Hmm, can you walk me through that in a bit more detail? I'm flying a mission on a MP server and the wayppoints have been set for ground attack/other aircraft. I want to take teh Viggen out to see where we are told thee are some enemy frigates to engage. I cant add my own waypoint to F10 map but I dont know enough jargon to understand your info? I can slew the radar cursor around when the circle appears on the screen but if the waypoint / target circle is 60 miles behind me, is there a way of resetting the radar target circle back to boresite so I can slew it from there?

I'm hunting ships in a MP server, but no waypoints available, is there a way to set radar fix with no waypoint, like a traget-of-opportunity mode?

They say its fixed in the Dora now, the above shot was taken after the last patch update and uses one of the default liveries in an instant action - free flight mission Did another quick check - full repair, problem is still there.

Soz - my misunderstanding, I have not seen the flickering or disappearing bug, only the LOD texture change which is still happening.

Maybe a dumb question but if you install the MP mod on a server do all visiting the server get to see the effects, or do they all need to have the SP mod installed locally? And if its installed locally will they see effects if on a server without the MP mod installed? Or have I got that all wrong? MP passes integrity check and SP doesn't? -

Yep just noticed its still not fixd, also noticed on the Spit when you zoom in close on F2 view the spinner disappears altogether. BF109 and P-47 spinners are ok. -
Spitfire Spinner disappears when up close in F2 view then reappears when you zoom out. In fact I also notice an issue with the spinner on the FW190 Dora, where (presumably) the LOD changes when up close to a general black one, and further away its striped or spiralled. Pre-2.7 I never noticed the spiiner disappearing, or is it just a detail setting on my end?

It doesnt cause a crash on loading but it doesnt show anything like the volume or density of the smoke mod pre-2.7. In fact I'd question if MP one is working at all - it doesnt really seem any different to me. -

Thanks for the reply, its frustrating as all the other important rotary knobs are mappable (CW/CCW) and mapped to my rotary encoders, I understand Heatblur were asked to implement this in September 2018 so maybe one christmas in the distant future my dream will become a reality. -

AJS37: Is it possible, via editing the controls lua files, to add a binding the devs did not build in? Im wanting to use a rotary encoder on my custom button box to map to the bomb separation dial in the Viggen. (Weapon interval selector mode knob - Siktningvaljare) At the moment it only responds to mouse clicks and there is no description for it in the settings/controls. -
Never going to get the chance to fly a Viggen IRL so I cant possibly judge

Would prefer Caucasus to be a little better, not Gulf or Syria being a bit worse!

OK cool, post is dated Oct 2018, thats 2.5 yrs and no progress. I delved into some threads on the DIY cockpit subforum, there's posts about breaking into (editing)the lua files to add differnt keybindings and controller actions for stuff currently not mapped, I wondered if there was any experience to draw on here for that? I'll have to revisit some old posts from last year to investigate further.

I'm setting up a custom button box with rotary encoders to control the dials in the Viggen, I can map the Master mode, the ternav data select knob and the weapons select knob but not the dial next to weapons select that controls the spacing for bomb releases. Is any mapping available for that? I cant find any ref to it in the controls options?

I know, I'm grateful for the input - what really threw me is the ease at which it worked on Gulf and Syria map even when taking off straight over water, which made no sense to me - why should it work fine out of Khasab where the runway is only a short distance from the water, and yet not work when taking off from Batumi over water. Then retesting way inland on Caucasus map around Kobuleti I could not get a 5 on the TerNav, 3 was the best I could get, yet on similar terrain in the Gulf I got a 5 straight away after takeoff. There is definitely some difference between maps in the way the TerNav picks up the data.

So ..more testing in SP and online server, seems caucasus is not at fault, just need an amount of 'rich terrain' to get the ternav to pick it up - towns, rivers, hills. It seems to take longer on Caucasus map to reach the '5' than it did on the Gulf map or Syria but once I get '5' - sometimes taking a longer route to target then the Bk-90's hit the target marker.

I have another thread runnig under BK-90 now available, done a lot more SP testing and I only ever seem to get the drift on nav and BK-90 target area when Im flying in the Caucasus map. It works fine in Gulf & Syria, ternav reads 50, in Caucasus it gets to 10 or 20. Was this ever solved for you? I've got same issue.

The more testing I do, the more I get the feeling its still the old Caucasus terrain bug. I set up another short SP mission on syria map, got 5 on the ternav straight after takeoff, did not set QFE accurately or set heading accurately, still got 4 BK90's bang on target. Same procecdure as gulf and Caucasus. Same person taking off. Every time in Caucasus I get the drift. No time in Gulf or Syria do I get the drift.
