
  4. Is there a template somewhere that people from the community can use for this purpose?
  5. Mind you, video is from 2011. Wags already stated this year that the KA-52 will not be released. Certainly not anytime soon. (well, he said they won't be making a DCS KA-52, result is the same though) Also note that the same most likely apply's to the SU-35.
  6. Your joking right, not one pilot in the sane world would calculate a flight plan keeping fuel leakage in mind. The moment he becomes aware of any leak he will land at the soonest opportunity. In combat, that will mean aborting the mission 99% of the times, if not more. In my view, to get good realistic missions we need a map at least the size of our current map. But fully modeled, including the Western Part of the map and the Southern part (Turkey) As well as the Northern part that is currently completely flat.
  7. Hope your patient, i pmed him on 10-13, still waiting.
  8. No it does not, it only means there exists an representative 3d model of ka52 that you can steer around in a program that seems to use EDGE.
  9. Really, sounds kinda wierd to me. You have missiles designed to take out radars, but for whatever reason they can't take out EWR???? How come?, got me curious.
  10. Cause they could, and it also helps preventing people downloading and playing the game for free. Not sure how that exactly works, but i think that's the reason.
  11. Actually, it's not all that big when you think about it. Yes, many missions have only a couple minutes flying to the target area. But if you want it realistic, and give CAP and SAM defenses some meaning other then air-quake, you need longer flight to target. Something like 150 to 200 km, which would still be on the short side. So that means that bases need to be about 350 - 400 km apart, possible on current map but not much room to spare. Back on topic, i'd love to fly the Vulcan. Just for the looks of it if nothing else.
  12. Doubt Nevada will be the only thing EDGE gets to render.
  13. Let me guess, AMD 69xx series video carts?
  14. +1, one of the most useful user moddable files. And it hardly has any documentation.
  15. Not really giving up as such. Just busy IRL. Might buy my first house in the weeks to come. Or not, still undecided. In the meantime, not a lot of time for gaming, let alone troubleshooting.
  16. +1 Rep to you SkateZilla, that was an VERY informative post and well written at that to.
  17. :music_whistling: Something whit "famous" and "words" comes to mind....... But yeah, would love ED to actually make this usable in MP.
  18. Its a Helicopter, Helicopters vibrate. Perfectly normal and nothing special going on. The helicopter in the video actually seems to fly pretty smooth. Hard to judge from a video though.
  19. How do you know? I have been trying to find this kind of information in the logs but its not shown anymore. At least not in the logs in the /savedgames/dcs/logs folder?
  20. You happen to have any logs? System specs? Logs are found in; C:/users/username/savedgames/dcs/logs
  21. For most weapons you need to "press and hold" the weapon release button for them to fire. The canon is the only exception to this i believe. Also, for bombs, rockets and A-G missiles you need to be in Air to Ground mode (7). You also need to be in range, and have LA, Launch Authorized cue on the HUD. Could try using the Launch Override though. From memory key combination is either; Lshift W Lalt W Lctrl W And then try firing weapons.
  22. Regarding EDGE, secretly hoping for December. So they can sell Nevada for the Xmas hype. But given the fact that Wags hasn't really updated whit much concrete info and facts, i'm afraid its more like February at the earliest. Saying that, isn't he due to post a video of EDGE any time now? Yep, it is; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1917669&postcount=8 Well, assuming all is well. Anyone woke him up yet and gave him a good breakfast?:D Anyway, when that video is posted, we will know a little bit more. Maybe even a time frame. Another thing that is holding me from buying a GFX card are the prices. You can spend 400 bucks and still have a mid range card that performs Meh in DCS.
  23. 159th_Falcon

    Sales??

    Well that, or;
  24. Lol, nice advertisement video; "Large Visibility Distance" 40 km:megalol: Or, "Supersonic Camera Speed" Whatever that may mean. For the rest a lot of vague terms and things we already have now. Like a day/night cycle. Anyone ever hearth of "double precision" co-ordinates? Yes it looks stunning up close, and that's where the dream stops and the nightmare starts. BTW, in DCS you can navigate by means of the stars in the sky above if you know how to. Didn't even see stars in the promo video that was linked. Really, ED's game engine is much more capable then most people realize. Its just not all that visual.
