  1. Thanks for this, the KA-50 works fine, route-following with the above procedure but the map display does not show the wp's. The Heli steers nicely along the route though, and no fps issues for me. I will check the A-10cii
  2. ..in the F-16 yes, but how to get the Apache or KA-50 to accept a route input from the tool and not just a set of discrete points?
  3. This is brilliant! Tested in the F-16 and works perfectly, when I imported a set of waypoints into the Apache and the KA-50 it just imports a discrete set of points and not a course like you get in the F-16. Any way of making the separate wp's into a navigation track?
  4. but not the nxt standard version
  5. Yep - control axes conflicts, now sorted
  6. just had a thought - maybe axis assignment conflicts - recently upgraded to new joystick and not yet wiped the old assignments off the controls. Will test and revert - thanks!
  7. Sincel the recent update on openbeta my Viper ALT and ATT hold no longer hold either attitude or altitude. STRG and HDG switches work ok, just the Pitch ones seem to have lost function.
  8. I read a lot of posts on reddit nad youtube about the new nxt's and a few like me who felt it was over-damped. Others said it got easier/smoother after a few weeks, others replaced the grease with nyegel 767a which is lower viscosity. I have now regreased with 767 though the original is really hard to remove, but the reduction in damping is for me a good improvement, the stick never springs back to centre, its still nicely damped, just a lot easier to push around. Will also try the weaker springs shortly when the postman gets here.
  9. @petsildNot sure I understand you, do you mean you prefer damping much stronger, when it was new? Which then means the damping gets weaker with use?
  10. I just took delivery of my NXT standard today and find it really really stiff on the damping, looks a lot stiffer (no sniggering at the back please) than any of the youtube video reviews I watched. It makes fast movement of the stick almost impossible. Is it supposed to be this stiff and does it ease up a bit after use? I'm pretty sure its the damping and not the default springs it came with, just wondering if I can lower the damping a bit on this model?
  11. It was mentioned in the therad on the AH-64D by another user, IU was keen to see if I could find an answer but I'm pretty sure now its incorrect.
  12. I have a programming question - I want to program one button on tempo to go to a shift state (alternate) to allow different functions for the hat switches, and change an always-on LED colour, say from green to orange to tell me if the stick is in state 0 or state 1. I want the shift state button to be tempo so I can still use it as a normal button with a short press but change shift state with a long press. [edit] solved via vkb forum - the level of programming possibilities for this sticjk is mindblowing.
  13. I watched a VKB Youtube video last night about this, they said it was down to the magnets coming loose. Glad you got it fixed.
  14. But then George ai wont fly the heli for you. I just wanted to dig deeper into Faosmasters earlier claim but it seems it is not correct.
  15. Ive recently noticed every few minutes flying in DCS the blue LED's on the X52 joystick will flash once bright and the trim will jump. This can create a sudden nose up or down for no reason. Has anyone else experienced this before and is there a fix?
  16. I tried out jumping in the Huey checked as solo flight, and it only let me use pilot seat, I could not move to any other seat. So the solo flight checkbox is not related to anything relevant about disabling multicrew in server to be able to fly the Apache on your own as CPG, online. That was the point of this thread and this was Faosmaster's claim above, but has not been proven correct or accurate?
  17. Im still very much settling into keybind configs for the AH-64D, takes a while to bed in what I want and need. Ive finally managed to get the ministick working as a proper joystick axis after disappearling down a long late rabbit hole last night, so I'm happy using the ministick to slew the TEDAC around, and back to the main joystick X and Y-axes to fly the heli. Now I need something to slew the cursor around....
  18. "you can accomplish things with my method by setting up your modifier in the box on the right of the Add Modifier panel (labelled "Switches") as this will allow you to use a momentary button as an On/Off toggle for the modifier." - very interesting - I will give that a try! No- dcs does not recognise the rotary mode switch on the X52
  19. Im wondering if the X52 mode dial could also be used in a similar way. The X52 Hotas has no latching switches but a rotary 3-way mode switch. Ive never tried using that a a modifier in DCS before, just via the Saitek programming software. [edit] the 3-pos mode switch does not seem to be flagging up as a key press so cannot be used a a mod.
  20. I'm wondering if anyone has managed to do this, as I cannot see any option in ME or server settings, or online reference to disable multicrew and allow single player to fly from CPG seat? Would love to be able to do this in the F-14 as well.
  21. I read there is an option to disable multicrew, which would allow players to take over the Apache CPG seat and have the a.i. fly you. It would be really cool to be able to operate the Apache from CPG seat online without the need for a human pilot to sit behind you.
  22. I did some digging last night following a reddit thread to github and back to here, to try and get the ministick working as a proper analog axis that DCS recognises. I finally found a register tweak that worked for me (X52 here, not the X52 pro) so I can now use the ministick to slew properly for tdc and TADS on the AH-64D. There were a few threads where people said it cannot or will not function but this worked for me, you just have to sacrifice one existing axis - easy for me as I have rudder pedals and dont need the joystick z-axis turn. So as I understand it the ministick x acts instead of joystick rotate, and ministick Y acts as the (previously unused) slider 2. I attached the program here, its not my work, I just found it, it has options for which axis you can do without and just edits the registry for you. x52_ministick_axes.zip
  23. Im guessing not, that was the question that brought me to this thread and reading the above, I think its not possible, which is a shame. When you join a server you have to join as pilot and then you cannot change seat.
  24. Thanks Ed, much appreciated esp as you noted you dont maintain them any more
  25. I think 'Set' replaces 'tune' as its less erroneous for VA to understand. Im struggling to get the radios to tune according to what I tell them and I've imported the custom keybinds. Maybe I need a different setting or a better mic but Im getting a lot of issues with VA understanding me and I'v run thru the voice learning lots of times now. UHF - UHS, VHS, VHF, two or to, many errors I need to iron out before these become usable, but I appreciate them now being made free! I also have an issue with keybind not working in the huey (hence voice command not working) - it's Lctrl+Lshift+R which is set to decrease the UHF 1MHz knob
