  1. Save half a minute of loading on a 1 hour+ mission? ;) Might as well get a dedicated SSD then :)
  2. That's due to the DACL on the Program Files folder, requiring privilige elevation for write operations in the Program Files directory (unless you change the default DACL). This should only be required during installation of an application as volatile user data should be stored in the OS' user profile, which is the case with DCS-A10. Hence DCS-A10 can be installed in the Program Files directory without having to face UAC every time you use it. DCS-BS is a different story though. It doesn't use the OS' user profile. I had to change the DACL on the folder to fix this issue. Much better than running a "game" with administrator priviliges.
  3. Why not in the Program Files directory?
  4. I don't think this will affect performance that much. Once the data is cached in RAM, it's meaningless anyway (provided there is sufficient RAM available).
  5. It's a bit bigger than the Ka-50's ... nano-gun ;)
  6. Have the girlfriend "anchor" in the kitchen ;)
  7. According to that same (official) webpage, the Ka-50 has 2 crew members :prop:
  8. Great, now I won't go blind trying to read those tiny tooltips ;) Tooltip size and lifetime should have been included in DCS in the first place though ...
  9. Would these technical issues explain why some threads have recently disappeared? (e.g. thread 80014)
  10. It would make more sense to have a base product "DCS engine" with pluggable modules (Ka-50, A10C) for which you'd activate a license in order to use them. Fixes and improvements in shared features (e.g. mission editor, AI ...) would then apply to all modules. Now we basically have separate products which are maintained separately.
  11. In case it is financially feasible: add RAM and reinstall your PC with 64-bit Windows (and 64-bit DCS ;) )
  12. I believe you need 1.1.0.8 and 1.1.0.9.
  13. I like this one: Request CSAR.wav
  14. Interesting finding. I'll keep looking for this "bug" to confirm if it's related to the immortal setting.
  15. All screenshots were taken in single player. (mostly in the Georgian Hammer campaign) I've not been able to recreate the exact situation, yet. For now you can enjoy a track of a related issue: Aircraft gets hit with AIM-9 during takeoff and stops dead in its tracks. No visible damage and afterburner keeps going ... AIM9-1.trk
  16. Oh my, it happened again ;)
  17. I'll make a track next time, shouldn't take too long before it happens again ;) I've attached some screenshots of an Su-24 that I shot while it was landing. After getting hit, the Su-24 went through the surface (see smoke effects), continuing into the sea. The last screenshot shows another AI aircraft that went "underground". Pay attention to the indicated altitude of the aircraft, it's negative ...
  18. I'm not sure if this has been reported, but I've seen it happen quite often. When an aircraft is on the ground (stationary, taxiing, landing ...) it cannot be destroyed, no matter how many times you hit it. See attached screenshots. Edit: to clarify my original wording, the issue does not happen all the time, but it does occur with some frequency
  19. "actual objects" also "collide" (doesn't seem to damage the objects though ...)
  20. You mean like this?
  21. Coordinates were in the screenshots ;-)
  22. Did you happen to press the Scroll Lock key?
  23. Pah, already posted it ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=78356
  24. I haven't tried it myself since 1.1.0.9 but the AI still has some issues here. Often the AI will hit the tanker and eject, which isn't really helpful to your mission's success ;-) One time I saw an AI jettison his munition and eject while his wingman was refueling. His aircraft was nowhere near the tanker though ...... (see attached screenshot)
