Not sure as to what has happened exactly preventing you to fire. But i believe that Lalt W enables Launch Override Enables you to fire any weapon whenever you press the trigger. Regardless of whether your in launch parameters or not. So next time, try using that one. Doubt guided missiles will still work though.

I know it is not cool to ask..but

What i would like to see; Main Rotor Rotating scissor. You can hear it at the moment but its not physically modelled, its a shame really. If you have no idea what i'm talking about; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=110134&page=2 post number 20 "plate carrier assembly" same part, different name. Cockpit cooling fan. Improved damage model. -
Mi-8 and guns/grenades - how to make 'em work?
159th_Falcon replied to Filament's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
They are just there for display purposes. No idea really, seems like suicide to me to try dropping bombs from a helicopter......... Anyone can tell me when you would want a helicopter deliviring bombs instead of an plane???? Can't imagine anything. -
mi-8+Huey co-op mission.

Not sure what you mean, but try pressing Rctrl and Enter -
Not yet, it will come. I'm pretty sure of it. So far the module is pretty awesome, just a couple small things missing; Cockpit Cooling Fan Main Rotor Rotating Scissor (the part you hear going wish wish wish wish but can't see.) And ofcourse things that were already announced to be still very much a work in progress, like the damage model.

About the question if you can compare DCS whit real helicopter lessons. NO, you cant. Plain and simple. This doesn't mean though that DCS is useless in aiding you to learn fly a real helicopter. For example, all the principles and dynamics stay the same. Vortex Ring Stall remains something to be very cautious off, which your better off discovering in a sim. You can also learn about things like pilot induced oscillation in DCS. And how to get out of it. And then there's things like optimum climb speeds and auto-rotation speeds. And why they are important. So overall, i think DCS can be a great aid in learning to fly a real helicopter. But it certainly can't replace real hands on flying hrs. ***EDIT*** To extent on that, make sure to buy ALL modules you ever buy for DCS world on the same account. This is because you need to log in to a master server when playing multiplayer. Meaning that if you have the Huey on account A and the Hip on account B you would need to exit the game server. Log out of the master server and log in again using the other account whenever you want to switch airframes. So get everything on the same account. Makes life easier.

Is this a Stick Trimming Bug?
159th_Falcon replied to Snacko's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Because that is the rough position for the cyclic to keep an stable Hover. If you disable the control helper, the game won't anticipate the hover, and leave the controls centered. Just ignore it, and try to fly, the trimmer should work in the sense that once your flying, and you trim it, the cyclic should stay in that position. Keep in mind though that there may be corrections carried out by the control helper so it may not be 100% accurate. -

:megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol::megalol: Seriously gentleman, pull your act together and stop wining like little kids in a candy museum. Its a well known fact that Eagle Dynamics has several significant sales in any given year. And don't worry, it will be available for the regular price again after the sale. And on sale again after that And regular price after that again. And so on and so fort, nothing new here. Well, guess its time to enjoy the show again; :drink: -
No idea if its still of use. But here's some crash files of our server last crash. There were a couple .dll files involved i didn't see before, hence i'm posting them. See attachment. 1.2.6 crash 4.zip

Server crash and Runtime error, Plz read before posting.
159th_Falcon replied to Cougar's topic in Game Crash
Nice find, though, does using the rearm menu also count as an radio function? Cause i never use ingame ATC or anything like that but get the same crashes. (multiplayer) -
Actually, if you rearm without touching the fuel slider, you will get some amount of fuel. Not sure how much but enough for over 30 mins of flying. (so that's longer then it takes DCS to crash on you)
-
Is that a cryptic way of saying you have a couple of likely culprits that you expect to cause the majority of the crashes?:music_whistling: And please try to let us know how it went, keeping NDA in mind ofcourse.

Love the new SU-33 model. And that wake of the AK is very nice to. Good to see the naval side of DCS getting some much needed love.

