  1. Thanks for the write-up! Is there a difference in the quality of head tracking? Also, by no performance impact do you mean it stayed the same or improved even if slightly?
  2. That's excellent news, best of luck in the final testing phase!
  3. A dash 5 with MICAs would make things more interesting, for sure. If we put the Hornet and Mirage 2000 with contemporary equipment, Mike+Sparrow vs. Magic/Super 530D, I'd put my money on the Mirage both in BVR and WVR. Swap the Sparrow for the AMRAAM and the Hornet obviously takes the cake in BVR, but without the AIM-9X the Mirage might be too much for the Hornet up close and personal.
  4. Jaw-dropping stuff, well done!
  5. Across most missions the voice overs are rushed through. Audio files do not wait for the previous one to finish before playing, so if a trigger plays five audio files, only the last one will be heard. I'm currently stuck in "Assignment in Flight", because it has several bugs: 1. Player and wingman spawn at the same spot, both planes explode (fixed manually in the ME). 2. 255 and 256 are attacked according to the voice overs, but both helicopters are usually not shot down by the F-16s. 3. F-16 flight is neither shot down by 648 nor deactivated; they roam around the helicopters' path then land at Sukhumi instead of their home base. 4. After take-off, audio track from Boyarin tells me to destroy an enemy helicopter insertion east of Sukhumi, but actually the troops are to the west of Sukhumi, east of Gudauta. 5. Enemy troops are currently inserted in the middle of a forest, so it's impossible to identify or attack them. 6. Friendly troops are scattered in the middle of Gudauta, some times crashed into buildings.
  6. That was fantastic, frame by frame! Well done :D
  7. That's a Douglas Skystreak, a research type from the late 1940s.
  8. Some old school Força Aérea Brasileira photos. A worn F-5E from 1º GAvCa, BASC, refuels from a KC-137. The F-5E was upgraded to F-5EM, while the KC-137 has given way to the C-767 until the new KC-390 takes over. The somewhat elusive AT-26A Impala, flying 1º/4º GAv colours out of BAFZ. A Sorbonne da Caça has handed over instruction roles to the three 3º GAv squadrons flying the A-29, and after a brief period of inactivity has performed Amazonian air defence duties out of Manaus with the F-5M. One of the last 1º GDA Mirage IIIEBR photos in flight, BAAN. A happy if brief few years came operating the Mirage 2000C, followed by a short break. Currently GDA is doing air defence of the capital in the F-5EM in anticipation to receiving the first JAS-39E. We go a little deeper this time. This 1º GAvCa F-5B, 4802, performed many happy missions training pilots coming from Fortaleza and Natal at supersonic flying. It was received together with the first F-5E batch in 1974, and flew until new F-5F arrived to take over its mission. 4802 has since been put on display near BAGL, and even got the new green/grey paint job like the active F-5M. A UH-1H during SAR training. This reliable workhorse served in multiple squadrons, and finally saw the sun set for its stellar career when the UH-60 and Mi-35 arrived in force. With many years left at the Air Force Academy (AFA), the T-27 has made way to the A-29 in advanced training, leader formation and demonstration squadrons. These Esquadrilha da Fumaça T-27s sport the red and white paint scheme used between 1982 and 2002.
  9. Obviously they're going to update the textures and leave the module. Seriously, mate? They've literally just released an update yesterday on this very forum. It's being worked on, chill out.
  10. I'm really looking forward to it being released, thanks for the link! :)
  11. Range would be the decisive factor here. The MiG-29 can go fast, but it only has so much burner time available in combat before it needs to turn home.
  12. You kids are missing the big picture. The real winner game plan is to station an F-14 some way from the frontlines, preferably next to an airbase, SAM side, AEW or tanker aircraft, and use its big fat radar to direct lighter fighters to targets or discourage enemy fighters from attacking strike aircraft.
  13. I'd love that! However the JAS A/B shares the JAS C/D's radar, which is probably the main point of contention for permission.
  14. This looks great, I'll give it a go this weekend! PS: The plane set looks very good and balanced as is. One side has better dedicated strike aircraft, the other has more fighters with basic bomber capability. It's a nice balanced asymmetrical plane set, great job!
  15. SVTONY, don't fly the F-5 like you fly other fighters. Generally speaking using both ailerons and elevators together is like flying through mud, so keep the wings clean and combine rudder+elevator to point the nose where you need it to go. If the bastard is insistent, add some opposite aileron to pull a high-G roll and make that overshoot happen.
  16. A vote against kill messages from me. They show what kind of enemy is in the air, what kind of friendly was shot down, and you can easily guess the area this occurred based on who was involved. I like the fog of war more.
  17. Ah, I'd forgotten about the JF-17's SEAD capacity!
  18. Wouldn't it be better to put the Phantom RED and Mirage BLUE? That way both sides get a supersonic SEAD platform.
  19. I really liked it. Star Wars is very much my favourite saga and in my opinion they've been doing it justice so far.
  20. They're all in Torzhok, the centre for what used to be Army aviation (now incorporated into the Aerospace Forces). There's no specific information, but the vague and little I could find suggests the 16 or so remaining units are still in active use.
  21. I don't think so. I was in the F-5E simulator some years ago and I don't remember the runways having the cables (or any sort of detail to be fair, it was very bare-bones). Unless memory fails me, the cables are pretty straightforward in the sense that you make as normal a landing as you can, and should you fail to stop before the end of the runway the cables will stop the aircraft for you.
  22. Understood, carss. I thought maybe there was some template with the camo which I wasn't aware of but alas. Thanks for the help :)
