  1. Thanks, sent!
  2. On 8 Nov 2012 I was billed twice for FC3. One payment for $40.39 was payed to http://www.lockon.ru, and another payment was charged by TFC for $39.99. The E-mail sent to me quoted a price of $39.99, however $80.38 was deducted from my account. Cheers, Pyro.
  3. I dunno, but I sure hope that they don't make an F/A-18C. Nothing against it, but it wouldn't be that much more difficult to do a SH.

  5. Yeah, no, the F-35 is more than capable enough as a fighter, the same as the F-16, except probably, a lotta bit better. The sensor fusion should also allow it to be quite an effective ground attack/CAS platform, even if it can only hold around the same payload as the F-16C. Due to a more efficient engine, its loiter time should also be a lot higher. Overall, it looks to be a pretty effective multi-role platform well suited to replace the F-16C fleet. Granted, it will be extremely expensive, at least until it passes the LRIP stage. All of the hiccups that it is having aren't helping any either.
  6. Not really, take any armed forces, and you will see that the world has, for a long time, been moving towards a "smaller but better" military force. Of course there are always two sides to this argument, and both are equally correct, however you cannot discount the importance of have both a sizeable enough force, and an advanced enough force. The idea is where to draw the line between these. Tricky situation that can't be answered to with any great ease.
  7. It's only on hold for you, the rest of us are bound by an NDA not to show you the screenshots we all got in our PM's. :P
  8. Also important to consider in this problem is akin to what the U.K. experienced at the beginning of WWII. Their government was recoiling from the shock of WWI so they decided to cut the tank corps to save money. When Germany turned out to have advanced and modern armor, Great Britain was in shock because they had little more than a Matilda 1 with a .30 cal as the main gun. Their tactics and equipment were woefully inferior for the time. Likewise, by delaying the development of new and superior platforms, and also the tactics required to deal with these new technologies, we will face the catch of re-developing an airborne F-23 Churchill. A good plane that is too late for its time and too ineffective to deal with the J-30 Tigers.
  9. He doesn't use Graphs matey, he uses videos (because videos are more accurate than thousands of hours of flight testing). It only makes sense that he wouldn't know how to read/interpret one properly.
  10. EDGE brings us better graphics, higher mesh resolutions, more accurate elevation maps, more accurate static structure design and placement, and better performance (likely). There are also many other things that will probably be changed, but haven't been discussed yet, so I wouldn't know to speculate on them.
  11. On the contrary, because LHM is so big, I would think that they have a rather large vested interest in such an adaptable moddable platform that they have now fully internalized. Since a lot of their business is invested in aircraft systems and weapons platforms, a good base simulator that they can adapt to their needs at will would be an extremely valuable thing I would think. Microsoft on the other hand had absolutely no interest in flight simming aside from the dollars generated. Not comparable. Also MSFS is one of the most in-depth platforms when it comes to integrating plugins and modifying the system to suit your needs. It is hardly cardboard, and the only reason the physics or systems aren't up to your high standard is because the companies who build the products are simply not making them to this standard for the most part. The engine is capable of much more than what most people give it credit for. In fact, when Prepar3D comes to light, I suspect that more than a few companies will be using it for professional simulator environments in lieu of over priced alternatives such as Frasca international sim systems, which are complete garbage in my opinion (especially the ground handling, you think FC2 is bad for $20, try driving a $150/hr Sr-20 sim where it feels like you have ice skates on your plane), and definitely not worth the $600,000 spent on a single platform.
  12. Sorry Dave, I cannot do that.
  13. Farmville requires an active internet connection. I am pretty sure that this guy connects to these forums with his 2G cell phone connection.
  14. It is possible, and LEAVU aimed to do just that. However it has fallen significantly out of date so far.
  15. Russian pilots are certifiably insane. The jury is still out however, on whether or not this is a bad thing.
  16. Sometimes contrails get ridiculously compressed. This has been happening ever since World came out. If you zoom in/out, and play around with time compression, the contrails become different lengths.
  17. They do, your wingmen will not auto engage targets though, so you have to assign them to attack things.
  18. Guns, guns, guns! Or, if you think you are cool, "Fox Four!". Three, three, fox three?
  19. Looks fairly promising.
  20. Hopefully next year's VFAT will be using DCS Hawks, Hornets, and Falcons. Sorry Su-27 guys, you don't get your plane until the year AFTER next year.
  21. Warthog. I own an X-65F, and as great as it may be, it results in some slightly erratic behavior that is basically uncorrectable. This is especially bad for maintaining good formation. I tend to jitter all over the place due to uncommanded movements of the stick. In my opinion the stick would be near perfect if it incorporated a slight range of physical motion similar to how the F-16 stick works. The Warthog is a solid, heavy, well manufactured stick, with good resistance and excellent precision. FYI the CMS switch on the X-65F does not push down. You have to use some other key for the jammer. Not like it matters much anyways, the current jammer implementation doesn't really make it all that useful.
  22. Yes, it does, especially when you are copying stuff from people you rely on to help you with producing those tools of war.
  23. The ZSU-23-4M has a search radar on top, as well as a terminal fire control radar mounted between the guns. The Vulcan, although it has a ranging radar, will not track the guns, or for that matter, find any targets for the vehicle. You can fire on anything that has a search radar. ARM's will lock and seek onto Shilkas no problem as well.