Files from the saved games/dcs/logs folder that can be usefull are; DCS.log DCS-datestamp-timesamp.CRASH any other files in that folders whit the same date/time stamp as above files. (could be a couple minutes off, but not to much) Other things that can help are info like; Mission you were playing, attach if possible Aircraft you were flying What you were doing at moment of crash Was anything specific happening in the mission that you know of. for example, a unit exploding a group being triggered/activated/deactivated etc also have a look at this thread; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88164 Not everything will always be useful, but gives an idea on what could be. -
Just for info, this is the Servman bantable format. }, [26] = { comment = "", active = , ucid = "", ipaddrs = "", names = "" }, Comment is just for administration so we can see later who band the person Active is if the ban is active or not, can be set true or false ucid = is a unique code for all players generated by DCS World, this is used to enforce the ban ipaddrs is also used to enforce the ban names is the name (or names if more then one) that this user used, names are not used for enforcement of kicks/bans Not quite sure how the kicks work though. Ill go ahead and discuss whit the squad if we want to run our server completely vanilla for testing. Ill also ask if its ok to give one of the ED testers remote acces trough TeamViewer if that helps. ***EDIT*** Ok everyone, found another source of potential usefull information; In start menu type Event Viewer In event viewer go to, windows logs\applications look for mainly the application errors. (red symbol whit white exclamation mark in it) This lists some different crash causes then the .crash files in the dcs log like; Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96f Faulting module name: AsyncNet.dll, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96a Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000001f57b Faulting process id: 0xe44 Faulting application start time: 0x01cea99d91a2133d Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\AsyncNet.dll Report Id: cfe161c9-1593-11e3-9cd1-001f16fbb7c5 Faulting application name: dcs.exe, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96f Faulting module name: AsyncNet.dll, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96a Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000000000001f57b Faulting process id: 0xdd8 Faulting application start time: 0x01cea9b4f546360b Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\dcs.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\AsyncNet.dll Report Id: 936ba463-15b2-11e3-9cd1-001f16fbb7c5 Faulting application name: dcs.exe, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96f Faulting module name: a10_protect.dll, version: 5.70.46.4, time stamp: 0x5225b4e6 Exception code: 0x40000015 Fault offset: 0x000000000002e2ee Faulting process id: 0xb6c Faulting application start time: 0x01cea9ced4d835b5 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\dcs.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\mods\aircrafts\A-10C\bin\a10_protect.dll Report Id: b5a3b1c2-1616-11e3-9cd1-001f16fbb7c5 Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96f Faulting module name: edCore.dll, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x521633e0 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000001570 Faulting process id: 0x588 Faulting application start time: 0x01ceaa23dd7b7fcb Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\edCore.dll Report Id: 893b894a-162f-11e3-9cd1-001f16fbb7c5 Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96f Faulting module name: a10_protect.dll, version: 5.70.46.4, time stamp: 0x5225b4e6 Exception code: 0x40000015 Fault offset: 0x000000000002e2ee Faulting process id: 0xfb4 Faulting application start time: 0x01ceaa414c21a422 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\mods\aircrafts\A-10C\bin\a10_protect.dll Report Id: abf3d70f-167a-11e3-9cd1-001f16fbb7c5 Faulting application name: DCS.exe, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x5225b96f Faulting module name: ZweiBlau.dll, version: 1.2.6.17746, time stamp: 0x520e4b0b Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000000000030005 Faulting process id: 0xfb4 Faulting application start time: 0x01ceaa414c21a422 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\ZweiBlau.dll Report Id: b81b700f-167a-11e3-9cd1-001f16fbb7c5You can easily save the logs by selecting them, (can select multiple at once), right click and then Save Selected Events Then put it in a .rar or .zip file and attach to your post to view them in event viewer open it, and on the RH side select "open Saved Log" more logs attached to this post as eventviewer files. So some more .dll files causing issues are; edCore.dll a10_protect.dll AsyncNet.dll eventviewer1.rar

Nope, gotta try and find out what is triggering it. And if its anything specific. Anyway, just noticed an other, different crash on our squad server. Runtime error pointing to the dcs.exe Unfortunately no logs in the DCS logs folder. Are windows logs any good and where do i find them?

Title says it all really. Is there an template available yet for making custom MI-8 skins? If not, any idea on when there will be one available?
-
Really, guess you have't seen me learning to try and fly the Huey then.:joystick:

Did you install any mods? I was using a mod for the mission editor which caused me to be unable to even load the game.

Ah right, actually quite logical now you mention it. Here's a zip file containing all files relevant to the crash i could think of. ***EDIT*** temp removed attachment ***EDIT*** attachment restored 1.2.6 crash 1.zip

What i posted is the .crash file SiThSpAwN Server is running Servman and has squad skins installed. Where two people flying, one the MI-8 other not sure Mission has pretty much every flyable in it as client and CA is enabled. Mission also makes use of a script to load and unload troops in the Huey. Can get you the trackfile if its useful.
